They also broke the secondary hood latch, so I couldn't see why the engine compartment was smelling and looking like burning oil. I have no confidence at all in Lakeland Auto service... I will begin by saying that my SUV's brakes…read morewere working perfectly before I visited LakeLand Automotive. We only took the vehicle in because the brake warning light came on. After checking out the brakes Lakeland said everything was fine, it was just the sensor warning that the brake pads would need to be replaced sometime in the future. Since we recently purchased the vehicle we decided to be proactive and have the brakes done... We got a quote and picked up the vehicle before closing.... the bill was higher than expected and he said the emergency brake cable was starting to seize and should be replaced sometime. I mentioned that the emergency brakes worked perfectly each time I used it to launch my boat. We paid our bill and left... by the time we got home the the brakes were smoking. My wife took the vehicle back to have the brakes adjusted and they then charged us for new callipers. I inquired and the manager said sometimes you try to "save" the old callipers but they had to put new ones on. I was not happy but let it go. Shortly later we took our boat to the ramp and discover that we had no energy brake at all? I took the vehicle back to Lakeland and he said that the mechanic said the cable was seized and said that we would have to replace the cable... by now I was not about to let them work on the brakes again and put off fixing the emergency brake. Later that year, we had our vehicle in a different shop... I explained our brake situation to the mechanic, he checked and said the brake cable was moving freely, but he explained that on this make of vehicle, if you are not careful you can brake off the attachment at the end of the cable. Well, I went back to Lakeland and explained that another mechanic checked, the cable was not seized and it was moving freely. The manager at Lakeland said I could bring the car back, but he would charge me to take a look if the cable was seized. I reminded him that the brakes (including the emergency brake) worked perfectly when we first brought the car to him and we only had the work done to be proactive. The smoking brakes, extra charges, the emergency brake that suddenly was not seized... I said that obviously who ever worked on the brakes screwed up and I should not be charged for the new emergency brake cable. The manager said I was welcome to bring the vehicle back, but I would be charged for the new cable. I said that I have never been so disappointed with a repair shop and that I would let people know what kind of service I received from Lakeland Automotive... he made some comment and that was the end of it. If I were you I would find a different repair shop for your brakes.

Spoke to the manager and we were extremely disappointed with his response. He explains he would sell it to the next person for 6,500$. Buyer beware. Bring a licensed mechanic with you. Be prepared to be belittled by the management. They lack respect and completely waste your time. The mechanic that I had with me knew more about the car in the first 5 minutes than what they've known about it since they got it 4 months ago. There were critical parts missing on the motor, and yet it still passed the "Bill Howich inspection". My mechanic touched the back bumper and it almost fell off as it was held on by zap straps. I was prepared to drive away a happy customer but instead I was told by management that "everyone has different expectations". The salesman that we were directly dealing with at the time was great help and gladly admitted that the car has issues. He was very honest about his lack of knowledge of the car once we arrived . However this establishment lacks true leadership in the way of management and not an apology was made for wasting our evening. No compensation for the hassle. I would highly recommend buying a vehicle anywhere but here, as you will drive away with more problems than you came in with.

I specifically asked on chat if that was the correct price of that vehicle and if it contained everything in the vehicle that was in the photos or was it just a way to get customers onto the lot. She asked for my name and email and said she would check with her manager and email me back. Next that evening I get an email from a different salesman saying that vehicle was unfortunately in transit but asked just exactly what I was looking for. When I told him of the vehicle in the ad he said if you want a vehicle with navigation you need to go up to a different model and then asked me to point out in the ad where it showed it had navigation. When I pointed out all the photos then his comeback was that those images are just automatically inserted and then he said it shows SLT on the tailgate and that goes for between $66,000 and $74,000. My point is why post pictures that you know is blatantly committing false advertising. You should be ashamed of yourself as a business. Not a happy consumer.
