I've been meaning to write a review on this place for about two years now. First of all, I can't…read moretell you how much they pissed me off - twice, in fact. I can't comment on the therapeutic benefit of the Academy. We enrolled our son (CM) for about 9 months at the encouragement of his teachers. Enrollment is by quarter and paid in advance. Does my son have social problems? I don't think so. Did his social skills improve after he attended? Hard to say. Maybe he's a little less pigheaded and dominating. OK, here's what bothered me: We called the Academy for an initial meeting with the Director. We were assessing the place and its programs. It is a for-profit operation, although they promote the fact they provide training for graduate students from BC and other local colleges. We had a pleasant meeting and then a week or two later, I get a bill for $60. Here I am paying for the privilege to learn about the programs. I called to inquire, got an evasive answer but paid the bill anyway. Near the end, I ran into problems with one of the lead counselors. Very, very sanctimonious. Started hitting me with the mandated reporter threats. She only had a small snapshot of what was going on. I was dealing with something I was fully aware of and I didn't need the added stress of her threats. I am being purposely non-specific here. I know what the problem is and I have dealt with it successfully for many years. OK, lead counselor, you tell me I have a problem. I know I have a problem (the problem isn't with me or my child). So give me a solution to my problem. I bet she couldn't. Here's the stupidity...if you are going to threaten me at an activity that is voluntary on my part, I'm not going to come back. I'm not going to put myself or my son in harms way. They say they're good, and if they say they're good, they must be good. Don't believe it. And trust your gut about your child. And his or her teachers.

Something we can't fully claim from working with a couple of child psychologists in the past. Every kid is different, but it seems that an environment with a group of peers was a better place to learn and mature socially, at least in our case. The program that we were in definitely works. The Academy was very helpful to us. We've received some great parenting ideas and strategies. All in all, we can highly recommend the program. It's not for every child, definitely not, but if you child struggles to keep up with his peers socially, this might be a good place to try. As far as billing issues mentioned in one of the reviews here, we've never had any issues. It's a small organization, it's not a retail business, but we've never had any customer service issues. In fact, we have always been able to easily get in touch with someone via phone or email.

Program is planned & executed, BUT, parents don't get daily updates on activities, only weekly. Only ONE teacher per class. For most activities they combine the classes which creates chaos. Last year I saw one teacher dealing with 9 boys ages 4,5. The were constantly combined with my son's class 3,4 yr olds. During break times none effective or lacking adult supervision. My child was pushed down the stairs TWICE!! And they didn't even know! My then 3 year old was hit a few times in school & only once did they report it, AFTER, I started contacting the school with my concerns. My child loved his friends & teacher but was terrified of two older kids who would be combined at activity time. The teachers are GOOD, but supervision between class & at break time is lacking. All of our neighbors put their kids through and had very positive experiences as well, as all of our kids were more than ready for kindergarten when that started! I'd give Sunshine and their talented staff more stars if I could.

Our toddler started at SolBe on day one of the school opening. We had very high hopes after our…read moreinterview, despite the cost being much higher than the alternatives. For the added expense, we were promised minute by minute updates, a two-to-one ratio of teachers to students, and a focus on education that could be overlooked elsewhere. Unfortunately, despite an excellent experience with the Director and our son's first teacher, a significant change was made after a few months. The Director, along with many more staff members, were replaced, and the focus seemed to shift notably towards higher profits and cost cutting measures. Our son was moved into a much larger room where there were often two teachers for eight babies, even after they showed up late. The stress put on the staff still making an effort meant that the "minute-by-minute" updates through the app were ignored until the afternoon when they played catch up while all the kids were napping. Often, we wouldn't find out if our son had eaten or had a diaper change until hours after he'd been picked up. The high ratio also contributed to clothes being lost or ruined with art materials unsuitable for infants, diaper changes being skipped, brusies and scrapes, and a near weekly changeover of staff who were clearly frustrated with the experience as well. Our son's class shared a changing room with another, and it was very common to hear the teachers there, unaware they were being observed, repeatedly screaming at the toddlers "everyone come here" and "be quiet". Another thing for prospective families to consider is that SolBe considers themselves a school first and a daycare second. On the average month, SolBe closes around three working days for holidays, conferences, and "teacher enrichment", meaning that working parents will suddenly have a child to account for (not even to mention the frequency that they contact you and ask you to bring your child home early because they "seem like they're not feeling so well', with no other symptoms than a low fever and a lack of energy; a very common experience for young kids). Obviously, the monthly cost is the same regardless of how many days they actually care for your child. Ultimately, we found another center that is offering 5 nine-hour days a week for the same price that SolBe was charging for 3 seven-hour visits. The new school doesn't have a fancy app or gourmet lunches, but we feel our child is a lot more than just an income source in their eyes, and we're much happier. (FYI- This review refers to the new location on Sherman Road, which doesn't have its own listing as of this date.)

Now, he runs out the door and into his classroom. This 2 years old ability to love others and accept himself is on full display not only at Solbe, but also at the park, the supermarket, and on trips, where he greets everyone with a smile and a "Hello!" As parents, I am most grateful for : Solbe's nutrition system, the best in the US. Three meals a day, chefs prepare fresh, nutritious, and varied menus, allowing our young children to experience a wide variety of foods and get the most nutrition. So I can forgive myself when I serve him just chicken nuggets at dinner :) Furthermore, from such a young age, the teachers provide new art experiences every day. My son loves drawing, talking, singing, dancing, and running around--all of these activities are spontaneous and active. Thanks to Solbe, his brain, mind, and motor skills have developed remarkably, and most importantly, he seems very happy. So I can forgive myself when I let him watch TV before dinner time :) I am grateful to the teachers and staff who provide the world's best early education, nutrition, with a big love spirit and we truly appreciate their professionalism.

I would not recommend The Goddard, Medfield. I paid a non-refundable (don't know if any daycare really does that but they do) monthly deposit to enroll my kid in the Goddard, Medfield and unfortunately, the pandemic hit. I understand the center is closed and the joining date is being moved but it has been more than 2 years now and I still haven't got a proper joining date for my kid. Every time I try to follow up on the joining date the only word they said was they were fully booked and gave a date after ~ 6 months, well if you call closer to that date they say that you were late in calling and we don't have any availability and gave me another date after ~5-6 months. The one comment I didn't like from the head of the school was you paid your deposit and it is your responsibility to follow up and find a date, if you are late in calling us it is your fault. I know the issue started with the pandemic but the real issue was the communication from the school on enrolling my kid, every time I call I get a new date of joining and I had to scramble to find another place for my kid which could be really tricky. I lost my non-refundable deposit but I finally, took the decision that I am not going to have my kid join this school because I am worried about what other issues they might have internally if their communication and leadership are like this and I am not risking that with my kid.

Everyone we've talked to has been super warm, helpful, and patient with all our questions. The place feels clean, organized, and really inviting and you can tell they put a lot of care into creating a nurturing learning environment. What also made our decision easier is that my niece goes to a Celebree in another state and absolutely loves it there. Seeing how happy she's been made us feel even more confident about choosing Celebree for our kid. I especially appreciate how attentive they have been during the onboarding process; checking in regularly, walking us through each step, and making sure our little one's transition will be as smooth as possible. So far, everything has been great and we're really excited for our kid to start!

Choosing a childcare center as a parent is never easy, and as a parent of a child on the autism…read morespectrum, it can feel especially overwhelming. We have toured many centers over the years and often left feeling uneasy or unsure. Celebree School of Newton was the first place where that anxiety simply wasn't there. From the moment we walked in, the environment felt warm, lively, and genuinely welcoming. What immediately stood out was how hands-on everyone was. The owners and director were not standing on the sidelines. They were actively engaging with the children, getting down to their level, playing, laughing, offering high fives, and making real connections. Seeing leadership interact with my child so naturally made a huge impression on me. The biggest moment for us came during the tour. My child, who normally clings tightly to me in new environments, stayed behind in the classroom with teachers and another child while I walked the building. That has never happened before, and it spoke volumes. Since starting, drop-offs have been surprisingly smooth. My child is comfortable, settled, and confident enough that he barely notices when I leave. The onboarding process was thoughtful and thorough. The staff took time to truly get to know my child, his personality, his needs, and what helps him feel regulated and happy. They allowed him space to explore, move, and be himself, including time in the gym to run and release energy. That flexibility and patience are exactly what we were hoping for. Safety is another major strength. The building is secure, with cameras and controlled access, and the tall fencing around the campus is a huge reassurance for families with children who like to wander. Knowing that outdoor walks and movement can happen safely within the campus makes a big difference. The location is also a bonus. Having the YMCA and Excel Gymnastics right next door is incredibly convenient and offers great options for activities as our child grows. For a parent who has spent years feeling tense during daycare tours, Celebree has been a refreshing change. The teachers are experienced, attentive, and calm, and it shows in how the children respond to them. This has been a positive, confidence-building experience for both my child and me, and I'm truly grateful we found this school! It is worth every penny!
