I had a great experience at the Quilt Sampler purchasing a new sewing machine. The manager is very…read moreknowledgeable about the machines they carry and helped me make the best choice for my needs and budget!

I took my sewing machines to be serviced at this location. I live over an hour away. When I picked…read morethem up, I took them straight home and was eager to start sewing. I started to use my Janome and I used it for about 5 minutes and I could not get it to work correctly, the bobbin area was not moving correctly and the needle kept jabbing on metal. I then tried to use my Bernina and the thread cutter would not work when I tried to cut. I then called the quilt sampler and informed them about my issue. I also advised them that I lived too far and I was unable to take my machines in any time soon because I was in the process of packing, moving and unpacking. The manager assured me that it would not be a problem if it took me a while to get them to Springfield. I finally took them in Yesterday on 6/25/2026 and they repair guy called me back and stated that they are not responsible for the way my machine was lifted up from the side. They told me that it had been dropped somehow and IT HAD NOT been dropped AT ALL! And I advised him that the only person that had lifted the machine when we were moving was my husband. He then proceeded to tell me that he didn't care who held it or what happened to it. I thought maybe he had been having a bad day. I went to the store and I shopped for some items and left after spending an additional almost 100.00. Fiesta of all they stated that it would be a while before then could service it or there would be an additional fee if it was serviced that day and I should have called ahead of time. I had no idea so I didn't call. The next day the manager called me and stated that there would be ban additional service fee because I had taken too long in returning my machines to the shop.. AFTER I EXPLAINED TO HER THAT I COULD NOT GO IN ANY SOONER! She then started to say that we dropped the machine. It is a Bernina 710 and it is so heavy that if it would have been dropped it not completely broken, the cracks would have been at the bottom of machine and not the top. Anyways.. I told her again that I didn't drop it and I was too stupid not to check for damages when i when they returned for jt. (My fault) but I know no one touched it because I live alone with my husband. And he didn't drop it. She then started to say that the only thing they did to my machine last time was service it. I told them they took several weeks about 3 or 4 with my machine because they replaced a part. She then left me on hold and came back to tell me that I was right but the problem they fixed was nothing to do with the board that is messed up. And not in the same area. They fixed my knobs on the machine and THEY ARE by the area that they were working on. She then started saying that the thread was probably damaging my machine. I told them no because I was using The store brand thread from MSQ (Missouri Star Quilt Shop) so she then proceeded to tell me that I had used 60,000 stitches on my machine so they couldn't service it unless I paid because it was a different issue. I then hung up on her because I was so LIVID and had to contain my anger!! UGH! I am SOOO upset right now! If I could give them ZERO stars I would. I also feel very stupid for not reviewing their reviews before going thereto buy my Janome and to get both of my machines serviced! I see now how many terrible reviews they have about there machine servicing!! This will NOT be the only place that I make a review at and I will find every place possible to post a review! And I will NOT be changing my review unless they make this right!! And you better believe I will be calling the better business Bureau!
