According to the writer, the Sevierville police department in Tennessee is known for being the…read moreworst in the state. One individual, who was pulled over for speeding by Officer C Churchill (badge number 2165), had a negative encounter with this department. The officer was extremely impolite and issued a fine for not having a driver's license. When the individual tried to pay the speeding ticket, other officers arrived and began to harass them, accusing them of having drugs. Despite their knowledge of their rights to refuse a search of their vehicle, the officers proceeded to search it without cause, even using a dog to intimidate them. The individual insisted that they were not speeding but the officers did not seem to care and still issued two tickets. It seems that these police officers like to provoke individuals into incriminating themselves and become angry when they don't give away too much information about themselves. However, these officers are not forthcoming about their own personal information and are quick to accuse innocent individuals of crimes through harassment and false evidence. Despite being told that they have the right to remain silent by law, these officers become upset when someone exercises this right. This leads the writer to conclude that the Sevierville police department cannot be trusted as they are rude and have a tendency to incriminate innocent individuals.

Injustice by Sevierville Police Department April 2, 2025…read moreThis post is not meant to bash or undermine the Sevierville Police Department as a whole so I want to make that clear from the start, in fact I consider most of the officers and staff there friends and would do about anything to help them if they needed it, this is more about the injustice of one specific officer and how her intentional actions either politically or personally motivated ended up costing my Wife and I a lot of money, time, and aggravation. Nov 26th 2024, by wife was side swiped by another vehicle that was merging onto Hwy 66N, which he had a yield sign and my wife was going straight thru on a green light. The driver of the other vehicle changed his story several times from he didn't see my wife to she came over on him, lying to the officer, but that's not what this story is about. It is about the laughing loudly, cutting up, and acting like they were having a party back at the police officer's car between the officer and the driver of the other vehicle, obviously they personally know each other. It is to my understanding that ONLY the officer that wrote the report can make changes to the report. Multiple messages were left requesting a phone call back from Officer Krystal Gibson and she did not call us back, so the request to have her to please call us was escalated up to some of the Lieutenants, still nothing. Two requests were asked to the Chief of Police of how to get this report corrected and still no calls back. We are not asking for a determination of fault; we simply wanted the report to reflect accurate information. She didn't even have the other parties name correct, she has my wife's "GOLD" car listed as MAROON, and several other mistakes were found; just what it took to give the insurance companies on both sides reasons to reject the claims. Anyone can make mistakes but her refusal to fix the mistakes gives the appearance of intentional misconduct, which she should be ashamed of, and is a disgrace to the uniform and badge of the Police Dept and especially a disgrace to the Oath she took to protect the public and uphold the law. They want good community relations but now my wife is scared to have any interactions with the Sevierville Police Department due to the actions of this one officer. Again, I want to make it clear before the comments start flying, I DO NOT hold the Department at fault on this; from the new hires all the way to the Chief, but Krystal Gibson, you should resign in shame, you've had over 4 months to fix this.
