So, if you're like me and can't find the visitors center - try searching for the Chamber of Commerce's site. _________ This is a large, well-staffed visitors center - catering not only to Asheville but to all of North Carolina. There is a large, FREE parking lot where you can leave your car for the day while taking a trolley tour of Asheville. The center has tons of travel literature and can assist with hotel/motel bookings and other travel stuff. There is also the requisite gift shops which does offer some uniquely North Carolina products. The staff was very pleasant and quite helpful. The parking was FREE and We caught the Grey Line "hop-on / hop-off" trolley here. Great place to start any visit to the Asheville area.

We ended up buying a ticket for the hop on/hop off trolley which gives you a lot of information about the history of Asheville. You can get off where you want and then get back on. Anyway, having lived in lots of cities, I think the law enforcement here is pretty cool. I mean, they got like 2 Hummers. That's really cool! I also got into a fight a couple years ago and they sided with me. Thank you for that. I also have on a couple occasions driven over the speed limit not knowingly and seen them on the side of I26, and ANYWHERE else I would have been pulled over... but nope. That either tells me they were face timing their loved ones (very important), or they used their judgement to conclude that me being the only car on the highway at the time... 5-10mph over the limit didn't necessarily mean I was being reckless. Thank you. I've also notice that they're not always on the prowl like most cities. I mean I'm sure they take care of their business when it comes to domestic violence or other more serious crimes, but compared to lots of other cities I feel that they really are here to serve and protect, not to harass. Lastly, all their cars are always so nice, clean, and shiny. I can't comment on the interior, but exterior is always super nice.

Charged with filing a fake report...a felony! Had to plead guilty to avoid getting evicted from my apartment for a felony charge. It made everything worse because the criminal activity is ongoing. They made comments that police will never catch them. Seems they are right and smarter than the JCPD. SO MUCH FOR PROTECT AND SERVE
