So of course he got no tip from me. The concierge service was a bit hit or miss. Some were ok fielding requests and others seem to have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed that day. Like they had better things to do than assist me. I got the feeling most had not had much experience in hospitality management. The concierge kept looking in my room every hour, sometimes with a flashlight, and asking my name every time they came on shift... seems like they should know who was in there, but they did double-book my room with some other guy which proved to be somewhat inconvenient at times. I can guess they want to stay on top of occupancy rates. They didn't apologize at all for the double-booking though... in fact a couple even laughed at that. The on-site photo booth seemed to be a big hit! Everyone, and I mean everyone, was hitting that place up... but the complimentary rectal peruse from the onsite proctologist seemed forced. I don't think he enjoys his work, but I can see why. Looks like he has to deal with asses and assholes all day. Small cramped rooms. Rather sparsely furnished, even a minimalist would be asking for some stuff. I'm a fan of firm mattresses but these may have been just a tad too firm even for me. Felt more like a piece of steel and a Gym mat to be honest. Guess my light was broken as it wouldn't shut off at all. Only had a 1/4 bath but stunningly crafted and installed in a very durable stainless steel finish. Speaking of construction, one gentleman tested the durability of his door with rapid fist pounding and kicking well into the wee evening hours... but that door held up nicely. The concierge as well as several other guests were not too pleased and voiced some displeasure with loud, and somewhat terse, language. Showers were fairly communal but only a short walk downstairs. Hunted high and low but could not find the thermostat to save my life. Wifi and cable were out in rooms but it seemed I had misplaced my phone and the TV must've been out for repair. I don't think it mattered as there seemed to be only one channel, and it showed reruns of some 1980s police drama every time I caught a glance. Cheap store with amazon- like ordering, not so much on the selection or delivery though, but finding an ATM to take out money proved troublesome. I had misplaced my wallet anyway... it's possible the bellman had that as well. Local nightlife was interesting. I'd hear and see folks out there... but every time I went out, they'd be gone. Always the same dudes there. Real sausagefest. Onsight restaurant was on par with army chowhall t-rats in the desert. Onsite laundry service had an odd schedule, and most everyone's fashion choices were oddly similar... stripes are supposed to be slimming or something like that? But talk about your local team spirit... everyone's socks, shoes, hell even their underwear matched the local university colors! GoVols! Neighborhood might be sketch as there were bars on all the windows and a really rather tall fence with razor wire... presumably to keep the inhabitants safe inside. Appreciate this. I was inside and even I couldn't even find a way out, so I felt fairly certain no one was getting in. Didn't see many trying anyway. Really cheap rate, but you get what you pay for... would not recommend to a friend or even frenemy. It appears others may share my viewpoint as no one seemed to be at all enthusiastic about checking in, and everyone was fairly glad to be departing to other destinations. This is my only review as I won't be staying again... ever... at this nor any of the other local, state, or national chains. Let's just say I've learned my lesson on places like this. Just give Paris Hilton your money instead... you'll thank me later.

Then made me "thank" under duress with "come on, it's not that hard". And threatened me with a taser because I panicked when restrains were pulling my shoulders back, saying I had nothing to apologize for very nonchalantly when we reached the destination I was being transported to. Yeah, I did say an apology then, but did my tears not communicate I was terrified and not "in control of" the panic I was grappling with? Just find me for more information and answers, swear to me that won't happen again, repair the damages need be, and let me collaborate with you for that. I'm not putting up a fight with you, I'm making a record and walking away if things will only amplify because we don't settle things to closure.

They acted like I was wasting their time or perhaps about to throw down some serious trouble (as a friendly, non-aggressive white person I'm often mistaken for a berserker Ninja guerrilla Kaiju threat so perhaps their reaction is justified.) Hopefully they're really excellent about everything else as they police the teeming metropolis of Oliver Springs. One can only hope.
