The major regional plumbers showed up and the quote with their "discounts" was $2359. Campbell's was able to come out this afternoon and complete the repair. They were great from start to finish. It's unethical and illegal to do so especially when dealing with a customer facing a vulnerable situation. Other companies charge under $75 but I discovered that after dealing with CSA. I called three out of curiosity. Furthermore, he mentioned that he was coming from a location less than three miles from my home. Therefore, referring to $135 as a "discounted rate" for a trip charge is laughable. You live and learn. The office didn't tell me before hand that the trip charge would be this excessive. The guy Jack did a visual assessment (less than 8 minutes then hurried out to his next run). It appears like what he was confronted with was over his head so he didn't offer to repair the job.
