But a few days after that, my sink started backing up. I then had to go away for a week, so plumber Josh Harvey returned to fix this new issue today. (I live in a condo building in downtown DC that has recently had a lot of bad kitchen sewer issues, so it was only a matter of time that the issue happened to me.) First off, Josh discovered horrible initial installation of the kitchen pipes... calling it "sheer negligence and laziness". Basically, the pipe coming out of the wall that leads to the sewer should have had a proper threaded connection on it. Instead, it was a raw pipe that was not properly sealed shut. The plumber said it was a major water leak intrusion waiting to happen! Josh told me today that he's 43 yrs old and has been plumbing since he was 14, and had never seen such laziness in an initial install. It never should have been signed off on by the Faison contractor/builder of my building. So long story short. These guys know their stuff. I highly recommend them.

Raymond did a poor job of communicating the project schedule and next steps. We never knew when he was actually coming by to complete the work. When we called for updates we got the run around or he blamed it on other entities. One of the last steps was replacing the concrete, seen in the photos. We asked how many people would be working with him, he said a few around 4 people. In actuality it just was him and his son that helped. This was the sloppiest concrete job and evident that Raymond, a plumbing expert, has no business laying concrete. He definitely should've outsourced this part of the project. The concrete is uneven and bows down, which is a safety hazard. Left a broken piece of the wood frame in and just overall the messiest concrete application I've seen. Our garden bed is ruined, he didn't put enough dirt back before adding the brick. We're extremely unsatisfied with Odemz craftsmanship. We would've appreciated if Raymond was upfront about his capabilities and any changes in the project schedule. We feel he just took our money, knowing he didn't know what he was doing.

It has served us well since, until several days ago when we started hearing it leaking continuously in the drain pipe. We called Wills and they were able to come out within 2 days of our call to see what the problem was. It was discovered that a valve needed to be replaced. The manufacturer's rep sent the part pronto and Will's Plumbing was able to replace it today, just 2 days after diagnosis. Talk about speedy service! They are very thoughtful and attentive to their customers. They give us a window time frame of when they will arrive, a phone call that they are on the way, and an email that tracks their arrival, as well as a picture of the plumber. We usually see the same technician, too, which is nice. I highly recommend this company and its employees. Also, at the same time several years ago, they installed and have since serviced our Rennai tankless hot water heater too, which we love.

I was getting estimates telling me I needed to replace all of this piping in my house, rip up the walls, etc. Mr. Wills just came in and re-attached the radiator, putting on a new valve. And at an extremely good price. Then he came out and snaked some old drain piping in the kitchen and while he was here I asked him to give me a quote on replacing a boiler re-circulation pump. It was making a lot of noise. He gave me an excellent quote on replacing it if needed but not only that, he explained to ME how to do it if I wanted to do it myself. Other plumbing companies do this condescending thing if they've found out I've tried to do some of the work myself to save money, like "See, little woman? You failed and that's why you're having problems in the first place." Mr. Wills even talked to me about socket wrenches to use and such. But before he left, he just started knocking around on the pump a bit and the noise reduced significantly, to almost a negligible amount. I may still need to replace it, but at this point, I may not. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

Beware: Overpriced, Misleading, and Unhelpful…read more I called A&F Plumbing for a $59 service visit to find out why my water heater was not heating -- seemed reasonable. The tech was polite. That's where the positives ended. He relit the pilot light and THEN told me it was $250 just to relight the pilot light -- something most plumbers include in the basic fee. After paying that ridiculous charge, my water still never got hot. He didn't check, wait to see - - just said he relit it. He did make sure he had a sales pitch though. Without fully diagnosing the problem, he jumped straight to recommending a $875 burner assembly or a $5,250 replacement water heater, (complete with estimates) claiming mine was 11 years old, but my house is only 9 years old. Either the math was off, or they were hoping I wouldn't question it. I paid $250 for nothing -- no fix, no follow-up, just out the window, whoever recommended them should be ashamed of themselves. Definitely a bait-and-switch. If you're looking for real solutions and honest pricing, I strongly suggest calling someone else.
