Hired them to do a Bathroom remodel. Had to fire them and hire another Contractor to fix the mess they made of my residence.

We updated our house, including the complete gut-renovation of the kitchen, addition of a bathroom, replacement of old falling plaster walls, and much more. Our contractor, Bob Henry -- who now works as a kitchen consultant for Severino & Son -- has been an incredible contractor (and sometimes carpenter!) all along the way. He has expertise in every area of the home, a background in design (that saved us from having to use an architect), willingness to work with us to save money, and has given us so many extra perks along the way. He is pleasant to work with, always accessible, and very skilled. Our granite countertops from Severino & Son are terrific -- affordable and attractive. Choosing them was easy at their showroom, where we could go outside and choose the exact granite slab we wanted. Installation went without a hitch, and the countertops are flawless. read more

I want to edit my original review and give the final outcome of this job the review it deserves. My kitchen is beautiful! The template fit perfect and the granite compliments the cabinets and floor. It is absolutely stunning. My friend at Merck says it should be in a magazine. Professional installers would be a plus for this company. When they came to our home 3 hours late to install, they knocked over our mailbox and almost backed into our stone wall. My husband and I were very anxious, especially after that fiasco, that the job would end up a mess. My husband did supervise and assist in an effort to ensure nothing was damaged in the process. The granite turned out nice, but the frustration we experienced during the process should have been avoided. Severino accompanied the installers to keep an eye on them. He had to tell them several times to do this and do that so I'm glad he was there. While I enjoyed working with Severino, I would not hire these people again. read more

My wife and I are expanding our bathroom and went shopping around for a remnant granite counter top for our vanity. We probably visited a dozen places and settled on Severino and Son. Their price couldn't be beat and John was very helpful through the whole process. I was kept in the loop the whole time. We have been delayed in our overall project but once we were ready John and his guys were there for us. Measured, templated and installed in a week. I really don't have anything bad to say about Severino and Son. Now I can't wait to get the rest of this thing done!! read more

**STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY*** !!!!!! They are very attentive and nice until they have your money which you have to pay upfront. Once they have your money, phone calls are either returned days later or never, when the female receptionist finally answers the phone, she is rude and does not relay messages, they are LATE by atleast 1.5 - 2 hours for EVERY appointment, they have all new installers who have little knowledge and make careless mistakes...they even come out for a job without the correct tools to finish the job even after the appointment was scheduled and paid for a month in advance. You are promised a countertop in one piece and when they arrive, they have pieces and seam it (even though its a small section of countertop), and they do not always hold true to their appointments! Jon is the one who comes out to do the template and is always late and somewhat standoffish. Javier is the worst, he is super nice in person at the beginning of the process and promises you the world, once he has your money...he never returns phone calls, never follows threw with his word and is just terrible. *****They may have good ratings on Angie's List however they recently have all new staff and installers who even laugh at their way of doing business...RED FLAG***** read more

I chipped a piece of my granite countertop and called John from Severino and Sons. The woman set up an appointment for the next day for John to fix it for $85.00. I waited the 4 hour time frame and finally arrived around 1:30 pm. He came over with another guy and unfortunately he did not have the correct materials to fix it. He said to me he will come back and would take care of me. I said thank you. I tried calling the office to make an appointment for him to come back but the girl kept blowing me off saying he's very busy and has to call me back which he never did. Finally the next week he called me and he very rudely said "I don't want to do the job its a free country" "Capisce" as he was yelling at me. He also said that it would take to much time to fix the chip and take away time from doing other work. Please stay away and don't use this company! read more

We used Severino and Sons for a kitchen renovation 10 years ago and we were extremely pleased. Thus when a friend asked for my recommendation I gave her Severino's information. She stopped by the store and was pleased. Next Severino, himself said he would come out to measure the area. The meeting was set for this past Friday. No Severino, no phone call, nothing. My friend was kind and rescheduled for today - again - no Severino, no phone call! What is the problem? It seems that businesses become complacent with success! They need to remember the clients that made them successful. I am so disappointed with Severino but am glad my friend saw their true colors before committing to them. Also, we need to redo bathrooms this year. We will not be using Severino and Sons. read more

After needing complete renovation due to a house fire, we called Severino and Sons (having used them before and been satisfied) to install a new granite countertop and natural stone backsplash. I picked a high grade stone that was more expensive but beautiful. Everything was fine until install and that's where things went very wrong. The seam was absolutely horrible, two different colors and not fluid whatsoever. You could see the line from across the room. I called and told them we were not happy and they came out and said they would fix it. Instead of removing and replacing the slab, and after adding some kind of chemical to try to make the colors match, they said we needed to pick another, less marbled (cheaper) type of stone. It took over a month for them to finish my job. The stone looks ok now, just not what I originally picked. The backsplash... awful. Whoever did the grout couldn't be bothered to take off the outlet covers and just grouted right around them!!!! They did not caulk the sink and scratched my new cabinets. It got to the point where we finally said enough is enough and hired someone else to come in and fix their mistakes. We were living in a rental and could not afford to wait any longer. They need better fabricators and installers. read more

John personally came out to my home to make my project right. He provided me with an explanation as to why the project went the way it did and explained to me the quality of the stone I choose. He personally came out with his father and finished the job and made everything look beautiful. He also gave me a lifetime warranty on the work if I have any problems in the future. Although we had a few "turns in the road" along the way in the end I am happy with the finished product and the company. read more

Bad Template Blind hillbilly cutter ( their wording, not mine ) Damage upon more damage to flooring, appliances, cabinets Tempermental owner Runs out of house slamming doors & cursing ( explicite ) & never returns, calls, apologizes, follow up, & doesn't say anything to me today when I show up to find out what's happening next. Oh wait ... The slab I actually purchased ... Was still sitting in the yard today, with name still on it ! I guess they found some leftover templates to throw into my extremely moderate job & Still charge me top $$$ I find it hard to believe they haven't had a ton of issues before now ... It was like it was their 1st install. They were unprofessional from the start & still continue to be. Things were so volatile while they were in my home that my neighbor almost called the police & purposely kept taking a little bit of trash out repeatedly because she was worried for my safety. She even came over after they left to check on me. I only read the reviews on their Fb page. That was my only mistake because, since then ... I've found more, just like mine. I was working on a kitchen reno project and did some comparison shopping for granite countertops. In contrast to the other shops, Severino & Son stood out as the one with a real focus on the customer -- there was no "sorry, you have to choose this package or that package". John worked closely with me to design a solution that fit my budget and time constraints, and was there at every step from design to installation. He and his team were prompt and professional, and they delivered a quality product at the best price around. They were even able to accommodate slight design changes at the time of installation. I am an interior designer and would never recommend Severino and Son for Granite work for any of my clients in the future. I hired them to install a powder room vanity granite top and back splash that I ordered from one of their remnants. On installation their installers installed the top on the sink base off center, the sink was installed on the granite crooked and they glued the back splash to my clients newly painted wainscoating. When attempting to fix all of these problems and remove the back splash so the top could be positioned properly, they completely destroyed my clients custom wainscoating. When confronted about all of these issues and asked to reimburse the contractor that had to fix their destruction and reinstall the granite top, they initially agreed but when the time came to pay, they refused. In addition, they were 6 hours late when arriving to do the work and didn't call to let me or my clients know that there would be a change in their schedule. They are unprofessional and do not stand behind their work. I was embarrassed that I ever recommended them to my incredibly patient clients. Save yourself a lot of headaches and use someone else. read more

It was such a horrible experience it made me cry. I'm still upset about it a year later. Long story short we purchased granite for a countertop and island that was pulled out of another home. We were reassured many times it was the same color granite and John said over and over "it came from the same kitchen". Fast forward to install day John demanded money before the job was over and I nicely told him I would be happy to pay once the job was complete. He then stormed off yelling "I don't know what the problem is." That's where the problem began. The measurements were all off and the granite was not installed properly. My husband had to tell the installer what to do and it still wasn't done properly. And the worst part? The island granite was a different color granite as the counter and they are right next to each other!!!! My husband and I saved for years and years to create our dream basement bar and now it was ruined. John and his father that barely speaks english actually started a confrontation with us. Yelling and telling me I only have 1 house and he has four. (yes, he actually said that). I told them all to leave and they were yelling things all the way out the door and then standing by their car in my driveway and still yelling. I told them I would call the police if they didn't leave. And get this, we still paid them. So they yelled at my husband and I for no reason. They are unethical scam artists that don't know how to run a business. whatever you do, don't buy from them. The experience is upsetting to this day and we still have mismatched granite right next to each other. For reference, John is a short over weight balding man with a beard. Beware if you see him. Sorry I used this company because of the quality of granite and price. I work full-time, and had to work around their schedule at times. They forgot to come out one day and the other time they were about 5 hours late. Day of installation (summer 2015), the one section was too short. They did make a new section and brought it out the next day. The cut-out for my sink was wrong. I asked for the negative (overhang) profile and I got the flush reveal. My free sink is rusting already. The granite has a lot of pitting, and they told me it is normal with granite. The granite I had in my other house was smooth without pits. Harry took a few hundred dollars off the total (should of cut my bill in half for the inconveniences). Their estimate came in higher than the other 2 I received. I decided on them because I thought I'd get a nice job. Such a disappointment !!! However, I did like their showroom, nice selection. Oh, and I never received the updated estimate after the install, still waiting. smh read more

Disrespectful and inexperienced staff. I tried working with S&s called looking for some tile the woman that answered the phone didn't have a clue she asked me for the information several times . when she finally got it together she took my name and # said she would get back to me. In the mean time I called around to their dealers to locate what I needed(did their job for them) and got results.called them to tell them who had it in stock.I then told her the square ft. price that I was quoted,she must have referred it to her boss who then got on the phone and very crassly told me that he didn't want my business. I asked if it was because he wanted to charge me more than the fair price,he got really mad and hung up on me. I thought to myself this is costumer service? With the unemployment rate like it is I was shocked! The way I feel is Amy.B and Adam.S might just be the people that I spoke to. HORRIBLE!!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!! When i signed up with Mr. Severino I told him I saw a slab that I thought was pretty and asked if it could be honed. He called the wholesaler about the exact slab I wanted and said no problem. I relied on his expertise and professionalism to have a counter that was properly fabricated and installed. The person they sent out to template said he never templated before he usually just cuts stone. The stone arrived over a week after it was scheduled- The rails were cut to short the seams are HUGE and a different color than the stone! And 3 months after it was installed there is a crack in the stone! Severino came out a couple of times and said "He will never work with that type of stone again" He passed the blame onto the stone instead of admitting that THEY BUTCHERED the stone!!!!The son John, screamed at me multiple times and was told not to come to my home again. Mr. Severino said there was nothing he could do I should have chosen something else. If they did not know how to fabricate the stone properly they should have told me so I could have found someone who was qualified. Never was I told that the stone was difficult to work with. I was only told that they could do the job. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! I tried going through the BBB and was waiting for an arbitration hearing but Severino and son cancelled their relationship with the BBB therefore eliminating the chance of arbitration.
