We rang Seven Sevens to take us to our night out and were quoted 20 minutes -which is reasonable. 30 minutes later we rang, they said we'll be with you in 5-10 mins. 50 minutes later(!!) we rang back and asked where our taxi was- they said call another cab and then hung up on us. Poor customer service, no apology. Because of this we had to pay £8 into our venue rather than the £1 that it would have been if the taxi had picked us up within the time quoted. Never us this taxi company- worst ever. read more

Ok seven sevens The first time i had used this service was around mid december and it was a pleasant experience mind you it 5 in the morning and i had to get to work and i got there in 20 mins thanks to the driver but on the 1/1/17 2 am i rang for a taxi and the guy on the phone was really rude. I have a little stammer but he still swore at me then cut the phone off. How dispicable is that. Personally i want an apology, but what can you do. read more

Here's a scenario that has happened to me, and I'm sure it's happened to so many other people too: After a long heavy night of drinking, your phone has died and your friend has no local taxi numbers because they aren't from Birmingham. What do you do? Then suddenly you remember seven sevens! Seriously, what an ingenious name! They've got me home so many times in the early hours of the morning. And luckily, I've always been sober enough to press the '7' seven times. Also, this company knows most of the hidden venues that other taxis aren't sure of; so you don't have to worry about walking to the nearest monument in the dark, because seven sevens will pick you up straight outside. Additionally, the service has always got to me in record time, and I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for them, no matter where I am situated in Brum. The only downfall is the price for me. I've used them a couple of times for three very close drop offs, and the driver wanted £35! no thanks! read more

I have used this firm a lot and never really had any problems. They have been quick and efficient up until now. I needed a taxi for 2.30am to get 3 of my friends to Birmingham coach station for a bus to Heathrow airport. I rang and booked the taxi and was told 'no problem'. Getting a taxi for 2.30am gave 30 minutes for a 10 minute journey which even wth a slight delay would be fine- right? Wrong! After 6 calls and numerous chasing and being told a car was on it's way one arrived but not until 2.55am meaning there was no way my friends were going to make their bus. I explained to the driver our predicament and asked if he could make the second stop the bus would make at Birmingham airport which was due to be at 3.20am. He said he 'doubted it' and didn't know where the bus would stop if he did make it. Suffice to say he wasn't very helpful in trying to get my friends on the bus they needed. I was offered a £5 discount on the usual £25 fare to Birmgingham airport by the person I spoke to on my 6th call but by then it was too late. My friends said they would chance getting a later bus which wasn't until 4.30am so now I am sat home hoping they make their flight. My feedback from the issue described above is poor communication - if they couldn't make the time the taxi was booked for they shouldn't have said they could whereby I would have phoned another company. Instead I trusted them and was let down. On this basis unless I really have to I won't be using them again and will take my custom elsewhere. read more

Poor service. Unable to take me to an early morning coach to Luton Airport despite calling them plenty of time in advance. I had 5 phone calls with operator and the driwer, who were telling me all the time they were coming in minute. Finally I missed my coach after taking this 3 minutes drive within 28 minutes! The driver refused to take me to Birmingham Airport to catch my coach. I had to wake up my wife who took me to Luton, with our 2 years old sitting at the back, at 5 AM. No response to my letter of complaint, not even a sorry. I will never use them again. read more

Absolutely disgusting service, always late, rude and arrogant staff members. Typical journey with this company. Me: Get in car, Driver: Silence -end of journey- More silence... Me: Um, so yeah how much? Driver: How much you normally pay? Me: You tell me? your a taxi company Driver: Ok £9 Me: I paid £5.50 on the way here. Had the most appalling customer service this morning, rang to cancel a taxi and every time I started with "I rang for a taxi earlier..." the operator would hang up on me. Then when of course the taxi turned up that I didn't need, I informed the driver that I had rung to cancel and he just started swearing and cursing at me! Then repeatedly rang me back (having informed seven sevens that I was not at the pick up point) to shout obscenities at me such as "you're mum's a bitch". I can't ring them to inform them of this because every time I start explaining the situation to an operator they hang up on me. I am horrified at the service and as much as I understand it can be frustrating to get to a pick up point and not find your passenger, I did everything I could and do not deserve that kind of disgusting abuse. I think it's fair to say I will never be using seven sevens again. read more

Rang up well in advance to book a large people carrier taxi for 8 people and was told that wouldn't be a problem. 10 minutes after the taxi was due I got a call from a driver saying he was the 'second taxi' (6 seater) but he would be late because he was still 4 miles away in Selly Oak. This driver arrived 20 minutes later to take half of us into town. Made another 5 calls over the next hour or so, being told each time that the taxi was 'just round the corner', '2 minutes away' etc. Another taxi eventually arrived well over an hour late, drove us round the corner and promptly pulled up to demand payment before taking us anywhere. Another 10 minute delay followed during which he made us speak to the depot before he eventually drove us (a long way round) to our destination. Pathetic. read more

Here is a complaint letter I would like to inform you of the disgusting behaviour of one of your drivers on Monday 20th May. Myself and some friends where enjoying are night and seceded to call your company for a taxi to a club, upon the taxis arrival we all got in, in good spirits, and just as the driver set off questioned as to the price of the fair. The taxi driver in question names his price and we gently query the price with the driver, in the same way that EVERYONE who gets a taxi will question the price at the beginning of the journey. The result of this questioning was to have the driver become aggressive swerve over to the side of the road and told us to ring the office, which I proceeded to do, also telling the driver that we would pay him the price he quoted but he carried on becoming more aggressive. Upon ringing the office I spoke to an operator and told him the situation, reiterating that we had agreed to pay the price that the drive had demanded and the operator told me that that was fine he would ring the driver and tell him as such. This did not happen however; the driver continued to threaten us and opened the doors to move us out of the cab. I rang your operator again where he completely changed his attitude and proceeded to tell me that it was my fault that the driver was acting aggressive and threatening; now I was not aware that it was procedure in your company to lose your temper and throw people out on the side of the road when they query a fair. The driver would not refrain from his shouting even when I tried to talk to him in a calm voice he just continued to aggressively argue back, even making remarks like 'I'm not driving drunk students' now I would like to point out not only am I not a student I was also not drunk and as such was shocked by the audacity and rudeness of your driver. To sum up I am appalled by the actions of your driver and I hope you have the courage to bring in some form of disciplinary action, he managed to ruin a night that was meant to be the end of stress for my friends and personally I this customer service is thrown out the window when a taxi driver shouts in your face just because u query a fair. read more

Birmingham has countless taxi firms offering their services to the residents of the second city, whether it's to a midday business meeting or a late night taxi home, no matter where you are, you can be sure a taxi company will be available. I've used plenty in my years in the city, and Seven Seven Cars are some of the best. Living in Selly Oak, there are a few alternatives (including the woeful Castle Cars, check out my review of them for an epic tale of exceptionally bad business), but the consistently best service I've encountered is that of Seven Seven Cars. They're prompt, taxis always arrive quickly, and the drivers stick to the prices agreed on the phone (generally £7 to New Street from Selly Oak, appropriately enough). My one negative experience was trying to call a taxi from Moseley, when the controller on the phone was very impatient and short with me when telling me that they didn't have any cars available. I'd still recommend them tenfold over the abomination of Castle Cars. read more

I usually have had good service from Seven Seven's but after what I have experienced with them I will never use them again. I phoned up the day before to book at taxi to new st from selly oak at 5:45am, the taxi was 15 mins later and at that time in the morning there is literally no excuse. Due to this I missed my train and had to pay for a new one and was late for the conference I was attending. When trying to get some sort of refund from them for this awful experience it was again handled appalingly and I felt no one was going to do anything to about it and after countless phone calls to them to get anything I have not recieved anything from them. hudge lack of communication and customer services. Like their sister company, 247, of whom they are a part of, 777 7777 are unreliable, mendacious and discourteous. I had a previous issue with 247 when I needed a taxi to get to work and the driver went to the wrong address, the manager claimed that I was wrong and the driver had shown up. When I finally did get a taxi he had little respect for road safety or my own and was busy talking to his friend on the phone. He then claimed that he would go past the Edgbaston Cricket ground to get me to work, he went no where near, he didn't even bother to ask which way I suggested we went. When we finally got to my destination I was charged his rate which was for the longer journey. I felt then that I had been treated with contempt so was very wary about phoning to call any 247 related taxi company again. I was told that a taxi would be with me in about ten minutes and that the driver would phone me. Mo taxi no phone call/ Yet again I was let down by the company. It appears that the standard of service of some taxi companies in Birmingham is plummeting drastically. Are they not regulated by Birmingham City Council to ensure that their standards of customer care and customer service is adequate? read more

Called them very early in the afternoon to make sure I book a taxi for 3am as my family had to make it to the coach station. The guy assured me everything is booked and quoted me a price. My family waited outside in the rain between 2:50am and 3:20am, but the taxi never arrived. Called the company, only to hear that taxi has been there at 3am but left as no one was outside. I think my soaking wet family would disagree. Shameless liars and cheats. People like this should not be allowed to conduct business. read more

Fucking awful. Charged the three of us £20 to get £5 miles then tried to charge the third person a further £10, and when she disputed it and got out to go to the cash machine deserted her. Avoid like the plague. read more

I have never used this company before and a friend suggested I call. I had been drinking but wasn't drunk enough to miss how disgraceful their service is. I called asking for a taxi at 1:20 am, they said 15 minutes. Over the space of the next hour I had 4 calls from 4 different mobile numbers saying they were delayed and it would be 10 more minutes. Within the hour I called them back to asked where the taxi was, at one point they said all the sevens are busy and to try to call all the sixes (0121 666 6666) and hung up, so i called and the same person answered the phone!! They were making fun of me when I said I kept getting calls from different numbers telling me each time it would be 10 more minutes the man on the phone kept saying "ooh thats strange hmmm" no apology for it being delayed or any solution. I called again for the final time and told them to cancel the taxi as I'd called another company. He said "fine" and hung up. I called another taxi company and they arrived in 10 minutes. Eventually the original 777 taxi arrived and called me, I said to the driver I had cancelled it and preceded to get abusive text messages saying how I'd wasted their time and i was a liar .... these were over an hour after I originally called them, and cancelled it. I wont be using them ever again. read more
