I've used Seven Corners multiple times, but never needed to make a claim, so, I believed they were reputable. However, recently, my flight was completely cancelled by the Airlines and I lost an entire day of my trip, and that led to losing the cost of a full night of lodging. I tried rebooking my flight and even begging the inn to have mercy, but their policy is no mercy. I thought, Seven is supposed to be good and honest, so I got the letter from the Airlines showing the flight was cancelled, and thus, I was delayed getting to Ireland and forced to lose money. Nevermind the wasted gas, and food thanks to being at the airport on a beautiful sunny day before my flight was cancelled. Seven sent a rejection letter with no real explanation and a fake apology for rejecting the claim. The policy cost way more than the one night of lodging. They are still making a killing on me. I'll be on the lookout for a company with policy holders who've had to make claims moving forward. It's nice to know I was risking my wellbeing and financial future under Seven Corners. read more

I thought that I would have a special seat arrangement on the plane, and would recoup the money I paid for the hotel in Costa Rica ($2,000+), but SEVEN CORNERS advised me that the policy had expired although I did file the Fit to Fly/accident report on time. The hospital took too long to forward the Medical Records to Seven Corners, and while taking Morphine, etc., I was in no condition to monitor these types of things. In my mind, as long as I filed their forms and the "Fit to Fly" form, I thought I was ready to go. I won't be getting a refund from my Costa Rica Hotel money, nor will have a special seat on the airplane to go back to San Diego. My mobility level requires assistance, and don't know anyone in Miami. I will be released from inpatient PT rehab in a couple of days and am in no condition to fly on my own. I recently had a very frustrating experience with Squaremouth.com and Seven Corners, a travel insurance broker they recommend. Seven Corners website markets comprehensive coverage, but the reality is far from it. When I needed to file a claim, I found out that their "fine print" excludes almost everything that would justify coverage. This is misleading and dishonest. Squaremouth.com advertises a satisfaction guarantee and when I provided evidence of these deceptive advertising practices by their recommended travel insurance company, they sided with Seven Corners and no changes were made to the way they do business. If I don't hear from them this week I am planning to file a BBB complaint, report them to the Federal Trade Commission and ask Forbes to amend the article recommending them. If you have also been scammed by this company please consider doing this as well and feel free to message me on the process to do so. My return flight was cancelled at the last minute and I was initially grateful I paid extra for travel insurance as hotel prices were crazy and I was stuck in a foreign country. I called and messaged to try and get in contact with them to make sure I was within coverage limits and ended up on the phone for over six hours trying to talk to someone. I was hung up on multiple times and ultimately told that based on policy documents it should be covered but they wouldn't give a definitive answer which was frustrating. Paid $200 for the insurance that claimed to cover lost baggage, baggage delays. Well- Turns out that due to flight delays, my bags never made it to my final destination in Barcelona Spain. The insurance representatives were NO HELP. They asked me to complete several forms, all in which I did. And not a single reply back. IT HAS BEEN 1 YEAR SINCE MY TRIP. Buyer Beware! I just noticed my experience is similar to so many other bad reviews this company has. Travel insurance companies are regulated by your state and I strongly urge you to report this company to your state department of licenses. I can see from all these similar complaints that this company may be a scam. They seem to have a "drip campaign" in which you do not hear from them, only to find they need something else when you contact them. When you call for a status they ask for a piece of information, then "crickets", you hear nothing for weeks/months. The last bit of information they asked me for was my birthdate?? They seem to be employing some kind of delay tactic, blaming COVID and understaffing, hoping you will just give up. I submitted my travel claim 7/8/2022. I filed my claim almost 5 months ago! Since then I have spent countless hours with customer service trying to get my claim processed. I even asked to have it expedited for financial reasons. Nothing. For starters, I spent several weeks communicating and sending documentation to wrong companies who had received my claim. It seemed my claim was being sent around to several wrong companies, perhaps a Starr Insurance (?) and then 2 other companies called Squaremouth and Broadspire. I spent hours filling out my claim information on these incorrect online sites, sending followup emails and speaking with their service reps. I was then told by a company, perhaps Starr, to contact Seven Corners, again sending all my documentation to their site. After going back and forth regarding details of my submittal, including the absence of my bank's logo on my online bank statement, which the bank does not provide, I was assured I would get my refund in early October. When I called, about the 8th time for a status, I was told I needed to sign a "Disclosure to Release Funds" which I was asked to send as, surprisingly, it hadn't been sent to me. Had I not called, I probably would still be waiting for it. I returned it and heard nothing but "You will receive an email notice when we send your check." Last week I sent another email to check on the status and received an email that "we need the member's date of birth". Surely they have it and if not, John Hancock surely would have it. This seems like a "drip campaign", a series of innocuous requests from Seven Corners, over 5 months, to avoid payment. From my dealings in the business world , my experience here has been absolutely horrendous. I've heard excuses due to "long refund times", using COVID as an excuse, understaffing, etc. You would certainly think a company would have increased their staff due to anticipation of increased claims from COVID. Terrible coverage! I made several small claims (less than $250 each) because of cancelled flights which meant the loss of prepaid rental car and lodging. I submitted my claims right away with all necessary documentation from the airline and invoices for the lost rental car/lodging usage only to be told that prepaid expenses cannot be reimbursed for travel delays. Unbelievable. Plus I had to resubmit one of the claims because it never showed up on their website. Make sure you are buying coverage that you can actually use. read more

First, ALWAYS TRUST YELP. Don't trust any other site about reviews. It was a Forbes article that brought me to Seven Corners and I should have looked them up on Yelp first before purchase. I hate writing bad reviews but this is essential. I purchased an ELITE travel policy for Seven Corners and their customer service since submitting my claim has been abysmal. They tell you to go online to see the status of your claim. I've been doing so and until recently within the last 24 hours, my login e-mail brings up a policy that belongs to ANOTHER PERSON. Yes, they're sharing ANOTHER PERSON'S personal information with me. There are so many problems with this it's unbelievable. So much for privacy and makes me wonder if my personal information is being shared with another complete stranger. I've been trying for the last TWO WEEKS to speak to a person. I wait and wait and wait to speak to someone after a 30 minute wait their system throws you into VM. I've left 4 messages over the last 2 weeks and NOT ONE has been returned. This company is a joke and are scamming people. I plan to leave a review at the BBB. In April 2019, I joined Compass Expeditions on a motorbike trip through in Australia, paying more than $12,000 for the tour. Compass Expeditions listed Seven Corners Travel Insurance on their website as their provider. Sorry that I didn't think to check Yelp before signing up with Seven Corners for their 'Round Trip Elite cancel for any reason' policy. I received the policy prior to departure. You know it's bad when the very first three pages lists their grievance policy in case of denial. Of the ten participants on our trip, five were seriously injured (another story). I was one of them. The tour operator supposedly called them from the accident scene with his satellite phone, then yelled in front of every one, "You're covered!" Three of the five injured were Australians who had free healthcare. The fourth was another American, who had a different insurance company. His insurance company flew him back to the United States with a sprained ankle while I was left lying alone in Alice Springs with a fractured vertebrate and ankle, and vertigo, with no contact from Seven Corners. It was not possible to call them from their 800 AT&T contact number (can't call 800 from outside the United States). I contacted Seven Corners via email and received an automated response. WhatsApp'ed my family who then called Seven Corners. No effort was made by the company to contact me. Wearing a neck brace, XcelTrak boot, and balancing on crutches, I got to the airport, flew to Adelaide (six hour layover), then to Sydney (thirteen hour layover), then to LAX (fourteen hour flight in Virgin's uncomfortable seats, made tolerable by CODALGIN FORTE ), then a FlyAway bus to my car at the Van Nuys parking lot; then a six hour drive back home to Bishop, but not before backing into a car at CostCo in Lancaster, to pick up a new dog bed. Thanks Seven Corners for not being there. After I got back and filed the claim, among the obscure things I was asked to provide the Seven Corners adjuster was a passport entry stamp. Passports and Visas are all done electronically now, so there are no stamps, but I just happened to ask for a stamp in my passport book. Though I sent copies of the hospital medical records to Seven Corners three times, they have withheld all trip interruption payments on my claim citing no records from the hospital. That is Seven Corners in a nutshell. Yelpers, do not buy into their website. There are plenty of other travel insurance companies to deal with. read more

I purchased Seven Corners travel insurance for a nonrefundable 8 night vacation. I really wanted the cancel for any reason clause added to my policy and they have the best version of this I could find. As our trip date came near we had many things in life happen our of our control, so we had to cancel using the any reason clause. I called in to file the claim and the customer service rep walked me through the claims process. She sent me forms and told me what I needed to upload for the claims agent. I filed the claim on Febuary 2 and the money was in my account today. I would give 5 stars but it took awhile to process a straight forward claim. Just like with anything you purchase, read the details, so you know what is covered and what is excluded. I knew filing the using the "any reason" I would only get 75% of the cost. They do pay claims, but just like many businesses in the current climate, they seem to be short staffed on the claims side. I remembered to write this reviews after I somehow saw this company recommended in Forbes as one of the most reliable travel health insurance companies. My experience was nothing of the sort. 4 years ago I bought their insurance for my mother in law which was visiting from Ukraine. She got a rather bad case of skin allergy so we visited a dermatologist which we found from seven corner's own network. We then picked up the medicine from a participating pharmacy which I had per company's policy pay 100% out of my pocket(400$) and then submit papers to get back money for. They asked for a ton of paper but the most ridiculous thing is they kept asking for the doctor's papers to be sent to them. Somehow an insurance company is unable to obtain documents for an insurance claim of a doctor from their own network? I contacted doctors office l don't remember how many times and they insisted they had faxed them the papers requested while seven corners denied that. I tend to believe the doctor's office over them. In the end I had to get an apostilled order of release from my mother in law(who had flown back to Ukraine in the meanwhile) , get copy of her papers from doctor's office and fax AND email them to them myself. Then they finally managed to get them but still refused to pay cause something something was wrong with my bank info. A month later I get this sorted out though and finally got paid. A lesser person would have given up the bother for 300$ but noone is scamming me! The icing on the cake? We bought the Cover America Gold travel plan (a Seven Corners product) for my wife's parents' visit from Brazil. This was based on recommendations from several websites -- however all of those reviews had affiliate purchase links on them, so I was not sure whether to trust them or not. I did not think to look them up on Yelp before purchasing. My wife's mother ended up with a serious ear infection, that required four doctor visits and several expensive prescriptions. Maybe $1500 in total costs? It was at that point I found these Yelp reviews, and started getting pretty nervous. However, the doctors took the insurance card without any trouble, the customer service agent I spoke to was extremely friendly and helpful, and filing the claims for the prescription reimbursements was very easy. It took about three months for everything to go through, but the doctors were all paid by Seven Corners, and we were reimbursed for the prescriptions (after the deductible on the policy, of course). So, bottom line, at least for our relatively small claim, everything worked as expected. That being said, based on all of these other reviews, I would never use them again, because the risk seems too high. read more

We finally get a check in the mail for a fraction of the amount claimed (1/8th) with basically five words explaining the payout. I provided pages and pages of documentation as to our losses and expenses, too... The customer (me) played by all your rules and then some -- but you take months to reply and drop the ball with coverage with basically zero explanation? We paid in full and were sold a cancellation insurance policy for my son's trip through EF Explore who canceled the trips twice despite other people still traveling during this time. 2 years later my son no longer attends the school and EF only wants to offer a voucher for the full amount. They refunded all but $350 and told me directly that I would need to file a claim for all but the registration I paid them from Seven Corners and the policy amount for trip insurance for the $150. I filed a claim in early October. On October 20 I finally received a response they needed more information which was sent immediately. I did not get a response until I reached out on their Facebook post about their family game room with a ping pong table in mid January. They said Covid made things too busy to promptly respond to claims (I think ping pong was the culprit) and they promptly denied they claim as fast as they took my money stating that the child no longer at the school qualified as a cancellation covered. They did not respond for months and when a review was left they responded with a denied claim and money not refunded is for work that we never received the benefits from. What I was told by EF was not what was sold to me. Between the coordinated effort between the two companies, they make the process as difficult as possible so you will give up. Do not use this company and save your money on the insurance. They replied to my review with a send us your information so we can explain the policy and the EF is a 3rd party vendor. Once again dismissing the point that I was sold one thing and received another. I responded back and my negative review stands. I have had a terrible experience with both Seven Corners and EF Tours. We had to miss our connecting flight because the airport immigration kiosks were shut down for an hour. Joining the Club of Denials. 19LCL19-10934 On April 27 our flight barely landed in Calgary.CA in blizzard conditions. 62 departure and 28 arriving flights were canceled. after waiting over 90 days the 1st. Denial comes in " Trip Interruption benefits must be arranged by Seven Corners Assist. Failure to utilize Seven Corners Assist will result in the denial of benefits." So I explain and send a screen shot where I tried to call them over 10 times on three different phone lines. The two hotels next to the Airport are now filled. So I made my own accommodations at the next closest hotel along with ten others on my flight, Dressed for Phoenix in a Blizzard. 2nd Denial "I understand your frustration but the policy you purchased is primarily a medical policy and not a trip cancellation policy. This instance would not qualify as a trip interruption as it does not meet the criteria outlined in the policy. How a Blizzard does not Qualify is beyond me, Ok lets play their game it was a Natural Disaster. Save your money and go with an insurance provider that is more trustworthy. My husband and I had a trip to Japan booked for April 2020. Unfortunately, Covid happened and we could not go. We were able to get our airfare, hotel and all other charges refunded with the exception of the Jrail passes that we purchased online. I made several attempts to contact them and left numerous voicemail messages which were never returned. I even went to their office in Long Beach twice - which was closed. When I finally got a response from them via email, I was told that my tickets had expired and that I could no longer get a refund. This would not have been the case, had they been responsive to all my earlier attempts to contact them. As I had previously purchased travel insurance with Seven Corners, I filed a claim for the $542 cost of the vouchers. After waiting several weeks, answering several questions and providing multiple documents, I was informed by their claims advisor that my claim was denied because the underlying cause for the cancellation was Covid related. I find that to be in very poor faith. Covid was not even an issue when I purchased my policy. What is the point of having travel insurance if they don't provide any protection at all. I purchased a travel insurance for my mom and had to take her to two different providers in regards to her knee pain I received letter from my service provider 3 months later that my insurance carrier wants information from me to process the claim. Next day, I call them,,,The CSR says that they need a PHI disclosure form to talk to me coz the insurance was for my mother. I totally get it and get that form signed by mom who is in different time zone and send it to seven corners. Next day, I call again and tell them what information you need from me to process the claim. They say its not me its the provider who has to send medical records. I call back both the providers and they say no they have no such information and its me who has to call and provide the information. Today i call seven corners again and told them that they need to clear it out. I am not sure why I have to do their job of calling the doctors...I haven't yet passed my due date for bill but I am not supposed to contact the provider if seven corners need information from them. If you cant process the claims don't fool us when we are buying the insurance. Like many others on the site- I can confirm seven corners is a total fraud company- they do not pay claims and claim everything is a pre-existing conditions. Moreover, I can't even file a complaint since their underwriter is NOT EVEN BASED IN THE UNITED STATES! My mom was visiting for a couple months and got a urinary tract infection. I would consider this a new sickness, and the physicians consider this a new sickness... but seven corners somehow relates it to my moms diabetes and left ME HOLDING THE BAG FOR $8,000 in medical bills! I took a chance on this company and regretted it. DO NOT LET THIS CHEAP INSURANCE THINK YOU ARE COVERED. Big No No to this company, I don't even know if it's a real company or fake! I purchased a health insurance from Seven Corners months ago, I paid nearly $500 I had to go to the ER 2 times during my trip, -A centipede bite from my throat and -Stomach Spasms Neither of the doctor visits were covered by Seven Corners and I still have not been given a reason a reason why. Seven Corner's excuse for this is that they haven't received the doctor's notes in 6 months even though I confirmed that the hospital sent the notes to the Seven Corners multiple times. Not only that, they denied our claim without giving a reason. They tried so hard to get away from the situation, I think their intention is to fool you and steal your time until you finally give up and decide to pay your bills on your own. On top of that they are giving me the run around and trying to make me do their job for them by calling all the doctors everyday. I still am not sure if this company is a fake company or a company who just doesn't do anything for the customers. I've been waiting 6 months so far and I've been spending 5-6 hours every week with them on the phone and still getting no answers about what they have done. 1.In the medical records, they indicate a 1cm lump in the right breast, left breast pain, and other negligible (less than 1cm) lumps in the left breast. The size of a lump that is measured can give some indication as to how long the lump has been there, if it is benign or malignant, etc., and from that information, our medical review team can determine if this existed prior to the effective date of the policy (i.e. would it have started to grow before the effective date). -what happened to the 3 cm lump? Did it not fit your cenario? -Is pain not a good enough reason to see a doctor? -You can't tell when it started to grow. And with this rational you wouldn't cover anything. Heart attack - oh well the buildup in your ateries takes years so this is prexisting. 2.The denial was initially triggered by a medical review that determined this lump existed prior to the effective date of the policy. These conditions do not need to be known, manifested, treated for, etc. prior to the member receiving treatment for them. Also, it was indicated that there was a known history of lumps in your breast; with that a determination can be made that you have experienced breast pain and lumps prior to the effective date of the policy. -No in fact I don't have a history of lumps. -Holy crap. The lump could have existed prior without any signs or treatment and thus you won't cover it. With this clause you wouldn't have to cover anything ever. (also not in the contract) So after holding my claim for 5 months you are now going to twist this so it can be denied. So $180 for coverage and $720 for medical expenses = $900. $900 gone and hours of my time spent on the phone with your customer service providing no service. read more

If I could give this company a 0 or negative I would. Not really sure why anyone else would give it higher. I purchased a policy as I was traveling with two other people, we divided up the work of organizing. Them of the others was in a terrible accident and we could not go. I filled out the claim and after much back an forth, over a month, they told me that I had not given the correct cancellation date and so nothing was covered. Be VERY sure to read all the fine print and know that they will NOT be helpful. I recommend that no one purchase this travel insurance. read more

Al I can say is run from Seven Corners. I don't know what is going on, but I receive an email every 3 weeks with apologies and responses like I see in these reviews for a claim I filed the end of November for about $200 only Thank God. Every 3 weeks they say they will update me every 3 weeks. I am never using the travel agency that recommended them again either. However, I will not give up because of the principle. Scammers need to be held accountable... I had another claim earlier in the year for a cancelled flight using another insurance company - refund within weeks. Nine months after suffering a major hospitalization on my trip, they keep asking every two months for more meaningless documentation like the recent request for the entry and exit stamps on my passport. They are not to be trusted. They are fundamentally unreliable. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. I filed a claim in July and have yet to get a payment. I've called multiple times and each time am told "a couple more weeks" and that they'll "escalate" my claim. No communication. I feel that this company is a scam. I will keep on them, but may have to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and my State General Attorney. read more
