Had an appointment at 10:35am in a Saturday morning and arrived at 10:39am. When I came in, I told the lady at the front desk "sorry I'm a little late" and she acknowledged me. I checked in at the kiosk as usual and then I sat down thinking nothing unusual, but after 20 minutes of seeing people come in after me and leaving while I was sitting there waiting, I went up to the same lady I spoke to when I arrived, and after I asked why I wasn't being seen, the lady just asked me my name and said I was next. So I finally got seen at 11:04am, and I'm in a bad mood. Luckily I had Sarah, and she was super nice and understanding after I told her I was sitting in the lobby for over 20 minutes. After the quick procedure, I checked out with the lady at the front desk and I asked her what happened to cause me to wait so long and she said "sorry about that" and that I wasn't checked in. Really? Why does this place even have a kiosk? This was my second time here. My first time was a lot better, with friendlier staff and a much more efficient experience. This second visit was weird. At my most recent visit, I was charged $168 without being informed beforehand or asked for approval. I only found out after the charge was already made. This is completely unacceptable!!!! Having a card on file does not give permission to charge without clear communication or consent. It is also concerning that I was allowed to book and receive the service without anyone notifying me that my package had expired. Had I known the price I would not have proceeded. When I contacted customer service, I was told it was my responsibility to track sessions, which contradicts the way this has been handled in prior visits. I've been a loyal SEV customer for 6-8 years, first at their NY location and then religiously at the Long Beach, SoCal branch for the past three. I love my nurses--they do an incredible job with my full-body laser--but SEV's upper management and customer service leave much to be desired. Recently, I had a frustrating experience with Jasmine and Ariel in customer relations when I simply asked if my husband and I could share an 8-session full-body package. Since we both get full-body treatments every 10 weeks, this would allow us to finish the package sooner and purchase another one even faster--meaning SEV still gets paid upfront and would actually make more from us in the long run. Instead of any consideration or even a professional, empathetic response, I was met with a dismissive and rude reply: "Don't try to push an outcome you're not going to receive." Excuse me? A long-term, loyal customer simply making a request deserves at least some courtesy, if not an alternative solution. It's disappointing that SEV prioritizes rigid policies over customer experience, especially when their approach makes no business sense. I've been going to Sev Laser in Hermosa Beach for several months now and it's my favorite spot for laser hair treatments. Parking is not an issue due to a parking garage located across the street and parking that can be found in the back of the store as well as street parking. Service has always been informative and quick. I'm always called promptly to get my treatment done and the people there are knowledgeable about time between treatments. They are also affordable and have various different treatments to pick from. I've had great results so far. Highly recommend! read more

I had a laser appointment at the Hermosa Beach location and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I paid $100 for a full upper lip session and a 10-minute touch-up, but the entire treatment lasted around 3 minutes total. All treated areas--including the upper lip--were barely treated, and there were no visible results immediately after the appointment. This did not match what was explained or paid for. I've been going to Sev since 2017. Love the services, love the results. Over the years there have been price increases - but the most recent price hike between 2024 and now (Feb 2025) is absolutely insane. Apparently they increased this January but the company did not warn its customers beforehand. No texts, phone calls, or even an email. For example my underarms (a 3-5 minute service area) that cost me $50 in December 2024, was $79 today. That's nearly a 60% increase. Again, I've been coming here forever and I really looked forward to trying new areas this year, but it's not even remotely affordable like it used to be & I find it disrespectful on behalf of the company to treat it's loyal customers this way. read more

This rating is based solely on the front desk receptionist name "Ivy" I'm not sure that her real name is Ivy because when I called corporate to make a complaint while I was still there they informed me that I was receiving text from Brandy's account. I received a message 2 minutes into my appointment because I was running late, I was actually parking, at that point so I responded and said I was parking. When I walked into the location I was not greeted, however I spoke and told her my name and said that I was running late for my 5:30 appointment. She told me to sign into the iPad and as I was signing into the iPad she made a smart comment and I politely asked her who text me from the 424 number, because I'm aware that I was behind & I also let them know I was parking. She pics up a device and say "it was me and I'm not responsible for you being late and you not being able to get to your appointments on time" at that time I asked for a manager or another receptionist because her attitude, demeanor and response was completely offensive and off putting. She said "it's only me here & there is no one else to help you" I asked her what her name was and she said "it's Ivy, I-V-Y incase you need to spell it" at this time I could tell that she was being completely condescending and I could not think of any other reason besides me being African American. I asked her what her problem was because she was being extremely disrespectful and her attitude was horrible & for her to be in costumer service her actions were completely out of line. I knew she was trying to get a reaction of of me but I remained calm and informed her that I would be calling in to speak with corporate instead of dealing with her because she made me extremely uncomfortable. I received a Groupon package from my husband as a Christmas gift a year ago. The package included six sessions for underarms and Brazilian laser hair removal. After completing all six sessions, I expected to need additional treatments for the Brazilian area since it's a larger region, but I was surprised to see little to no results in my underarms. This was especially odd because all my friends who've done underarm treatments saw significant results after just six sessions. What makes this even more frustrating is that Sev Laser is highly recommended by so many celebrities who rave about their services and advertise it heavily. That's part of why I was so excited to try Sev in the first place I expected great results based on the reputation they've built. My husband purchased the Groupon because I'd been talking about wanting laser treatments at Sev due to the positive feedback I'd heard from others. He thought the Groupon deal would be a good way to get started. However, I can't help but feel like the quality of service or care might be different for Groupon customers compared to those who pay full price. Of course, that's just my assumption, but I was really disappointed with the lack of results. The receptionists are always super friendly and they make sure to explain everything to you and make your next appointment. I've been consistently on their schedule for about 2 years now. I am only getting the laser hair removal treatment for my face. I am not allowed to have facial hair for my job and shaving everyday was causing a lot of acne and ingrown hair on my face. Then my wife suggested I try laser hair removal and she likes SEV Laser. Since then, I've been hooked. My acne is nowhere to be found and I can go weeks without shaving. I've had other male friends interested because of how great my skin looks. The nurses and administration staff are all amazing, helpful, and really nice. This facility is really good, so their schedule is pretty full. Small but never had issues. One thing that can improve is their booking system. I recommend booking your appointments ahead of time because they tend to be fully booked. I had laser done years ago on my underarms and it was painful when the first technology came out so I was hesitant to do my bikini line and underarms again.
