I just finished my 8th and last treatment at LaserAway for treatments on my underarms, Brazilian, and legs, and I want to highlight how amazing the nurses are. They are always professional, gentle, and make the entire experience feel comfortable and efficient. My hair is practically all gone. However, the front desk experience takes away from that. The upselling is quite aggressive and doesn't always stop after you've clearly declined. While I understand that recommending services is part of the role, there should be more awareness of when a client is not interested. A more balanced and respectful approach would really elevate the overall experience. I would still return because of the quality of care from the nurses, but this is definitely an area for improvement. The machines were extremely painful -- far worse than what was explained to me beforehand -- and I saw no positive results. In fact, the hair appeared to grow back thicker. I raised concerns during my appointments and was later told that the treatment may not even work effectively for me. Despite that, I was still locked into the contract. When I decided to stop due to the pain and lack of results, I requested help and a refund. Instead of support, I was met with resistance and dismissive responses. I contacted corporate multiple times hoping someone would actually review my case fairly -- but there was no real effort to resolve the issue. No accountability. No meaningful assistance. It feels like once they secure your signature and payment, that's all that matters. Their customer service after purchase is extremely disappointing. If you experience issues, do not expect flexibility, understanding, or refunds -- even if the treatment is not working for you. Do your research carefully before signing anything. I originally went in for tattoo removal and purchased a package. I bought another package for a second tattoo during my first visit, and then purchased a package of facial treatments. I have used 2 out of the 6 treatments I have purchased over a year and a half ago because I just don't like going there. Every single time I'm there, someone tries to show me another package or upgrade and offer another "expiring special" or push me to get something I'm not interested in. I'm sure it's part of the business model to sell more every time but it's extremely off-putting. Just let me finish my treatments and be happy before pushing for thousands up front. read more

I will never return to the Hermosa Beach LaserAway location after this experience. After one tattoo removal treatment, I realized the process was much more involved and long-term than I originally understood. I requested cancellation within less than 24 hours and only asked for a prorated refund for unused services. I immediately submitted support requests, followed up by email and phone, and attempted to resolve the issue directly with the store and management. Despite being a returning customer, the Hermosa Beach location refused to issue the refund and instead offered store credit or other services I did not want. The issue was eventually resolved through my credit card company after I provided documentation showing how quickly I requested cancellation and that I was only disputing unused services. Also, parking at this location is horrendous and you have to pay for parking, which only added to the frustration of the overall experience. I never physically signed anything in person, so before approving any credit card or financing payment, make sure you carefully read all terms, conditions, cancellation policies, and refund policies. I was seriously considering getting CoolSculpting done at LaserAway, but my experience with their pricing and credit process was incredibly disappointing. Initially, I was given a specific price quote, which seemed fair, so I agreed to move forward. They took all my personal information and even ran a credit check for financing approval. My excellent credit was approved without issue. But then -- conveniently after running my credit -- the representative informed me that there was a "mistake" in the original quote and the actual price was higher. How convenient that the pricing error surfaced only after accessing my credit profile. It felt like a bait-and-switch tactic, and I can't help but question how accidental that "mistake" really was. I value transparency and honesty when making decisions about my health and finances, and unfortunately, this experience made me lose trust in LaserAway. There was no discount which I later learned, no cash or check payments (everything is financed?) and not just for the amount of the loan but for thousands of $$ more then requested. Ok, where do I begin ! I saw a few ads on ig, and I toggled with the idea of getting lazer removal well over 5 years. I just never buckled down and did it. Well, the opportunity arose, and I grew gusty and filled out a questionnaire. Colleen reached out frequently, letting me know the different sales they had going on. To me, I would not lie it was all foreign to me. The questions began: Where do you want lazer ? Me, my face ! I have had hair on my face and just grew tired of waxing and plucking when Colleen explained that all it takes is 6 to 8 visits. I did not feel so much pressure in text as I did walking in to get my lazer done. All financials and appointments were all done on the cell. I walked in for my appointment on April 12,2024, at 1:30 pm. folks, I was not ready. I was in a horrible mind frame when I arrived for an appointment and could not reschedule. I had just lost my furbaby. However, I was still trying to make the best out of it. Upon entering, I arrived 20 minutes early. The traffic was not that bad, I was soon asked to sit in this room where I had a Zoom chat with a nurse to make sure everything was good to go and to check medications. I am getting upper lip lowerchin and jaw line. I've only been there once I have. I'm hoping for fantastic results, meaning hair free. I was called to the back a woman, Eris came and got me she explained she would be doing my procedure and that it takes a whole whopping 5 minutes. She gently placed goggles on my eyes, and she bagan the lazer. I was very timid and really didn't know what to ask. But you can bet your bottom dollar. I will be asking many questions. I also want to point out that LA takes client safety very seriously. Clients can choose between the type of protective eyewear that the RNs use so they can see to perform the service or between totally occlusive goggles, which seem to be like the kind you use in a tanning bed. I always choose the occlusive goggles because I had eye surgery and AMA, I used "regular eclipse glasses" that were fine for everyone else but weren't protective enough for me (because I've had laser eye surgery and my cornead are much thinner than normal), and I experienced pain when I glanced at the solar eclipse (2024, I think). I say AMA because it said right there on the eclipse glasses not to use them if you've had eye surgery! Well you know... I just had to try anyway! And gosh darn it, the manufacturer was correct: I did experience eye pain when I looked at the eclipse! (DUH!!!!) That's why I said I glanced at it because, having read that warning, I was prepared for the possibility of pain, and I knew to immediately stop viewing the eclipse. So that is why I've always chosen the occlusive goggles. FFWD several months, to winter 2024, and at 54 years of age and after suffering from myoclonic jerking from my waist sobre 2016, I was finally diagnosed with Simple Partial Epilepsy!!! WTH???!!! I don't know how my two previous meteorologists missed that, but now that I'm on appropriate medication, I barely have any symptoms anymore. I dutifully updated my medical records with LaserAway, and they informed me that they would be unable to perform any further treatment until I got a letter of clearance from my neurologist. Yes, that was inconvenient, but it made me have even more respect for and confidence in LaserAway than I already had because they are NOT willing to put profit before client safety!! For that reason, I don't see myself ever switching to another MedSpa. Plus, everybody is just so nice there AND they're ALWAYS having some kind of irresistible, incredible deal!! I've got my medical clearance from my neurologist, I'm super grateful that I've always chosen the occlusive goggles (flashing light can induce seizures in some people who are people to them), and I'm all set to continue my treatments!! I also want to say that I can't wait to get more facials!!! I don't know if anybody else can tell a difference yet since I've only had 2 facials, but I can totally tell a difference!!! I've had both the Potenza and the Clear & Brilliant facials. I feel like the C&B needs a more descriptive name because I feel like the current name *+doesn't do justice to all the amazing benefits** of it. (But it might be a trademarked name, so it wouldn't be changing anytime soon, if ever.) Which facial is better to get? Choosing to focus on the "results" aspect of my review instead of the clear issue with your employees incessantly trying to upsell customers is EXACTLY why you will never get my business again. *** About a year ago, I reached out to LaserAway in Hermosa Beach because I was interested in laser hair removal for my bikini area. They were advertising a 75% off promotion, but I wasn't given any clear pricing details until they had already booked me for my first appointment and begun the "financing" process. Somehow, I ended up committing to an 8-session package for bikini and underarms... for around $2,000. If that was really 75% off, I can't imagine what the full price would be. I've completed all eight sessions. The results? Somewhat effective. Most of the hair is gone, but considering the cost, I expected more. The technicians themselves were professional, but the overall experience was soured by the nonstop upselling by the reception/scheduling staff. Before every appointment, I'd get a call asking if I wanted to add areas. At check-in and check-out, more upselling. Even after treatments, yet another follow-up call asking if I wanted to expand my package. It got to the point where I dreaded going in. I must've turned down adding leg treatments at least a dozen times. Then, as my sessions were wrapping up, they pushed the "touch-up" package aggressively. I even told them I planned to get pregnant soon, thinking it would get them to back off, but they just pivoted to encouraging me to prepay for sessions to use after giving birth. Walking out after my eighth and final session, I blocked their calls, texts, and emails. What finally prompted me to write this review? I just received promotional MAIL from them, the last straw. I won't be going back. If I ever decide to do laser again, I'll go somewhere else. And I know I'm not alone, I've spoken with several others who had the same experience. This review is after a collective ~2yr experience at the Hermosa Beach (HB LA) location. The two stars are for the semi-successful laser hair removal sessions, several great clear and brilliant facials and Botox/filler at reasonably discounted prices. I've also enjoyed LA's retail products. Those are the pros, sadly there are many cons, including that parking at HB LA absolutely sucks, but I'll start with the biggest problem - the staff. Front reception at each LA location is trained to forge relationships with customers in an effort to upsell, which is understandable. When I first started coming to HB LA I loved the receptionists - they were polite, organized, informed, clear communicators, genuine and thoughtful. They remembered me and showed effort to improve my experiences based on my own personal preferences. I've come to learn there's either very high turnover or regular rotations of front staff, and with each new person (roughly every 3mo), the sales pitches have been increasingly pushy and disingenuous. I've also experienced several scheduling errors and mistakes regarding past bundle purchases, remaining sessions to be completed, etc. Like all customers should, I keep track of my own purchases and have often had to correct the receptionists, at times even argue with them only to find an error in their system. That alone gave me the ick, but it's also a sign of serious disorganization, poor record keeping and communication and a lack of education/proper training on the receptionists' part, and all after thousands I've sunk into treatments here, which is another con. I've never shown up for an appt and just had my appt. They're always trying to convince you to spend thousands more at each visit by dripping deals in front of you and honestly it's exhausting and a turn off. It might not be if I were wildly satisfied with my treatments to begin with. What first attracted me to LA was laser hair removal which I've had done for years by other aestheticians. I asked about a full leg package but was somehow roped into buying much more that I didn't need, but figured would be good for maintenance on other areas of my body. My legs look great, but the other areas have seen literally no change. At each session, I've asked the aesthetician to increase the setting bc 1) I can tolerate pain and 2) these are maintenance areas. Literally every time they've done a test patch I tell them I can't even feel it. Every aesthetician has sounded like she was reading from a script with no personal attention or consideration, except for one whom i've followed to another location. When it comes to injections, there's no consistency or consideration for what I know about my own face based on previous treatment, how I've looked in the past after having certain injections, etc. The irony that the aestheticians, who basically see you completely naked, have zero personality and do not personalize your treatment, yet the rotation of receptionists act like you've been friends for 20 years upon first meeting just to get you to spend thousands of dollars at each visit is actually gross. What prompted me to write this review is that yesterday I received a text from a woman named Genevieve, the location director, whom I've never met. She proceeded to call me 20 min. later asking if I wanted to schedule Botox (she didn't ask me anything about the other remaining laser treatments I have on file). The kicker is that when I politely thanked her and told her I'd be calling a different location to schedule with my preferred aesthetician as soon as I was recovered from a recent surgery, instead of saying "ok" or wishing me a speedy recovery, she said, "oh, may I ask what kind of surgery you just had?" no complete stranger, you may not and I shouldn't have to remind you how unprofessional it is to ask me to disclose my private medical info to someone i won't be scheduling with in the future. Net net, i'd rather travel an hour each way to see someone that I know actually cares about me and what treatments I'm having, then to return to HB LA which is 10 min from where I live. read more

I went into this location about a year ago for a consultation, and found the prices were out of my price range, They told me they do promotions sometimes but even with the promotions you have to agree to a certain amount of sessions, which I did not want to do, and that they have payment plans but they check your credit and I have no desire to do these kinds of things through credit. However none of this is the main issue, the main issue is that they still periodically call me from time to time. I did respond to two of these phone calls to let them know that if I ever do change my mind- I will let them know. However, even after blocking this locations phone number, I still get phone calls and voicemails from different laser away phone numbers. I received a call tonight at 7:15 pm which in my opinion is too late in the evening for calls like this. I hardly ever give bad reviews but unfortunately I had the worst experience, this place is a scam! All they care about is your money. I had a procedure done about two months ago, I thought I had made enough research but of course I had no clue how this procedure worked so it wasn't enough, I wasn't too worried because I had assumed going to a professional place they would explain to you how this procedure works and all the changes you'll be experiencing, side effects, etc. which they never did! While experiencing all the side effects I was trying to reach out to get as much information as possible to see if it was normal but this place is so unprofessional that I would get different answers each time. I got very bad anxiety because of this, the lead nurse refused to talked to me when I tried to follow up because she was the one feeling overwhelmed while I was the one experiencing all these changes that no one explained to me about and would only get different answers. She stated that someone was going to reach out and until this day no one has. Biggest regret ever! Go to a place where they take their time and truly care about their patients and not just try to get money out of you. read more
