Blimey! I was quite surprised with the mishmash of products available in this charity shop. Books, bags, furniture, toys, kitchen appliances, clothes and even make up (from 50 pence) were in the list of things found there.
I had the feeling this business is pretty selective about what sells, and it probably has to do with the fact there are only seven Settlement shops around all Birmingham area (Boldmere, Erdington, Newtown, Shirley, Sutton Coldfield, Wylde Green and Harborne).
In just some minutes inside it I have found some interesting items such as an edition of 1001 walks in Britain for only £ 3.50 and also another pocket thesaurus for only £ 1 quid.
They have just loving pieces of china and it's sad this shop is so far from where I live. Well, at least there is no risk of spend all money ( that I don't have) on it.
A particular shelf to be explored calmly is the one with book for only 50 pence. It's right on the left side of the shop's entrance. There are some fictions, biographies and other categories available. I wish I could because the shop was packed and you could barely move inside it.
It would be just better if they had a bigger space, (maybe using upstairs floor as well), because I found a bit difficult to browse things with so many customers around. Anyway, busy or not this Settlement shop has to be checked for anyone who like digging good bargains. read more
