My partner and I visited this restaurant for the first time while vacationing in California. I had chosen it based on its excellent Yelp reviews and was excited to celebrate my birthday there. To start with the positives, the restaurant itself is beautiful. It has an elegant, upscale atmosphere, and many guests were dressed accordingly. That made the servers' jeans-and-button-down uniform feel a little out of place for the overall vibe, but it certainly didn't detract from the aesthetics of the space. Upon being seated, we were greeted by a server assistant who promptly brought water. Unfortunately, after that, we waited about 20 minutes before our server introduced himself. When he finally arrived, he asked if we were ready to order, but as first-time guests we still had questions about the menu. We ordered cocktails and a salad, but then experienced another 10-15 minute wait before seeing him again. To be fair, the restaurant was filling up quickly, and it appeared he may have been overwhelmed or double-sat. One thing that was disappointing was that I had noted in my reservation that we were celebrating my birthday, but there was no acknowledgment whatsoever by the hostesses at the entrance or the server at the table. It's possible the staff simply didn't see the note, so I won't hold that against them too much. Our cocktails eventually arrived and were fantastic. Creative, well-balanced, and easily one of the highlights of the evening. Some of the non-edible garnishes were a bit cumbersome to navigate, but that's a minor complaint. The salad followed shortly after and was fresh and enjoyable. The kitchen thoughtfully split it for us without us asking, which initially felt like a nice touch. While waiting for our entrées, I couldn't help but notice that a nearby table seated after us was greeted immediately by our server. He enthusiastically walked them through the evening specials, something that was never mentioned to us. I found myself leaning over just to hear what was being offered because it sounded so good. It was a little disappointing, as we may have considered one of the specials had we known about them. When our entrées arrived, both looked and smelled incredible. Unfortunately, the execution was very different between the two dishes. I ordered the short rib with mashed potatoes, and it was by far the biggest disappointment of the meal. The short rib was tougher than expected and lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes underneath were served slightly cold and tasted completely unseasoned. My partner, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed his ricotta gnocchi with sausage, mushrooms, and truffles. He practically cleaned the plate. His only criticism was that the dish included only three tiny pieces of sausage, making that ingredient feel somewhat pointless. At some point, a gentleman other than our server noticed I wasn't eating much of my entrée and stopped by to check on us. I appreciated that level of attentiveness. Shortly afterward, our server returned and asked about the issue with my dish. He graciously offered to replace it with something else, like their the lasagna, but I declined. There was also a slightly awkward moment when my partner's cocktail was whisked away before he had finished it. We both kind of looked at each other wondering where it went, and while it wasn't the end of the world, it felt like another small service misstep during the evening. Our server came over again later and offered a dessert menu. When we declined, he surprised us with a complimentary panna cotta instead. It was absolutely phenomenal and ended up being another highlight of the evening. When the bill arrived, I noticed they had removed the short rib from the check, which was a very thoughtful gesture. However, I also noticed a $2.50 salad split charge had been added. The amount itself isn't significant, but I believe additional charges should be communicated to guests beforehand. That $18 salad suddenly became a $20.50 salad, which felt a little steep. Overall, this was a mixed experience. The service at the beginning of the meal left a lot to be desired, but the staff did make an effort to recover by the end. The cocktails were excellent, the panna cotta was outstanding, and based on my partner's experience, the pasta dishes seem to be where the kitchen shines. Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes. Despite some service missteps and an underwhelming short rib, there were enough bright spots that I would encourage others to give it a try. My advice: order a cocktail, save room for dessert, and stick with the pasta.

We recently visited for dinner and had a very enjoyable experience overall. The ambiance is one of the restaurant's strongest qualities. The interior is beautiful, clean, and inviting, with a perfect date-night atmosphere. Music was playing throughout dinner and encouraged you to slow down and enjoy the experience. Later in the evening, live music began, featuring a variety of popular songs performed by a talented singer with a great voice. It added to the experience without overpowering conversation. The staff were friendly, welcoming, quick, and genuinely funny. Their personalities added to the experience and made us feel comfortable from the start. One small criticism is that once your server leaves the table, it may be a while before you see them again. It didn't ruin the evening, but there were moments when ordering additional items or requesting something felt a little delayed. For appetizers, we ordered the Fritto Misto (calamari, shrimp, crispy vegetables, and spicy aioli). It was very good and easily shareable between two to three people. We also tried the whipped ricotta with focaccia bread, which was excellent. The ricotta was creamy and flavorful, and the focaccia paired perfectly with it. Personally, I would have loved the option of a flaky kosher salt to finish the dish, but that's a minor preference rather than a criticism. For our entrees, the salmon was well prepared and beautifully presented. The fish was flavorful, the skin was nicely crisped, and it was served with asparagus that complemented the dish well. The chicken parmesan was the only item that didn't completely win me over. It wasn't bad by any means, and others may enjoy it more than I did, but I found myself wanting a bit more flavor beyond the sauce and parmesan. Adding red pepper flakes helped slightly. On the positive side, the roasted potatoes served alongside it were crispy, well cooked, and very enjoyable. The lasagna was delicious and satisfying from the first bite to the last. The portion size felt appropriate, although I could have happily eaten more because it was that good. To finish the meal, we shared the tiramisu. Simply put: excellent. No notes. Overall, this is a restaurant I would gladly return to. Between the beautiful atmosphere, live music, friendly staff, strong appetizers, and several standout dishes, it delivers a memorable dining experience that is especially well suited for a date night or a relaxed evening out.

Good, but could be better. The food portions are generous except for their branzino and overall delicious. The staff are attentive, friendly, and mostly very courteous, which made the experience pleasant. However, the fries were disappointing. We even had to ask for a fresh batch, but unfortunately they still weren't good--honestly, McDonald's fries were better. They just didn't taste right. On the positive side, the pasta with squid ink, branzino, salmon, and beef were all excellent--we really enjoyed those dishes. There was also a live band that night, mostly playing Hispanic rhythm and blues (or at least that was the vibe when we visited). One small moment stood out--we asked a staff member to take a photo of us at their backdrop. Suddenly, someone who seemed like a manager walked in, and the staff member kept apologizing. I hope we didn't get him in trouble, as he was just being kind and helpful. Ps: menu font isn't for the millennials

Reservation made online and was very easy only taking a couple of minutes. Was greeted promptly at the door and after giving my name they acknowledged the anniversary occasion and asked if we wanted to sit inside or in the closed patio (high recommend this option.) the service was friendly and came in consistent intervals with water being poured and served in a bottle that stayed at the table. We ordered the babaganoush, skirt steak with tagliata frites, ricotta gnocchi, and the sticky toffee cake. Everything was great, which is kind of rare in a full dining experience so this being our first time just made it that more impactful. Baba Ganoush - smooth with a hint of smokiness but needed a bit of salt and pepper. The bread was nice but the extra order came with only corner pieces which were a little tough. Still enjoyed it at home! Skirt steak and frites - tender and only slightly chewing with a perfect medium rare cook. Comes with flakey salt but needs more seasoning for more punch imo. The fries were awesome being slightly crispy and had a nice salt seasoning on them. Ricotta gnocchi - lovely with a subtly ricotta flavor and a texture that reminded me of soft butter. The cream sauce, ground meat, and mushrooms went well with the bread, fries, and steak! Very tasty and a comforting flavor! Berry Panna Cotta - simple, lightly sweet and fruity and mainly for those who want something light but good Sticky Toffee Cake - decent but wasn't sticky, cake was dense and needed the sauce and whipped cream. Nothing special sadly but my wife really enjoyed it for someone who isn't a fan of caramel flavors There was live music and the artist sang familiar songs which had me and my wife humming along. A well dressed gentleman came by to check on us and introduced himself as John which was a nice touch! The interior was beautiful and had a classy aesthetic and the view from the patio had good sun. Overall I highly recommend this place for something casual for friends and family or even something special. I'm very happy to be close by!

Good absolutely delicious!! The service was top notch. Jacapo gave us a special table for our anniversary and our waiter Johnlucas was exceptional. Along with the wait staff we never had an empty water glass and was also asked if my husband's ribeye was cooked to his liking. I had the mushroom Gnocchi it was the best I've ever had. The ambience added that extra special touch with guitar music and beautiful setting. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back

Let me start by saying that this place offers the best service I've ever experienced. They have an incredible staff who genuinely love their customers and care about the quality of their service and food. I'm so proud of the new owners; they've made this place what it is today. As many know, this place is conveniently located near the 101 freeway. They have an open parking lot that's free, a full bar, and a beautiful open seating area. They can easily accommodate very large groups especially with private seating areas. And of you're not from the area, highly recommend the hotel that houses this restaurant. Now, let me tell you about my favorites here. First up is Simona, my favorite drink. It's a stunning cocktail filled with flavors, passionfruit coconut foam, lemon, and coñac. If you're looking for something extraordinary and refreshing, this is it. It's a whole new level of deliciousness. My favorite dish, so far, is their salmon. It's simply amazing! They also have a variety of freshly made, very delicious pastas and pinsas which are Roman style pizzas. They also have glutton free options. The desserts are also amazing. You won't find anything like it anywhere else. My husband and I have visited this place many times, and every time we come, it feels like our first time. The customer service and food are consistently great, and we always have a wonderful experience.

Wow wow wow! We didn't have a reservation on a Friday night but popped in right at 5:15pm and they were able to seat us (would definitely recommend getting a reservation though!) We live 5 minutes away and went to the previous restaurant that occupied this space a couple times but we're never impressed, so we were SO happy to hear Jacapo and the Nonna team was behind Sette Sorelle! We've experienced his first restaurant in the area Cafe Firenze in Moorpark and of course Nonna in Westlake so we were so excited to have that kind of experience in Newbury Park! The service and the food are the absolute stars here and we walked away from our experience here SO excited to come back! We started with the homemade bread with the Sundried Tomato Pesto spread and OMG. So fresh and tasty. When we finished the bread we were eating the remaining spread with our forks....that's how good it was. I got the Tagliatelle which was had a creamy tomato sauce with ground chicken. 10/10! The pasta is freshly made there and was the perfect al dente texture. I would get this every time! My husband got the lasagna which was decadent with a beef & pork ragu and béchamel sauce. Yum! We finished off with the Tiramisu and we concluded it was the best we've ever had. They line the cup with chocolate ganache so every bite you get some chocolate and we'll as all the espresso creamy goodness! Service was exceptional and already so knowledgeable about the menu, wines and ingredients. Run don't walk!

Sette Sorelle is honestly what Newbury Park has been missing - a great place to grab food and drinks! I loved the concept that each cocktail is named after the owner's sisters. My favorite was the Simona (Simo). The cognac paired beautifully with the passionfruit foam, and it's definitely a must-try if you're here. I kept dinner pretty light, but the grilled prawns appetizer was amazing. The sauce was packed with flavor, and I personally loved the addition of the fresno peppers, which added the perfect kick without overpowering anything. The standout for me was the maccheroni with braised oxtail. I devoured it - rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious! Pasta was al dente too, which should really be the standard. The ambiance was also a vibe: gorgeous flowers and orchids everywhere, and live music on a Thursday night made it feel special without being too much. Can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu. Highly recommend!!

My team and I had the best time dining at Sette and Sorelle. The food was impeccable, but the service is what truly captured our hearts. We had the pleasure of being served by Blake, and he was everything. So knowledgeable, so enthusiastic, and genuinely funny in a way that felt natural and perfectly timed with our group and the overall experience. Blake gets tens across the board from us. Thank you, Blake. Now back to the food, because wow. The macaroni and the oxtail based pastas were easily some of the best things I have tasted in a very long time. The mocktails were beautifully done, and the secret pizza, just ask Blake, is a must. Every detail felt thoughtful and elevated. I am already planning my next visit back.

Needed a great restaurant for 15th wedding anniversary, this place seemed to tic all the boxes. We could not have asked for a better experience. Beautiful decor, fun and romantic at the same time. From the hostesses to the patio bartender we were welcomed as if we had been there a million times. As we were seated for dinner our waiter, Jackson, was warm and efficient. We never felt rushed for turnover, in fact it felt like we were with family. The hostess must've let Jackson know it was our anniversary because he had a delicious dessert ready for us after our amazing dinner. My wife had the lasagna which was perfect and I had the hanger steak which was cooked to temp exactly as ordered. Everything was seasoned beautifully and the cocktails were on point. During our wonderful date night John and Jacopo checked in with us to make sure everything was okay. We truly felt at home here. Couldn't be happier with the choice.

Came here for a birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere, place is very well decorated, loved the ambiance and live music. The food was also very good. Must get their focaccia bread. Lots of different variety of Italian food to choose from and have a great wine list and cocktail menu. Service was just a little slow but overall was a good experience.

Quick shoutout to Sette Sorelle. I've now been there twice and each time the service, food, and drinks were outstanding. The cocktails crafted by Katie (pictured) and Nicole were well balanced and delightful to behold. The whipped ricotta and focaccia bread were spectacular and not to be missed. Especially, if you just popped in to sip and nibble. The interior of Sette Sorelle inviting and upscale. Huge thanks to Jacopo and his team for bringing a wonderful restaurant to Newbury Park.

I am not recommending this place anymore, and I'm sure they will be just fine. They are very popular now, and maybe that's why it was better before. It happens.

Portions on pasta dishes were a little small except for the steak special (which was a large portion), but I think I figured it out: Book a reservation online (they can only make so much pasta per day) Budget large Order the specials Order 1-2 appetizers Get one of their special Italian beers Definitely order the desserts I am not a big dessert guy, but their dessert quality was top notch, a nice touch on top of a great meal. Having been to Italy I can say the pace of the service is pretty similar to what I experienced there, except much more polite. Add that to their high quality ingredients and cooking technique, and it's one of the top Italian places within a 25 mile radius. I would say the only comparable place is Chianti, but that is just a completely different restaurant gameplan so it's kind of unfair to compare the two. I'll enjoy both, it's nice to have two great places nearby!

We came on a night that had live music as well which was a plus and added to the ambiance. We started with the Cesar Salad which was good, nothing crazy to write home about but we devoured it! I got the Feel Puglia which was pesto pasta with burrata & sun-dried tomato's. 7/10. Pasta was great and very fresh and the sauce had great flavor but I wasn't expecting the tomato's and cheese to be cold? Maybe that's a me thing but it threw off the dish for me, definitely will get somthing else next time. My husband got the Carbonara and that was 10/10, he licked the plate clean! We shared one of the seasonal desserts that's was a berry tart of some kind and it was so yummy! Overall had really good service, food and excited to try the other things in the menu next time!

It is the place where everyone knows your name. You're immediately welcomed by an amazing team - smiles and hugs! Good days, bad days, this is the place to be. You can feel the wamth and taste the love for food! I just put the day behind me and enjoy!!! I'd love to keep this hidden gem a secret but they deserve all the praise! Drinks: on point! Delicious and strong! Huge wine selection too!!My go to - Old Fashioned. If you have room for dessert, please have an espresso martini. Trust me. Food: Transports you to a beautiful villa in Italy!!!Delicious is an understatement. There is no hesitation to make recommendations and alter dishes to make them Perfect for you. My go to : pizza is perfect, tri colore salad is a must, anything on the specials menu, Big Meatball, anything with spicy vodka, veal or chicken Milanese, and lasagne. I only wish lasagne was on menu every week! I'm working on it! Most importantly: service and warmth. Extremely attentive and hardworking staff. Roberto checks in on every single table throughout the night. Angel and Nacho are marathoning drinks but yet stop to check on every single person in the bar and make sure you are attended to. Always! I look forward to seeing them every week. It doesn't end there: Vicky, Anna, David... I could go on. Every single person on the floor and in the kitchen is working so hard and is so kind. That's what makes the food delicious and the restaurant feel like home!!! They are family at this point! In summary, we love Rustico!!!

But once you enter Rustico, you are immediately transported to a world that feels like a night out in an Italian American movie. The pasta is al dente, gravy is rich and flavorful and the pork chop is to die for. Frittura Mista is perfectly fried light crispy but not greasy. Tricolor chopped salad is outstanding especially the balsamic base dressing. Manager's warm hospitality and sense of humor is right out the Big Night. Waiter is very knowledgeable of the menu. Great wine by the glass options. Basta use to be my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. I think I now prefer Rustico. Buon appetito!
