This restaurant is EXTREMELY mid... If you are from KC, you more than likely have heard of this place. It is severely overhyped. Nothing about it stood out. When you eat the food you think to yourself, "it's ight but it's not good and it's nothing different than anything else you've ever had. In addition the service was absolutely terrible, I genuinely believe we saw our server twice, once when they took our order and another when they brought out the check. Not even a water re-fill...overall MID I'd give it a 2 1/2 out a 5 if I could. Hopefully it gets better in the future but this time wasn't it.

My friend and I stopped in here for a quick bite to eat. It's a great space, very fun and has an upbeat vibe. Every staff members was friendly and helpful. We split the Mexican Street Corn Fritters which were amazing!! My taco had great flavor but was a little light on the mahi-mahi. That said, I would definitely order it again. My only wish would be that they offered a round of complimentary chips & salsa. We didn't have drinks but would love to come back for happy hour.

We had the best time here! The restaurant has a fun, surf/beach type decor. We were greeted warmly as soon as we arrived and taken to a booth. It happened to be Happy Hour, so margaritas were $2 off. My frozen/blended margarita was amazing! We got the queso con chorizo as an appetizer. The cheese was creamy and the spicy chorizo was tasty. We did not leave any queso behind! My husband and I both got tacos. He got a Hot Fried Chicken taco, a Mango Habanero Shrimp taco, and a Spicy Chorizo taco. I tried the chorizo taco and it was spicy as promised, and very good! I ordered a Mango Habanero Shrimp taco, a Carnitas taco, and a Fried Baja Fish Taco. Every taco was unique and flavorful. I would order all of them again! We come to Kansas City several times a year, and we will most definitely be back for more tacos.

We can in here for a quick appetizer and drinks as we wait for reservation next door. It's was early dinner time. Plenty of open tables. Hostess seated us right away. But it took us quite a while to get service. In fact, we had to ask the hostess again if there was a waitress. Once we got service, food came out right away. Looks like they have a pretty good drinks/cocktail menu. Food not too pricey. Chips come with two different salsa, spicy and mild. We ordered street taco, Ala cart. It would be a good place to come hang out with friends and have some margaritas. 3-stars for service not on par.

We really liked everything we got here! We got the Mexican street corn fritters and those weee delicious! Highly recommend. We have never had anything quite like that. We also got the queso con chorizo. It was also very good! A couple at our table both got drinks and they liked them. They were decorated nicely. One got the mahi and lobster tacos and he enjoyed both of those. Overall great vibes!

Went for KCRW. Incredible experience. Top notch service. Loved the vibe of the restaurant. Plenty of open well lit seating. Vibrant bar area. But let's talk food... Dip Duo - Fire roasted poblano salsa and their signature queso con cerveza with house made tortilla chips. Perfect start. The cheese dip was super tasty and of great consistency for dipping. Loved the poblano flavor of the salsa. What a great start! Tacos - 3 Tacos of your choice. I choose the carne asada, hot fried chicken and mango-hop-andero shrimp. Each had their own vibe of flavors. Standout was the carne asada with the fire from the avocado serrano sauce. Full of fresh ingredients making this taco lover happy! Churritos - 3 mini churros in cinnamon sugar served with Mexican chocolate sauce. The soft chew of the churro, the cinnamon sugar and that delicious chocolate. Simply amazing!

Just a spicy margarita, nothing special, tastes like a mix

We were here from St Louis. Frequent flyers to the soulard location, so we were so excited to come in, especially for the margaritas. Unfortunately they are not what they use to be. They use to rattle these drinks for 30 seconds plus ending with the most delicious frothy cold marg I've ever had. This one today , the spicy marg tastes just like a regular mix margarita. Only rattled 6 times. We haven't decided on whether we will eat now. Super super disappointed!!!!

Blt taco - sauce was way too spicy, but without it there were tasty.

Excellent service! Our waitress was fantastic! Cute little spot off the main road. People watching was super fun. The food was ok. The BLT taco was different. The carne asada was very boring. I definitely wouldn't order it again. The mango shrimp were ok - needed a little heat. We did chips and queso and chips and guac and they were ok too. Will give them another shot next year when we're back in town.

I wish I would've had more time to look around the market because it looked like they had a lot of good stuff but I'll have to go back and see. They do have tables inside that you can eat at. The food was done at the quoted time and was accurate. The one individual I encountered was friendly. The menu was very straightforward-tacos, burritos, and a few other items, all can be customized. I had to get an order of chips and queso. I really liked their queso. It had good flavor and wasn't overly spicy. The chips were fresh and held up to the queso nicely. I'm definitely probably alway going to order this when I go. I also tried a taco with carne asada. The tacos are the street variety but they are really good sized. They don't skimp on the meat. And the carne asada was really good. No gristle or gross bits. It was chopped finely and I'd definitely order it again. I also had to try a burrito. I tried the El pastor for that and added on all the toppings-cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. I also opted for extra meat because it was super cheap-like $1, so why not? Again, I was not disappointed. I did throw my burrito on the good 'ol George Foreman when I got home because they don't grill it at all and I wanted some grill marks on that tortilla. Otherwise, the el pastor was flavorful and tender and the toppings were all fresh. Per usual, my eyes were bigger than my stomach so I saved half of my burrito, but it was a welcome leftover meal the following day. Definitely check them out if you're on the boulevard and want some tasty, Mexican grub.

I just took a swing at it, picked up a menu, and stood there. It took a while for somebody to acknowledge that I was there. The person who took my order was super involved, which is cool, but they needed some help, and the person who came by to help them seemed to be rather impatient, so that was one of the first things I noticed. They do bring your food out in a reasonable amount of time, delivered to your table. You have a number that attaches to a metal wand that they give to you. So the water station is set up in the back, you get your own water, but they were out of cups. They had a really cool aesthetic to it, with like the garage door where you can see all the downtown. The only problem was that the sun went down, and it started to get rather cold. Nobody ever closed the door, but I ordered the Asada fries. 3/5 heavy on the seasoning, but not so much on the flavor, it came across. It's kind of salty. I thought it would be different than what it was. The portion size was fine, and the green sauce that they offer you on the side really makes it better. Also ordered the CHORI queso dip lied on the chorizo for the portion size. The flavor was also a three out of five. The chip that they give you with it has a nice, good texture and reasonable seasoning. My wife had the mushroom Tinga tacos. She gave him four out of five. She really enjoyed them. The atmosphere is cool. The weights staff are really cool. I'd consider coming back on a Thursday. They have this cool thing that you can try new and upcoming dishes, and then they also have brunch, so I'm thinking about giving them a second shot. If you've never been, you should come and see what your opinion is, but really cool aesthetics and great views.

I highly recommend the Spicy Margarita which is not for the faint of heart but not so spicy that you're calling the fire brigade. Great lime base, solid tequila, and sliced jalapeños make for a refreshing and enjoyable cocktail. The Carne Asada Tacos are a good choice, maybe a touch light on the carne, however, but tasty.
