Zero Stars... After a major rain storm in the area, we woke up to our basement flooded. We called ServPro and they said they would be right out. It took several hours but one employee showed up late that evening. He explained that he could have a crew come out over night to start the cleanup. To keep from being charged "off hour" fees, I told him to hold off until the morning and he said they would be out at 8am. We asked for an estimate of how much the cleanup would cost. He stated it would be between $2000-$5000. I asked if he could be more precise. He said it was hard to say, but he estimated that it would be closer to the $2000 level. Workers didn't show up until around 5pm the next 2 days even after giving an 8am estimated start time. We asked 2 or 3 more times for an estimate on the cost. Each time, they repeated the $2000-$5000 range, but closer to the $2000. We called, and the office workers explained that the crew chief would be better to estimate it. After the 2 days of cleanup, they left their machines for a few more days and stopped by once a day to check their meters. I asked for the total bill and they still didn't know. I called 2 or 3 more times and was told they were still "working on" the bill. After 2 weeks, we received a bill of over $12,000. The bill and 330 pages of supporting documents arrived in an email. It took them more time to create the bill than they spent working in my house. How can that be?!?! How can they be that far off in their estimate? When I called and spoke to the management, they said I should have asked for an estimate first. We did. He said we shouldn't have asked the workers for an estimate. How were we to know that? If you send an employee out to my house, he is your representative. Unless he says otherwise, he is authorized to give estimates. ServPro manager says they won't change the bill. read more

I used them for water removal. It was during business hours. While the performed service was satisfactory, the billing I received later was unreal! They charged me over$58 to unplug a washer and dryer! That's just the start. They measure and charge for every movement they make. Some times double dipping. Buyer beware. Just finished a tour of Servpro's facility & technology in Lee's Summit. The tech available to sanitize and save family heirlooms & household goods is amazing. Wish this type of technology had been available to my clients earlier in my insurance career. Learning about the advances in drying out structures while minimizing demolition was fascinating as well...and all monitored and documented with moisture meters to avoid mold and get my client's life put back together quickly! The level of detail they use to track job status and monitor property location as items move through the cleaning process could only have been designed by someone with serios OCD...but what piece of mind! read more

Do not use ServePro. Go with ServiceMaster. Water mitigation was not complete. the baseplate at ground zero of the flood was not treated wood so it absorbed the smelly fecal flood water. ServePro did not disinfect and encapsulate the baseplate, which is standard procedure. I did not know this until I noticed the smell lingering well past the time it should have dissipated. Unfortunately, by then I had already signed off that their work was complete (it only took two days to gut the basement and run the fans then I signed). After two weeks of the smell not going away I put my nose to the baseplate and it almost knocked me out. ServePro came out and confirmed that was the source of the smell but since the claim was "closed" I would have to pay out-of-pocket to have them do the job they should've done the first time they were out and was paid $19k to do. Coming back to finish the job at no cost is not unreasonable. This is unacceptable. read more

Shout out to the professional, thorough and and courteous team at SERVPRO of Lee's Summit. We had an amount of water in our basement that I thought was going to cost $$$. Turns out it was a little more than our insurance deductible, so we decided to dry it ourselves. No problem for Darryl and Jennifer. They understood the the need for us to weigh the expense and claiming on insurance versus DIY and were so good about it. We will use them again and highly recommend them. read more

I had a water main break on a Friday night and they were there within the hour. Helped me save my personal belongings and did a great job

WARNING: JUST SAY NO TO SERVPRO. This is the company that did our clean up after the basement flooded. THEY ARE CROOKS. The crew seemed extremely nice when they arrived. Didn't have a problem with how they presented themselves at all. HOWEVER, They originally billed us for almost 300 extra square feet for carpet tear out and disposal, after they told us the carpet was salvageable AND without consulting us first. Almost 300 extra square feet of padding removal, almost 100 extra linear feet of baseboard removed. Charged us for 3 extra machines and for anti microbial spray that they never even sprayed...and even IF THEY DID spray, they sprayed it on standing water (which is pointless) because there was standing water when they left. And charged us for 3 days of equipment rental (fans and humidifier) when everything was completely dry within 24 hours. 3 days wasn't necessary. Equipment rental alone was over $1,500. They listed it on the bill as NO MONITORING"customer unavailable" for the 2nd and 3rd day...which is completely NOT TRUE. There was ALWAYS someone home during that time. To top it all off...this REALLY PISSED ME OFF....when they came to pick up the equipment the guy asked me to sign the signature box on his tablet acknowledging that they were picking up the equipment and that their work was done. There was ONLY a signature box, NO TEXT to be read at all. Next thing I know, I'm getting an email of a copy of the "Customer Satisfaction Survey" that has my signature on it....and every single question is marked with a rating of 10 (extremely satisfied) OH HELL NO. I never even saw that survey...and I sure as hell WAS NOT EXTREMELY SATISFIED. EXTREMELY PISSED is more like it. NO WAY was I letting that shit fly.....I've been fussing with them for a month and I was FINALLY able to knock the bill down to where we only had to come out of pocket $500 for clean up. Insurance only paid $2,000. HOWEVER, that DOES NOT INCLUDE all the money we're having to spend to replace flooring. Our bill went from $3900 to $2500 after I used THEIR OWN PICTURES against them to back up my claims. Anyways, just letting you all know what this company is all about so you can AVOID THEM. I looked up reviews, after the fact and found nothing BUT complaints similar to mine. Note: I will say that the office manager that I dealt with was very polite and seemed very sympathetic to our situation. I don't blame her for this mess. She only inputs the info she is given by the crew. BUT I would hate to be in her position working for a shady company like that. read more
