My condo bathroom was flooded by my upstairs neighbor and I decided to use Dry Out based on the…read morereviews on here. Big mistake. The first issue I had with them was when they showed up they never turned on 2 out of the 3 fans that were supposed to run for 2 days to dry it out. They just put them in the rooms and left. Thank goodness my tenant stopped in to check on the unit and was able to plug them in. And when I called to ask them if they should have been plugged in they were just like ,"Oops, yeah we should have plugged them in." Meanwhile I was covering my tenants hotel so they wouldn't have had to deal with the noise and smell and if they hadn't stopped in to plug them in I would have had to cover extra days because of their lack of thoroughness. After they fan incident they came back and all of a sudden insisted I needed crown molding replaced in my living room due to water damage even though it was nowhere near the bathroom leak. I finally agreed, and then they bought the wrong size crown molding (not to mention the fact they charged me $300 for $50 worth of crown molding! But I live out of town so I'm kind of at their mercy). They tell me the will have to come back with the right size crown molding the following week and they will install it and touch up the paint then. They come back and install the crown molding and caulk and are supposed to come back when they could fit it in to paint (which is paint I already have there). Weeks go by and my tenant mentions that they still haven't come back to paint so I call them. The finally remember me and set up an appointment for the next week. About 15 minutes before they are supposed to start the painting I get a call from them stating if I want the painting done it will be an extra $800 because it is a custom color (even though I am providing the paint) or they can prime it for an additional $150. I told her I had already paid for everything in full and that painting was included in the quote. She then goes on to tell me that only includes the primer, which is definitely not what I was told by Bob, the manager (and by the way, which I've already paid for and still hasn't been done). And of course Bob is on vacation so they won't paint unless I pay or he OK's it when he comes back. Meanwhile my tenant has taken off work to meet them there. I told them they weren't getting one more cent from me at that point because I knew it was a scam. This is obviously a way to try to scam paying customers out of additional money. Never once during the the entire process, including the estimate phase, when I was told of the additional fee to remove and replace the crown molding, and when I called to remind them they needed to come back to finish painting, did they mention this additional fee to actually paint. And I specifically asked Bob, both during the estimate portion and when we agreed to to have the crown molding replaced, if they would be painting the area to match what was there since I have the paint and there was never a mention of an additional fee to do this. Not to mention the fact that I am providing the paint! And we are talking about a condo that is only 900 sq. Ft. There is no way it is $800 to paint 1 wall for that price. My tenant also told me they were completely unprofessional the whole time. To the point where he would actually rather wait and not have it be painted than continue to be jerked around by them. If you decide to use this company I would make sure you are present to make sure they are actually doing what they are supposed to be doing, question everything and get proof that work actually needs to be completed and make sure you don't pay them until you are sure everything is done. Their lack of professionalism, thoroughness, lack of customer service and most importantly ethics just ensured I will never use them again and will definitely not suggest them to anyone who asks me.

They are 100% trasparente with the assessment and told us up front that they could not know how bad or good the damage is until they go into the walls. Of course we were unsure but yeah, makes sense, you won't know how bad it is until you open it. Long story long, amazing There assessment was really spot on after the air test and physical inspection. The areas we thought were bad were not and other were bad but truthfully the most important part was that the company owner was on sight and always available by phone. Walked us through every step and made it clear what had to be done so there were no unexpected charges. Total blessing because we had a budget and they totally worked with us. To top it off, we felt like he, and his crew were working on their own home. With pride and joy, making sure everything was perfect. So once the remediation was completed, they offered additional help and very reasonably and within our budget. So they helped us with refinishing the walls, added lighting, doors, refinished our garage and overall helped us remold our home. They also provided contacts to refinish our floors, window shades and basically, to make it modern and most importantly! our dream home!! This was predatory, contracting, profiling, the elderly So after four days, The insurance company and myself were request an estimate exactly of their cost of work to the moment and an estimate of repairs they sent us a bill for $17,707.68 for four days of work . I submitted that bill to insurance company field adjuster and he immediately said "I can't tell you professionally what to do sir , but if they were in my home, I'd fire them for price gouging, which is illegal in an emergency situation in the state of Florida They're grossly overcharging you " and that's exactly what I did . As you can imagine, finding a reputable contractor in the Keys was a challenge post hurricane (especially for someone living out of state) but luckily, a neighbor recommended that I contact Safeway Restoration since they were also working on her home (and to her satisfaction). I initially spoke with Skip, whose reassuring demeanor calmed my wife and I (along with our incessant questions). He took the time to explain in great detail how he and his crew would go about mitigating the damage, what we could expect in terms of possible scenarios, and what solutions he would effect. At first, I'll admit I was a nervous wreck but by the end of our first conversation, I was eager to hand him the keys. Once the work began, Gene kept us informed throughout the entire process and sent me photos upon request. The damage was so extensive, a large dumpster was needed, along with a crew of a dozen or so guys working around the clock. This level of service is a great relief for a homeowner who lives outside of the state and doesn't have the time, know how or patience to effectively manage from a far. But out of worry, I sent a picture of it to a couple of my coworkers who had dealt with mold in the past. They said: Get it checked because mold ain't no thang to mess around with. In fact, it could be behind your wall! Properly alarmed, I started looking for a mold remediation specialist. Called and researched a number of folks before trying Safeway. My contact with Skip has been awesome. He worked with me to set up a time and day when he could stop by; I texted my info to his phone (which I liked vs having to have someone repeat/repeat what my info is); and he came on time within his 1 hour window. He explained his process: - Free assessment - If mold is detected, he'll take steps to mitigate costs while ensuring the mold is gone - And he uses a separate company (hygienist) to run the mold samples (if samples have to be taken) so that there isn't a conflict of interest Sooooo, thankfully, there was no mold. He came out, checked the area, ensured it was dry, and said it was probably just my dog (at no charge :)). Hehehehe... sorry Skip for the trip, but thank you so much for taking care of us! :) Would definitely contact Skip again if a mold issue does come up.
