Let me spare you the trouble, look no further than TJ Radon. I reached out to 6 different companies…read morein the area for quotes. TJ had not only the most competitive quote by a long shot, but they are the ONLY company I could find guaranteeing post-mitigation levels below 2.0. The EPA says you should consider mitigating with levels between 2.0-4.0, and every other company guarantees merely 2.7. That would have been enough, but Tom, John and the whole team (electrician Michael and test coordinator Sam) are also exceptionally kind and professional. They were utmost patient with me during my 11th-hour indecision about where the system should be placed, and patiently weighed the pros and cons with me. They were flexible with scheduling the post-test for when we were out of town so we could close the windows without baking. (We don't have A/C.) Our initial level was 5.7, their system got it down to 0.6. It is unintrusive and quiet. The only reason I can possibly see to use anyone else is that TJ Radon is booked over a month out. For good reason. If you can wait, you won't regret it.

Tom and John were amazingly thorough and explained each step of the process along the way. When they arrived to install, they surveyed the house and presented a few locations that would make the most sense to install the system. The install was quick and efficient. Best of all, they left our home clean - no mess! They did a great job explaining how the system works. We will definitely be using TJ Radon in future homes!

Jeremy and his team were incredible from start to finish!…read more I got quotes from truly no less than 7 local radon mitigation companies to find the best and most affordable option. Twin Cities Radon was not only the most affordable, but one of the most responsive. I set up an appointment for install and was impressed with the level of communication - text and email reminders about my upcoming appointment (very necessary with how much house stuff we're juggling lately!) Jeremy arrived right on time with his teammate Mike and walked me through what they would be doing. He told me about different options for install and we chose the best spot on the house to put piping through. He let me know when they were wrapped up two hours later, and walked me through where everything was and how it all worked. Jeremy was honest, thorough, detailed and helpful every step of the way to a new homeowner like me. I paid my bill right on spot via card and it was the exact price quoted - no surprises. Thanks for an incredible experience, Jeremy!

The system worked great but the neighbor complained about the noise that came from the vent on the roof. I did not think the noise was that bad but am trying to keep peace in the neighborhood. I called TC Radon last week. Jeremy was out today and immediately understood what the problem was. He was able to install a muffler on the vent in less than 20 minutes. He was wonderful to work with and completely understood my situation. Highly recommend TC Radon Services to anyone.

Stay away at all costs...Made us miss our closing, unprofessional, terrible communication, multiple…read moredelays. We were selling our home and buyers inspection found high radon levels (4.4) so we opt to fix. We decided to go with 86 since all first impressions were great, reviews were good, and price was decent. We scheduled an appointment for 2 weeks out at 10am, since they are busy. Up comes installation day and no one shows up at 10am. We wait until 10:15, still no one, no call, nothing, so we call and asks what's going on. Oops, we misscheduled sorry we can be there in 3 days. We are a little anxious now as our closing is 4 days after that. 3 days later 9am, no one again but they come at 9:10 so it's okay. Tech is doing the install, gets half done and says I need to run to another job to collect one of the testers, I'll be back after lunch ~1pm to finish. 1pm comes no one, 1:30 comes still no one. We wait until 2 and then give them a call and ask what's going on/did the tech get into an accident? Oh sorry, he had to run to another job to finish it. He will be back tomorrow for yours. Tomorrow is Friday and our closing is Monday, so I ask if they will have the test completed for Monday. Oh sure, it's a 24 hr test and we can pick it up on Saturday. They pick up the testing machine on Saturday, but Monday morning is here and still no results. Our realtor and us are frantically calling them as we close at 10am to sell our house and we still do not have the results. We end up getting the results on Tuesday afternoon - radon levels of 4.1. We used another company to complete the remediation successfully, but I would recommend that everyone steer clear of 86 unless they want to chance a nightmare. Oh and this whole experience happened before corona too.

Unprofessional and overpriced TLDR; drilled into my heated…read morefloor pipe did not fix it, brought his kid with and was quite overpriced, seek other options. I wanted to give someone local support for my radon mitigation system. From the start he arrived late, we had previously discussed via email that i had a heated floor and he said that would not be a problem, he forgot the tool he needed to check where the tubes were so he left for an hour to retrieve the tool. When he came back he had his son with him i was not asked if i wanted to take part in take your kid to work day at all but here he was. He started by using a flir camera to "see" where the lines were, he had me come to verify what was supposedly there which should have been my first clue that he did not know what he was doing, i have since been told by the guy who came to help me sort this mess out a bit that people who do this more regularly use a kind of xray like machine to verify that they are drilling in the right spot. They then got to work..... with the son drilling the hole in my concrete floor as you possibly have surmised by now they drilled into a water line and he had me shut off the water at which point he most likey should have got a plumber out here at his cost as it was his screw up right? No he kept going despite admittedly not knowing what he was doing with my heated flooring system, he took the rest of the concrete out of the hole and cut the line himself without asking and tried to fix it himself as well when that didnt work he and his son went to lunch..... for over two hours. Then the electrician came to wire the fan up, he was setting up his ladder to go in the attic when he said "i didnt do that" while pointing to the entrance to my attic which had dirty handprints all over it that were not there beforehand, the electrician was professional and in and out in a half hour. The radon guy and his son came back and finished what was left of the radon mitigation system job he said he would be back to try to fix the pipe at this point i should have called a plumber and had them fix it but i sadly waited for him, he came back and tried basically the same thing which had the same results, failure. He then left. Over the next two days i drove to menards twice to get things to try to properly fix my floors, which might i add took out my hot water for the whole time so cold showers, also in trying to fix the pipe i ended up looking in the hole for the radon system that had a bunch of trash in it he had left behind. I finally got the leak sorted myself but the floors apparently needed to be blead of air for them and my hot water to work so i had a plumber come out to look at them then i finally had hot water for the first time in over two days. Where was the radon guy in all this time you ask? He went on vacation. They left their radon detector in my house the whole time and by the time he came back i was understandably not interested in his radon testing services and a bit later they came and got their radon detector. The next interaction i had was him invoicing for the entire agreed upon amount like it had all gone well and they didnt know why i had not paid despite me saying via email that we needed to discuss settling up for payment. In the end i got about 500 dollars off of the overall price and i just accepted it to no longer have to deal with him even though they were overpriced to begin with. Overall it was a terrible experience, the only good thing is that the radon mitigation system works. I would go with anyone else if you have the option.
