It was a breeze to our surprise. Walked in without appointment and seen in 15 min. All set.

It is a pretty central location, as if you are driving there is a paid parking lot, and if you are taking transit it is not that far to walk here. OK, that being all said to getting here, then the next question, yes you can book online for an appointment, that is also the best option is to book online, but if you like to roll the dice, and many of you do, well then the walk in option is here and I can say I am two-for-two for having an awesome experience, including the wait time. On my most recent visit, the line-up was pretty deep, but the people know exactly how to move the line-up. I honestly thought this was going to be a +2 hour process, and it wasn't. Right at the start when you come up to the third floor you will see a security guard who also guides you to the correct line-up, as you could be coming just to pick up your passport from here, or other odd inquiries. The main line-up is for the pre-screening, where the person who is working goes through your application and to make sure you have everything you need to get to the next step (signatures, photos, supporting documents) and then provides you with a slip and tells you to wait to watch your number to appear and go to the appropriate window. Once you are through this, the last part is easy, it really is just collecting payment. The biggest thing is, make sure you have the application filled out, and also the checklist of everything you need with the application, cause if not, you are slowing the whole process for you, and the people waiting behind you, as you will see the eyes roll.... especially when you are one of those people that comes well prepared. All-in-all my visit has been great, and the people here are good too.

I came here to renew my passport, arrived at 12:30pm on a Thursday, and I was all done by 1:30pm!…read moreIt's close to Landsdowne mall and Richmond Public Market, so you can go do some shopping or grab food easily after. The staff at the counter was so friendly and efficient. The washroom is clean. I had such a pleasant experience.

The glowing jellyfish, ghostly sea creatures, and spooky underwater lights give off a playful Halloween vibe. The exhibit reminds us that our oceans are truly "haunted" -- not by spirits, but by pollution and garbage. The displays made from recycled materials show just how much waste ends up in the sea, and it's a great way to make both kids and adults think about how we can all help bring the ocean back to health. There is also a big LEGO model of the Cannery. Worth to check it out! I always find the temperature inside the cannery is cold especially in the winter time. So be sure to have a warm jacket with you.

I learned about how salmon was processed and canned, and then how herring fish were reduced into oil and fish meal. There's a section of the museum that is geared more towards small children to keep them interested. There's a gift shop at the end that has canned salmon to purchase, now that you know the amount of work that goes into processing, as well as other goodies. As a side note, I didn't realize that this museum offered tours, although I did come in the off season. From looking at other reviews, it seems cool that they can run the displayed machines at a slower speed to really illustrate how everything worked!
