Called them up for a service visit this morning for my bedroom HVAC- got it checked and was explained the importance of filter replacement! And also how the system actually worked, in detail, and how I could prolong its life and use it more efficiently. Also an evaluation of my HVAC unit. I queried GROK to diagnose my HVAC problem, (I don't use Google anymore) the answer was very simple to understand with my limited knowledge. I didn't tell either services beforehand what GROK had recommended. I have been using the last couple years a Large HVAC company here in LV, (they have a Bee as their mascot), with mixed results. I called them as I didn't know Steve at that time. They came out and knowing the symptoms went straight to the motor, not what GROK recommended they look for as the problem and said it's too old and the whole unit needs to be replaced. I then got the full court press salesman who badly wanted to replace my unit. My neighbor recommended Steve and I called him. He came out and did exactly what GROK had recommended. When we purchased our home in 2017, we inherited an old 1996 HVAC system that had been augmented in 2010 with a mismatched outdoor condenser when the old unit was allegedly stolen. In February 2020, the indoor air handler motor finally quit, so we contacted Servco on the recommendation of our septic service provider. Steve came the next day with a reasonable no nonsense approach to the problem, pointing out that yes, he could replace the old motor and get things back to normal, but he then asked about our power bill. I replied that I was not too happy with the amounts we were paying each month, especially in the winter with our electric heat coils that struggled to keep the home above 67 in the winter. Steve also pointed out that the added condenser in 2011 (put in by one of his competitors) was mismatched to the rest of the system and did not have the capability of a reverse heat mode, making the entire system a power hog and much less efficient. We then talked about a new system install and Steve came in with a price on a new, much more efficient unit with install that I thought was priced quite reasonable. Steve even threw in a loner motor that he installed for free that day so we could have heat on the old system while we waited to schedule the new install a week later. Everything went as planned and it was a nice clean install with a new smart thermostat. I'm writing this 6 months after the fact to tell you that our electric bill for heating and now cooling has been cut in half each month! At this rate, we'll have the new system paid for in 2 years due to electric savings and the new system cools and heats the whole house much better than the old unit ever did. We no longer require a separate heater in our bedroom in the winter and the bedroom has been only 1 degree warmer in the summer, instead of 15+ over what the thermostat setting is. This is an honest man that you can trust, as everything he promised the new system would do has been proven to be better than expected over time. Thank you Steve for your honesty and expertise. Emailed Steve on a Saturday morning during Labor Day weekend. He responded promptly and agreed to check our inoperative air con unit. It was well over 100 in the shade! Steve was great! I had a nightmare scenario with one of the big companies that came out to do a service. Within 30 minutes my two working systems cost me almost $900 and one of my units was no longer working. Would only cost $25K to replace my units. I called Servco to come out during a hot day to look at my A\C that was not working. He spent a few minutes looking at it, topped the freon and left. By the time he showed up, my A\C was working again. He told me what to look for when it stopped the next time. I called him back the next week and he showed up right on time. He fixed my A\C and charged a fair price. He wrote the warranty info on the receipt and left. Having dealt with other companies in the Pahrump area in the past, I was hesitant to call anyone local.
