This place has gone down hill completely. Now you get soggy bread and fish. Fries are ok, but I'll never eat here again. Their big bacon cheeseburger is not at all what it used to be. $48 for 3 people to eat, and terrible food.

I have been here a couple of times over the past year. Every time I walk in I am always greeted by a smiling person behind the counter. They are always ready to take your order and they have been perfect every time. They always deliver your order to you and ask if you need anything else. This time I ordered the big cheeseburger combo. It came with a a drink, I chose Diet Dr. Pepper and fries. The fries were hot and crispy and have a flavorful batter type coating, but not too thick. Their fry sauce is good and compliments the fries. The burger itself comes with dill pickles, lettuce, and chopped onions. It also comes with mustard and ketchup. I know many people don't like ketchup on their burgers, but I really do when you get dill pickles.

I wish it was possible to give half stars because I'd deduct one half for the frozen patty but everything else here was top notch. Bacon double cheese was well prepared and bacon was just right crispy. Fries were a commercial frozen variety but a super thick cut served piping hot. Was was amazing to me is that these burgers were cooked to order but the service was FAST!! The young lady at the counter was friendly and her service was efficient. Good value for the money, too which is why they got five* from me anyway. Despite reviews that said this place was not clean, on my visit the place was pretty spotless. Highly recommend.

Don't order chili dog and expect something you can pick up and eat. Onion rings were too hard, and everything else was mediocre.

In…read morefact, we met with the previous owners of our home over breakfast at Connie's to discuss the purchase of what is now our house and ten acre lot in Bonners Ferry. That aside, Connie's has become something of a standby for us, particularly in the summer months when we frequent the nearby City Beach. The atmosphere is reminiscent of vintage Denny's and Lyon's restaurants (when I was growing up, my family either owned or managed both, so this place feels like home when I'm there). Like the Hoot Owl, my favorite menu item is their Ranch Burger, which mixes barbecue sauce with a red wine vinaigrette (as opposed to ranch dressing at Hoot Owl), and served on a toasted sourdough roll. Their bacon is very thick and very crispy, with a dash of black pepper around the edges for added flair. Prices are reasonable to what you would expect and portion sizes are generous, with lots of steak fries or hash browns or whatever your pleasure. I'm not big on breakfast, but fortunately they seem to serve lunch all day. Service has always been very friendly and efficient, although if you go on weekends (particularly Sundays), they can be obscenely busy and once or twice this has meant longer waits for seating and service. They're very kid friendly, and have been very accommodating when our son occasionally picnics his McDonald's Happy Meal to the table. Parking can be a little tricky out on the street, but they're very well situated on the corner on Cedar Street, adjacent to and actually connected to part of the eponymous Cedar Street Hotel, and there's plenty of parking on adjacent streets and lots with a short and relatively pleasant walk to the premises. I'm usually reliant on cellular data for any internet needs while I'm there, but chances are you're there for the food more so than lightning fast upload/download speeds so head on over and enjoy your meal!

We waited 6 minutes to be seated while 2 waitresses were at the cash register trying to figure something out. Once seated after another 5 minutes of being ignored, the busser brought us coffee and apologized. Another 10 minutes went by before we saw a waitress to take our order. 30 minutes later we finally got our food which was barely warm. We got a refill of our coffee 15 minutes before our meal and nothing after that. Today we went for breakfast. We were seated immediately and our waitress never showed up nor did we get our coffee for 9 minutes. She took our order right after. It took 20 minute after our simple order was taken before we received it, and once again no refill of coffee. I know Lost in the 50's is 2 weeks away, and if service remains like it's been, you'll have a bunch of upset customers.

Well, turns out it is no longer a coffee house, except that they do serve drip coffee, but I was told that they used to. However, the inside is warm and cozy With a touch of dive and a ceiling full of tchotchkes. It looks pretty cool. Despite looking like a dive bar, kids are welcome and the server was very warm and friendly. We were only there for an appetizer and a drink while waiting for our Thai food to-go order to be cooked around the corner with a 45 minute wait. The four of us ordered the Caesar salad and my son, the chicken strips. We were in for the surprise of our life. We discovered the best Caesar salad ever made. Ever. I'm not sure how they do it, but it was so delicious we all said we'd come back just for that salad. My son reports that the chicken strips were also really good. We just never would have expected the great quality of food we were served here in this "dive bar". The beers we had were also really good. I unfortunately do not recall the names, but my wife, oldest daughter and I all loved our drinks. We are so glad we ducked in here on a cold night. It made for a type of progressive dinner and we discovered something exciting that we look forward to returning to.

I have been here several times and usually have the seafood fettuccini, but this time I went for the prime rib. It was, without a doubt, the best I have ever had. I used to own a restaurant in Montana and served prime rib every Saturday night as a special, and people loved it! But this one beat even my own. The portion size with the fresh green beans and nice sized baked potato was great, and my medium rare prime rib was cooked to perfection. Out server Kay, was very attentive to everything we could have wanted. It was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had. We don't go out to eat very often, as the cost is so high anymore and not many places are even open in the evenings for dinner around here. So, thank you Hydra and Kay, for a great birthday evening dinner out.
