Our dashboard lit up with warning lights indicating a power issue, ABS braking issue, and steering control issue. Luckily, we were only 9 miles from the dealership when this happened. We were 8 hours into a 24-hour drive, but Matt assured us we wouldn't be stranded. That was very comforting. They immediately got the X7 to a service tech for analysis. After about 1 hour, they determined the main battery was defective. The battery had overheated and was bulging!. We were lucky it didn't explode or spill acid in the car. We were fortunate that they had a battery in stock. We were back on the road in 3 1/2 hours. We were very grateful to Matt and his team. They knew we were in a dire situation, and they did everything they could to help us out. Everyone we met at the dealership was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Buying a car is a major investment, and customers deserve honesty, respect, and continued support after the sale. Unfortunately, Sierra BMW failed in all of these areas. My situation started when I got a terrible scratch when I cut a tight corner in my garage. Frankly I don't understand how people get building permits to make parking garages in Champaign. Anyway, mainly because I didn't need my parents finding out about my little accident I decided to pay out of pocket for the damages. I first went to Tatman's to get a quote, seeing as I've heard good things about their service and I see their ads everywhere. I nearly dropped to my knees when I heard the price they told me for my scratch over my wheel, slightly onto my door and a few minor scratches on the bumper. "At least two thousand dollars..." They had explained that the amount of work they'd have to put into it (10 hours) would be the bulk of the cost. I decided to head down the street to M&M. I spoke with Alex who quickly came out to my car and accessed the damage. He told me very similar things to Tatman's so I believed his assessment. The best part was that he told me it would cost about $1000 and he broke it down piece by piece of what needed to be done. Originally the used the wrong paint, but realized the mistake and told me they would correct it at no cost to me. Although it took a little more time than originally quoted, they took care of some additional scratches on the car and the car looks as good as new. They are extremely helpful and I would highly recommend their services to anyone.

Twice at the dealer, and they basically told me there wasn't a problem. Peter B worked on it, and said the issue is the hose size -- metric vs. US. If someone uses a US hose, it will be not be exactly right, and will leak once the car heats up and everything is at pressure. No more problems after Peter B worked on it. Also took my older Camry there, and asked about my newer Camry. Peter B (ie, the phone staff) was upfront about things they can work on, and things they don't. They are very busy, and I prefer to know this information before booking an appointment for 6 weeks in the future. So, I think is a time saver to have a thorough discussion on the phone at Peter B. (I hate these webforms dealers are using now -- there's a) no place to record specific issues, they basically only want a simple job, like a 40k checkover, etc. and b) dealer service intake staff never read the webform anyway.
