The staff was very kind and worked really hard to help me get the light pink cat eye look I was going for! Very happy with the results

Ripped off nail

I came in to get my acrylics removed and got sat fairly quickly. All was going normal (dremeling off my old polish/ part of my nails, cutting them down, then soaking them in acetone). Why she decided to do this on my other hand, I wouldn't know but she started using another acrylic to get under my acrylics that were currently on my nails (if I knew I was going to be charged for this I would've just used some damn floss and home and popped them off my self smh.) ANYWAYS, I thought you weren't supposed to do that because it's damaging to your natural nail and gosh darn are people right. She quite literally starting RIPPING off my actual nail and I told her it hurt and she KEPT TRYING TO DO IT. At the end I asked the owner/manager if that was normal and showed him my RIPPED NAIL and he just goes "there is different ways we take off, you could've said what you preferred and we could've done it that way" (i.e., soaking them off) and then still charged me. No apology, no nothing. I've been here before and never had a problem. I'm not sure if it's a new manager or what but the old owner used to do my nails and was amazing. This place sucks now.

Paris dip powder 204 by Scott

Happy to report I found my nail guy!! So my previous experience was pretty awful, but my friend convinced me to try Serenity again. I walked in on a Sunday morning and this place was already slammed a few minutes after opening. There are tons of colors to choose from and the atmosphere feels more spa like and clean than many other salons in the area. I sat down right away and Scott helped me. He paid attention to detail, checked in throughout the process to make sure I was happy, and did not rush despite how busy the place was! I got Paris brand dip powder, color 204. And these are tips. The total was $55, and you get 10% off with cash. Well worth $49 if you ask me. Serenity will be my go to nail place moving forward!

The last two times I've had manis/pedis here, my nails were cut so short to begin to bleed on the sides. My large toe nails were cut at a horrible angle with cuticle nippers, resulting in ingrown toenails. I just came to pay $20 to have my SNS removed. The clear glue/base coat is still stuck to my nails.

Loved my dip manicure!

I just moved to the island from Downtown so I needed a new go-to spot to get my nails done. I walked in at around 4pm on a Monday the day after New Years. I expected it to be busy but I sat down within 10 minutes of arriving. The staff were very friendly and even commented on how my last dip manicure was not done well, which I agreed with. My nails turned out exactly how I wanted, so this will definitely be my new spot.

Another subpar experience here. I had limited time to run to get a pedicure so came here (vs the…read moredowntown location). I got the most classic pedicure on the menu (forget the name). The pedicure was inconsistent - for example, a hot towel on my left leg but not my right. The bristle brush on my right toes but not my left. Maybe the tech was distracted? The actual polish looks fine. The tech was also trying to push other services (ie manicure, wax, etc) which i totally empathize they are a business, but after the first two no's, I'd hope I didn't have to keep fielding no's? Ruined the relaxation of the service.

Not transparent with pricing. So the pedicure I got a few months ago was great, but today I tried a…read morenew service. I had an appointment for a dip manicure. I was told it was $53, plus an extra $5 to take off an existing dip - which I thought was annoying, but I went anyway. The service itself was pleasant, place was empty, they gave me a glass of wine. However, when I went to pay I was also charged $5 for "trending nail shape". I went in with round, natural looking nails, and that is what I asked for today. I was told that anything other than square was a "trending nail shape"... although last time I checked, nails don't grow square naturally? They were trying to make the argument that it was more work to file the nail. And acted like they did me such a favor putting a tip on one of my nails that broke. So I'm confused what the $53 price even includes. Anyway, my regular dip mani was $63 for no good reason - which is way more than any other prices I've seen even downtown or Mt. P. I don't think this place is worth it and will continue my quest for the perfect nail salon... sigh.

Free surface lot parking was easy. Since when is 25% the *lowest* (of 3 amounts) default tip selection? 20% for great work used to be considered generous... the youngens have gotten so greedy.

Her story reminded me of my own disappointing Harlow experience several years ago. I always meant to write a review, but never got around to doing so. I went for a men's shampoo and cut from the owner Kelli hoping to improve on the basic barber experience. Nope. Kelli took about 20 minutes on me from start to finish; same as a barber. I recall lots of banter with her colleagues in the shop during the rushed shampoo and cut. Seemed like Kelli was more interested in socializing than cutting hair. The uneven, mediocre results required plenty of touchups with my own electric trimmer when I looked in my bathroom mirror afterwards. Oh well. Lesson learned. I never returned. I don't recall the cost of the service; I think it was $35 plus tip. However I absolutely remember the outrageous "suggested tips" when presented with the credit card payment screen to sign -- 30%, 35%, 38%. What a load of baloney!
