Having completed Invisalign treatment a few years ago in Sarasota, I was searching for a qualified orthodontist near our new home as I needed a replacement retainers due to a new crown. As Dr. Susan Podray - Donovan is recognized by Invisalign for her high volume, her education, plus the office retainer scanning services, and front office knowledge helped me make the decision to come here. Very happy with my decision and would highly recommend the practice ! read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Myself and my two daughters received services here; my oldest now has a major jaw issue where it dislocates, my middle kiddos teeth now DONT touch, and my teeth on one side now sag so badly that I look like a stroke victim. I cancelled our contracts (or tried to!) but they're billing me for the remaining portion of my treatment, which includes removing braces (they didn't) and retainers (which I didn't receive) When I addressed the office, which was numerous times over a 3 month span, they refused to release me from their office (illegal btw) When they finally agreed, they billed insurance for services not rendered (fraud!) and charged me for the difference. She then got so worked up when I questioned the accounting errors, Keisha (good Lord find a new job NOT in customer service) called me nasty, UGLY, and then hung up on me. When I called back, they refused to speak with me, yet they won't release me from their office. So I'm a client without access to care? Makes zero sense. Go somewhere else. Pay the extra money. This place is an actual joke. Head on over to google reviews and you'll see how many other people also hate this "orthodontist", or so they call themselves. I've found a new ortho who is FANTASTIC, cleaner office, better staff, and actually is correcting the smile that Serenity messed up. Not sure how this place is still in business. Run away, don't walk! read more

"I have the best bedside manner in the world," or so Dr. Podray proclaimed in an angry huff when I attempted to share concerns about ongoing communication issues surrounding my daughter's treatment. Having lived overseas and received medical and dental care across the US and Asia, I was more amused than appalled at her exceedingly arrogant remark. Can you imagine believing you were *the best* in the entire world at anything? Whoever would want that level of infallibility and responsibility?! Despite the twisted humor of that moment, it was a sure sign we needed to end treatment as quickly as possible as it supported our growing concerns about the treatment our daughter was receiving at Serenity Orthodontics. Our daughter's braces were removed at her following appointment six weeks later. She received a poorly made retainer which did not fit in the office on the very day it was made. Rather than address the issue of poor fit, glue was placed inside to make the retainer somewhat fit on her bottom teeth and an excuse was offered about how her teeth must have shifted significantly during the three hours in between the time the impression was taken and the time the retainer was picked up, or else our daughter may have moved while the impression was being taken. All my husband and I could do was laugh. Such an ending was par for the course and precisely the unprofessional and incompetent service we had come to expect at every appointment this year. Knowing our concerns about the poorly fitting retainer would likely fall on hostile, can-do-no-wrong ears should we raise the issue to Dr. Podray, we have opted to seek a second opinion and have a proper retainer made elsewhere to avoid dealing with Serenity Orthodontics any longer. Paying out of pocket for a properly fitting retainer is a small price to pay to know the task will be handled by well-experienced hands. We highly encourage other families to look at several different orthodontists before making a decision as to which practice to use, and not to hesitate to switch orthodontists immediately if something seems wrong during the course of treatment. Doing so may help you avoid many issues we ran into during our daughter's orthodontics journey. read more

First, I want to start off by saying I never leave bad reviews. I hope you read this review and form your own opinions of this office. To start with a little about me and my background in braces. I moved to Georgia from Oregon. It was unfortunate that I couldn't have gotten my braces off before I moved. I had the "Harvard" of orthodontists treating me that had incredible office staff. Never had a single issue at their office. (I had a month in a half left in my braces when I moved here.) I had two teeth pulled on the top and we were waiting on a tiny space on one of the pulled tooth areas to fully close. Both spaces had already closed up before but one of the spaces re-opened after they did a grinding procedure on my teeth. (I forget what it was called.) I was in Roswell when I first moved here and went to a 5 star orthodontist office there to be quoted $1100 to take the braces off with retainers included. When I moved to Cumming, I thought it just wasn't an option to drive to Roswell for appointments so I looked for an office in Cumming that had DAMON BRACES. I was told that my spaces still needed to be closed and that it would take around 6 months to get them off @ $2,600 to be paid in full. It was my only option in the area so I had to bite the bullet take it. Most ortho offices want to see you every month- this one doesn't see you for a month in a half to three months between appts. Since my first visit- the front office lady- Keisha (SP?) was incredibly rude. They should send her to a customer service school because she lacks any good customers service skills. I have had a handful of issues with her. (TOO MANY TIMES GUYS!!) Back to the space that was supposed to have been closed before braces came off- well, the space is still open *and large and embarrassing* and I was told it was "just a triangle" and there was nothing she could have done to close the space. NOT TRUE. The space between the two teeth is completely wide open and neither of the teeth are touching at all. It's probably a good .5 inch space between my teeth that shouldn't be there after paying almost $3,000 to have that spaced closed and braces taken off. I had some work done on my upper right side of my mouth and needed a new retainer.- No problem at all- Paid $125 to have it made. Come about a half a year later and both of my retainers have cracks all in them. I take them out properly from the back- I clean them constantly and only wear them at night and then they go straight back in the container. You guys!!! My retainer BROKE in my mouth while I was sleeping from one of these cracks in their product. I called and explained this to Keisha and her response was "Well, they don't normally break in the mouth while sleeping." I was blown away. I told her I felt this was a product flaw and that I shouldn't have to pay $125 to replace it. I get to the office and the billing manager pulls me into a room and tries to justify why they would be charging me to have another one made. She had a few reasons under her belt just like any sales person would, right? This office is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. There are other offices in the area that have NO bad reviews about the orthodontist having a temper or bad office staff. (To be fair- all the girls who helps the orthodontist are great. Never had a single issue with any of them.) If you feel like you don't want to be charged an extra $1,000-$3,000 more for below par quality products and customer service- go somewhere else and run fast! read more

We just moved to the Cumming area. We went to three orthodontists to transfer my son's care before finding Dr. Podray. Her office is new and clean. Front desk staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. Dr. Podray has a great demeanor. She is very pleasant. She did a free consultation and took time to assess my sons current situation before making recommendations to complete his care. Her prices are competitive. She also has Saturday hours which are a huge bonus. We contracted for service right then. She worked my son into her schedule and was able to fix a broken wire and perform and adjustment during this visit. Highly recommend. read more
