Got a gel mani & regular pedi, from Jenny and Nancy, and they are both the sweetest. They definitely will take such good care of you! They give a great shoulder rub after the manicure too, which is such a treat! They're great at choosing matching colors for your polishes. Ok so I'm a dad, I dropped off my twelve year old soon to be thirteen daughter off to get her nails done. Not our regular spot but they had availability on a Sunday afternoon. My sweet baby girl showed them a photo of what she wanted. They did not look at what she showed them or did not care, apparently. When I picked her up they said they do not accept tips on credit cards even though there receipt had a space for tip. Here fake diamonds are crooked and her nails are not shiny. I don't publicly complain about poor service or a bad experience at a businesses but felt compelled to after my recent experience. In my book this went beyond poor service or a bad experience. This was unacceptable. I went in for a scheduled appointment with a group of ladies for an upcoming wedding. The appointment was scheduled days in advance. I opted for tips and acrylic. Apparently we were their last appointments as the technicians were leaving after our appointments. I won't go into the how i felt rushed and how the technician did not take the time to converse or interact with me or respond when I would point out something I didn't like or questioned her on the amount of dried acrylic left under and around nails. As I got in my car and was taking pictures of my nails my original plan was to go back in or return the next day and have them fix my nails, clean up the untouched cuticles, clean up all the dried up acrylic left around my nails. But the more I looked at the poor job they did I decided I didn't want to return to an establishment that would pass this work off as acceptable and let a customer leave after performing this type of work. The technician that worked on my nails was/is not new to their establishment and has been there for quite some time. I never went back to discuss an option for them to repair the horrible work they did and I did not attempt to get my money back. Shame on me for paying for it in the first place. I'm chalking it up to extremely bad service and a bad experience and won't return and will not recommend. On a good note I went to another establishment who spent 3 hours fixing someone else's work and giving me a beautiful new set of nails for the wedding. **see photos read more

UPDATE: it's been a week and I'm disappointed because the gel is already lifting on my nails. The gal I see regularly uses CND shellac polish and obviously it's much better and longer lasting. Also, I forgot to mention they did not apply sunscreen to my hands prior to going under the UV light to dry. I'm probably not going to return after all, at least not for a gel manicure. Pedicure is still okay so maybe in a pinch I'll go to them. read more

After getting engaged in January, I had to show off my ring of course. But I had to wait a few days for new band and resizing ... so I was holding my breath instead of telling my co-workers (what's the point if there's no ring!?). So the day we went to pick it up, I came here first. I picked this place based on Yelp reviews because I hardly ever get my nails done professionally. I definitely liked it. I'm actually leaning toward 4.5 stars because my manicurist was so nice (Lynn) and the manicure lasted for a week before I had to take it off. Impressive. But couldn't give a full five just because I noticed a couple of the towels she was using had what looked like old blood stains on them. I've seen this at salons before and it just kind of turns my stomach a bit. I mean, I'm guessing they're *clean* they just don't look it. Anyway, germophobe aside, it WAS a good experience. Very nice, modern salon. Everything looked sanitary. I was planning to just get a basic off-white or pearly pink color (nothing too flashy ... let the ring do the talking), but she asked if I wanted the white tips so I thought "Why not?" I'd never had a french manicure before and I was dumbstruck by how they do it. Very clever. It looked great -- so natural, yet so polished. I believe the french tips are $5 more than a regular manicure, but I think with tip, I paid $25. Not bad. Another thing that left a bad taste in my mouth though about this place were the other customers that came in. I was on my lunch break from work, but the women I saw come in were a bit haughty with the help-me-now-even-though-there-are-other-customers attitude). But I can't blame the place for its yuppie clientele. The location just around the corner from the upscale Ruby Hill neighborhood explains it all. One last thing. I made an appointment the day before, but they didn't check any sort of book when I came in. I didn't have to wait at all though. The customers coming in after me appeared to have no appointment and were helped (despite the attitude). read more

Need to update my review because I got a mediocre mani/pedi here on Sunday and today is Wednesday and not only is my mani totally chipped on all nails, but my PEDI is chipped! 3 days and a chipped pedi? Hrmmmmm not to crazy about that! especially when they are pricier then other places! Oh and they are actually rather rude when it comes to gratuity. I've been a loyal customer of Serenity Nails for more than 12 years. The manicurists/cosmetologists do a wonderful job and work so hard. Until today, I felt like their salon was clean and safe. It is one of the few places I will go indoors during the pandemic because I have a lot of health issues. I am so sad to say I will not be going back. I was there today and one of the other customers refused to wear her mask, even though she was potentially jeopardizing the health and safety of every other customer, as well as the salon employees. The management did not insist that she wear her mask, even though there is a sign on the front door that says "No Mask, No Service". They just pretended to not notice. Other customers followed the horrible example being set by this selfish and inconsiderate woman, and took off their own masks! I was furious. I am sharing this information, and writing this review in order to protect the health and safety of others. read more

I haven't been to Serenity in years. I was going to another place in Livermore . I decided to go back because I couldn't get an appointment at my other place. So I went in to serenity and noticed how run down and dirty the place looked. I had to use the bathroom, it was disgusted. The worse part their were cockroach all over!! I also noticed that the bags they put the nail clippers and metal instrument were not sterilize. The sterile bags were not even sealed when they took out the clippers. They pretend that they are sterile!!! I also watched them rinsed my clippers and other metal nails instruments and put them in a sterilization bag and put in the "autoclave" to supposedly sterilize them. Not happy with my pedicure today. My cousin and I went in together. She had a lady who took her time, gave her a nice massage. I had an older lady who rushed during my pedicure, the polish was cheap and honestly it looks like a child could have done better. I asked her to break my $10 in ones because I didn't want to give her a $5 tip. She then gave me $5 back and I asked again for her to give me $1s. She ignored me, and said, "$5 each???" Meaning a $5 for her and a $5 for the girl who worked on my cousin. The girl who worked on my cousin did a good job, but the older lady doing mine did not. I walked in and saw Ann for a acrylic fill and am very happy. My girlfriend got a gel pedi at the same time and is equally happy. They do a great foot massage and have a good attention to detail. Love the location, next to a nice juice bar/sandwich shop, Starbucks and Campo di bocce. read more

Well. This is my first manicure here. They are really nice. But horrible job. It took manicurist 3 hours to finish my nail. Within 3 hours nail has been polished over and over again for the color reason or the wrong imaging. The whole process. Manicurist only looked one times of designer pictures I want. I was surprised that how could she remember all ? And the works turned out to be awful. I had done nail extension on other shop as well but never had this experience. I hate my mail right now. And my nail actually painful when I got home . And what's more I think the manicurist has presbyopia the whole time she hold my hand with her eyes squinting. There is a lot default on the nail. The unbelievable part is that I still have A HAIR on the left hand thumb which dried by UV light and I can't even get it out . The nail edge has a lot uneven edge or uneven color . I wanted to put a on the middle finger. But she couldn't do it. So after couple times of trying. I gave up. It was a ugly moon. I posted my nail on xiaohongshu as well A lot people comments. The nail was done by unprofessional way. I just really disappointed of this experience and won't go there anymore. I went there 3 times in total. The first two experience was good. But it was all for simple pure color. So my opinion: If you want something professional manicure to be done. I will not recommend to go this shop. The total expense was 55+ 12. Affordable but not recommended to those who pursue delicate nail work. read more

I have never complained about any business or any nail place but I had to for this place ... I've been to multiple nail places and this is BY FAR THE WORST. First of all during my pedicure the lady kept getting up and leaving .. mid pedicure. After she finished I noticed she didn't cut ANY of my cuticles , my pinky toe has an uneven cut and there's a brown speck on the big toe.. when it came to my acrylics I told the lady I was stuck between two colors and she persisted that I get the one she likes ... so I was FORCED to get ombré. And now one hour into my nails she's halfway done because she keeps getting up and leaving !!! Also I've had to tell her MULTIPLE times ow because she kept burning me and almost every single one of my nails was crooked and she kept going like she didn't care... she then filled them to make them straight and went so far down that now none of my nails match ... there's also a huge black speck in one of them and they aren't blended. The shapes are all diff sizes ...super rude , very poor job , and seemed like none of the ladies cared about the quality of their work .. half ass job . Never ever coming back . read more

I called 45 minutes before needing an appt for a mani/pedi. I had a set amount of time to be completely dry before I needed to leave. With two ladies working simultaneously on my feet and hands, I need not have worried. I was finished in 30 mins (including arm and neck massage) for both and now I am just waiting to dry. My toes look fabulous, my hands are ok, but that may be more to do with the polish than the application. (I rarely get my nails polished as I don't have the time to let them dry). It's convenient for me, plenty of parking. I will likely be back. read more

The lady who greets me is always so sweet and remembers me. She's asks how my baby girl is and is always so warm and inviting. I've brought my mother, my brother (for a bro pedi), and two best friends and they always get us in right away. Covid friendly, they are very clean and check temperature. Great ambiance doesn't happen at your average nails salon but this place has it from the dark carved wood front counter to the cream colored leather spa chairs. Even though the interior is more opulent than the average strip mall nail salon - the price was about the same as I paid elsewhere ($70-ish for spa pedicure with flowers on toesies and a full set of nails) . The tip must be paid in cash. Treat yourself to a spa pedicure here and you will be so relaxed and so happy to have found this place that you will not be able to resist writing another 5 star review raving about it. read more

Not my go to salon but it gets the job done when I am in need of a pedicure because it's so close. + clean and organized atmosphere + not too much chit chatting aka talking smack about customers (I always pretend I'm not Viet - makes it more entertaining!) + they let doggies in - walked the dogs down and spontaneously wanted a pedi - she even attempted to paint the lil one's nails + friendly and not too pushy with all the add ons + decent prices - pedi didn't last that long, white from french chipped a couple days later - they don't go to town on all the extra skin/cuticles like the hardcore Viet salons (said they can get in trouble for it, etc.) - that's one of the reasons I go get pedis in the first place! I met my mom and a friend here for pedicures a few weeks ago. We had made an appointment the day of and they had our foot baths ready to go as soon as we got there (yay!). I was feeling really sick this day and nothing sounded better to me than a nice relaxing pedicure, unfortunately I was a little disappointed. The pedicure was OK but nothing fabulous that made me want to rush back. The prices seemed steep for what you get. For the price we paid I expected to have a longer more in depth pedicure (longer massage, more scrubbing, etc.). This place was large, very nicely decorated, clean and had an all around comfortable atmosphere. I may come back another time to try something different, perhaps a manicure? I have been coming to Serenity Nails & Spa for a little over a year now, this place is fabulous! It is clean and the staff is very friendly. The best part is the length of the massage I get every time I go there, it's fantastic!! I would highly recommend you ask for Tracy or Nancy, they are my two favorites :-) At most nail places I find they try to rush you out the door and here they take their time and do a great job, which is why I continue to go back! This place was awful. I walked in to get a pedicure, and it took forever for someone to acknowledge me. During my pedicure, they seemed really rushed. They used an oil on my legs, and while she was "massaging" my legs, she got the oil all over my jeans that were rolled up, and it stained them. When it came time to pay and leave a tip, they wouldn't allow me to leave it on my card and insisted on cash- I had $1, so that's all they got. The good: My pedicure was long and they seated me right away in a chair. My paint looks pretty and after 3 days still looks perfect :) The bad: My lady had long nails that dug into my skin during the massage and she also used them to scrape off paint while painting my toes. The staff was friendly, but I definitely would not come back for a manicure. I asked for a gel manicure, and while they saw me right away, the woman went really quickly and missed some of my cuticles. She also put two coats of topcoat on one hand and one coat on the other...one week later, the polish isn't hanging on. My service was amazing! The total for a spa pedi & shellak mani was $55! Super affordable. My nails tend to chip, ding and just plan get ruined within moments of finishing my manicure. The shellak paint job is beautiful and has been in tact for 4 days now! Longest time ever. I even walked off from our hotel room and forgot my Visa. They allowed me to leave (left my id for "leverage" - my choice) and go to my hotel to get my Visa. They do not take AMEX :( If you have time go next door to Aventine for a facial! read more

I've been coming here for years and I love it, but I can only give it so many chances to redeem itself. The past several times I go get a mani - my nails start chipping less than a day later. I wish they had a policy where they fix chips for free up to a certain number of days. (Anyone know of a place in the area that does that, btw?) Then I might reconsider. I am tired of giving them a try and hoping for the best and then turning into a hot mani mess way too soon.
