Unfortunately, my experience at "serenity" was far from serene. I never leave reviews, as I like to give small businesses the benefit of the doubt. However, I am writing this immediately after ha ving my nails done in the parking lot outside (see photos) lest this happen to anyone again. I went in to get my natural nails shaped and painted with a clear coat before a date tonight. I didn't want gel, or really anything special- this is about the simplest thing one can ask for at a nail salon. The lady was nice enough, but she used a very coarse acrylic file on natural nails (a big no no, as it tears natural nails). The shaping is quite inconsistent- pointed on some nails and round on others. When she pushed back my cuticles and trimmed them, she CUT one of my fingers, and it began to BLEED. She disinfected it, and applied pressure (yay!), but it was slow going, so she decided putting ACRYLIC NAIL GLUE on my cut would make things go faster... of course none of the tools were disinfected in anyway after this... I came in looking to get shiny, shaped nails for my date tonight, and I left with rough, uneven nails with a large superglue-scab on my pointer finger. I feel like a fool to have paid $15 for this experience. read more

This place is very clean and I've had my nails done by 3 different people at 3 different times. EACH person did a wonderful job. I mean really wonderful. I'm extremely picky about getting my nails done, but haven't had any issues here. I've gotten regular gel polish on my natural nails. I've gotten a pedicure and toe polish. I've most recently gotten a full set with gel polish. Very friendly staff. Also, the DND DC nail polish brand lasted longer than any brand I've ever had used on me. read more

$20 to get cuticles pushed back and nails shaped. No polish. Usually I'm not upset at the expense prices of nails because after all we use all their supplies for our fancy designs but with no design and little supplies used during a ten minute visit I did not expect to spend $20. I will not be back. This has been encouragement to do my own manicures. read more

Great, prompt service. Professional setting and affordable prices. I usually just get my nails done, but they also do great on pedicures. Susie is the best! read more

I like this salon! Their staff is friendly and services are done efficiently. I've had many manicures, pedicures, acrylic and gel applications. They do a good job and it lasts. read more

I always have a great experience. They are very consistent with their work. Very accommodating. Love getting my pedicures there.

I have been getting acrylics done since I was in Middle School and I am now 20 years old. I have never had any kind of problems with acrylics. My normal nail salon was closed right after the 4th of July so I decided to go here for a fill in. I liked my nails and it was closer to me than my other nail place so I decided to go again for a fill after 2 weeks. (keep in mind, I never go more than 2 weeks before a fill) One of the nails popped off during the second visit and I noticed a bit of green underneath. I was concerned and the nail tech could tell and reassured me it was okay. He put on a new acrylic and filled the rest of the nails. I was a little bit worried but trusted that he was the nail professional and knows best. It has been less than two weeks and this morning a different one of the nails popped off and it is very green underneath. After taking off all the nails I have at least 5 with bad fungus. This is ridiculous and should never happen with a licensed technician. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! Again, I have never once had any type of problems when getting acrylics and have been getting them for years. read more

Walked in with a small wedding party, and we were all seated immediately. Most of us got simple gel manicures and pedicures. We all finished in about 2 hours, and the service was great. If I am ever back in the area, I would definitely go again. Nothing too over the top about the salon, but if you're looking for a quick mani/pedi, I definitely recommend read more

Just when I thought my daughter and I had found a decent nail salon...today we went in to get our nails done as usual. There was a younger guy that took my daughter, he was being friendly asked her how old she was and such. Well he ask me to turn around and look at the length of my daughter's nail for approval and he says "look she has stripper nails!" he thought it was funny but I didn't laugh and neither did the guy that was doing my nails! I look at him like SERIOUSLY!!? I The comment was HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE especially when addressing my NINE year old daughter! Our nails look great and the service was nice until today! I am visiting in town and need to get my nails done and a pedicure. I phoned in advance to see if they have dip powder available and they did confirm they carry dip at the shop. I was able to walk-in and immediately they had me sign and I was escorted to start my pedi. My pedicure turned out great but I later found out they charge $20 extra bucks just for gel polish. Still seemed a little steep that's fine. It's time for my nails and we started out with musical chairs. I was sat in the first seat and then moved to another person who then moved me a third time because the second person forgot they had an appointment. I'm still okay but now the 3rd technician proceeds to file my nails and did not soak the dip polish like they are supposed to do. Then he doesn't even get the remainder of my glow in the dark color off my middle finger on my left hand. You can totally see the color coming through the new color after asking him to remove it. I will be in search of a new place when I'm visiting from Phoenix because this place will not receive another coin from me. read more

I chose 1 star, because that was the only way to proceed with this review! I scheduled an appointment with nail technician Jimmy. Does a pretty good job in pedicures. Because he's done good work in the past on my toes, I decided to schedule pedi and shellac manicure with him as well. He obviously didn't want to perform my shellac manicure. He skipped steps, did my massage standing to the side of my chair. I couldn't even rest my arms on the manicure table! Worst experience ever! I went to Hawaii after, and my shellac starting peeling around the 3rd day! Mold started to form under the shellac. After returning from vacation, I went back to speak to the owner, that was unfortunately on vacation. Jimmy said he would have to charge me for a full shellac manicure. I asked why I was being charged, and another young technician said, "Because I didn't come back when the peeling started". I explained, that I was still in Hawaii when it started forming mold and peeling! I left, because of the horrible service!! I will never return!! Bad thing, is that I wanted to hide my nails the entire vacation!! read more

I was in huntsville visiting my cousin & i was on yelp & came across this place. I'm always hesitant when trying new nail salons just because you never know what to expect. I arrived early because i didn't have an appointment. I had to wait a bit due to all of the staff not being there but Ms. Susie was the sweetest & she got my ingrown nail which was a SUPER PLUS! most people try to get it & get scared but not here she went for it & got it all! I was very happy about that! she also polished my toenails good & overall just have some a great pedicure. I'll be sure to be back everyone was sweet & welcoming. They are clean everything came out of sterile packing. I am so glad i came here it was a great decision. I also got my nails done, the lady was good & very sweet as well i don't remember her name & she did a good job on my french tip. read more

Today was the worst pedicure I have ever received here or anywhere! The lady cut my toes multiple times, and whatever she put on my toes before the polish burned sooo bad. She gave like a two second massage, on each legs. Its like she didn't care at all.I honestly had to catch myself multiple times so I didn't kick her. read more

I have been looking for a good nail salon to take my mom to when I'm in town and finally found one I love! Super nice and quick. Called and got an appt the same day. I have been coming to serenity almost a year. I brought my mom for the first time for Mother's Day today. They half did my mother feet and when I let them know they did not put oil or scrubbed the bottom of her feet they tell me that she will need to come back. Instead of fixing the issue. I will not be coming back to this shop and I see now the manager I talk to act like he did not care.. poor service read more

Favorite nail spa that I've been to in Madison. Ken did a great job on my nails. Everyone is friendly and fast.

Serenity Nail Spa is a pretty good nail shop for it being my first time. I use to live in Huntsville but moved away but my family still lives here, so I was home visiting. I needed to get my nails done and needed a shop to go to, so my little cousin suggested Serenity as she goes there. She called 20-30 min before we got there and made me an appointment with Bay. They booked my appt over the phone and I was set to come in the same day. I really liked this!! I also like that they have a lot of techs, nail and toe stations so even if I had to wait, it should have moved quickly. Bay was very nice. What I liked about her was she got me in and out and didn't take a lot of time. I had to soak off my gel polish and then I got a gel manicure. She listened to me in the shape of my nail and did them exactly how I asked her too. I really really liked this. I am very particular about my nail shape. The fact she did them exactly how I asked was a plus for me. Overall, I really liked Serenity Nails and will come back to Bay when I am home. She listens and is quick which I like. I would recommend Serenity Nails to others. Go to Bay! read more

I have tried this salon multiple times out of pure location convenience.. however, after my last experience, it is not worth it anymore. I will drive an extra 10 minutes to a different salon. The woman who did my nails cut into my finger and made it bleed badly. She didn't acknowledge my immediate pain. The photo I will attach is as soon as I got in the car. I am now several days out from this happening and that wound is still causing me pain and discomfort doing daily activities. She did not even apologize!!! First time in my life I did not leave a tip. This was my final straw and I will not return. The technician also could not figure out how to make my nail shape rounded. So the lack of English communication is a whole different issue in itself. I tried to be patient in this area during past visits, but the injury I left with this time was unacceptable. Take your business elsewhere. I recommend Noire Nail Bar by Whole Foods. read more

I went here to get a pedicure about 2 weeks ago. I waited a hour for the pedicure! They don't tell you how long you have to wait, they act like they are going to take you right away. Anyways, my pedicure looked nice after it was completed so I thought okay great. About 3 days later the paint started to chip and peel. I was so mad. Just FYI I was doing normal things like going to work, not swimming or anything. I didn't bother going back there because I work and I was going away later that week...which is why I got a pedicure! If you want a pedicure that doesn't even last a week...this is your place. I'll never come back here. read more

I have always had a good experience here. Today is no different. I walked in for a pedicure, and after signing in, was taken right back Ena is doing an excellent job of the deluxe pedicure. The ONLY place i go to for my fills and overlays, i see Jay, he is the best! Most places apply the powder way too thick but Jay does the most natural and professional job. Also there is an older woman in the back who gives great pedicures, especially the massage, i think her name is Mary. They are just usually packed so i would recommend an appointment. read more

I have never been more frustrated getting my nails done. I went to get my nails dipped for an upcoming event. The base polish bottle was glued shut from so Thuy, the manicurist, spent 10 mins trying to make an opening for it. Then proceeded to paint my nails with it. She had to force the brush in and it came out frayed which didn't work but she still kept doing it. I asked if there was a different bottle and she said no, which I found hard to believe.. It took her almost two hours to do my nails. I asked for her to stop and just take it off and she wouldn't. She kept saying "trust me it'll be fine". My nails looked terrible and the surrounding skin was stained black. Worst experience of my life. read more

I went by here, without an appointment, because of how close it is to target. I was transferred to 3 different workers before someone kept me. The woman that did my nails left a lot of them crooked, and they were not filed down straight. I had to tell her to fix them and even after that they were still left not perfectly even. There is one man who seems to be "in charge" and he isn't very friendly and acts like he doesn't want anyone's service. Seriously people, do not go here. Everywhere else I have been is a 10 star compared to this place. read more

Just moved to the area, read a few reviews and decided to give them a try. I called to make an appointment and they gave me preference. I showed up right on time, picked a color and they seated my daughter and I, and got started right away. They do have a choice of pedicures, and the prices are average. I'm able to come after work because they are open until 7pm. I'll admit I'm thrilled that they warmed the lotion! My tech took his time, my pedicure was about 45 mins. They also provided my daughter and I with a complimentary bottle of water....they environment was very clean and relaxing. Bottom we are satisfied with the service and price and will recommend this salon to all my friends and family! read more

they did a God awful job with my shellac. it's sad when I rarely treat myself to something like this. when I spent time on a Friday to get my nails done only to come home to a job that looked like a toddler painted my nails. I made time again to get it fixed on a Sunday only to be sat in a corner to wait for God know how long. after 30 min I asked for my money back and was denied a refund. they can keep the money and never get business from me again. now I have to live with these awful nails read more

Wow this place was horrible.. The man that took care of me was rude and everything I wanted was upcharged. He was trying to charge me $5 for the shape of my nail and another $5 for the color that I wanted. I wanted a metallic color and he said it would be $25 extra. I wanted squared shape and he gave me wide shape. He did not ask me if I liked the shape before he put the nail polish on. I have never been so displeased with my nails and I have been doing for 3 years now. Go there if you want to be robbed. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but I feel the need to let my town know the issues that arise after visiting this nail salon.
