We were very fortunate to be referred to Serenity Hospice. I met with Dan and he went over the care that they could offer for my Mom once she moved into memory care. She's been under their care for a few weeks and so far, so good. They work very well with the memory care team and communicate well with me as needed. My dad had been in a nursing home for several months and when it came time for hospice I of course chose Serenity. They had taken care of mom and no way would i trust anyone else. Janice was first on the scene and it was like a family member came to the rescue. Next was Diane who remembered my dad and I and continued his care. Even though he wasn't awake she talked to him like a family member or long time friend. I don't have any experience with other hospice companies just didn't need to. We received great help when settling up my grandma for hospice. It's a scary thing but they explained everything well. Dropped off in home care equipment and supplies. All of the staff was friendly and responsive. We called ER on call nurse. Christian showed up within 20 minutes of placing the call. He's an absolute Godsend. He was so kind, patient and caring to us and my grandma. He reassured both of us and answered all of our questions. I have been trying to find the right words to convey my profound gratitude for the staff at Serenity Hospice. If you want your family members to be treated with deep respect and dignity, compassion, care and stellar around-the-clock-support - please call Serenity! They provided the gold standard of care for my mom over the past 5 weeks. I highly recommend their services as I have no idea how we would have made it without them. Trying to find hospice care is always an unwelcomed task and yet, when I first met Dan, their community liaison, I knew I had found a treasure. From the very beginning, he approached us with great compassion, support and wisdom unlike other hospice facilities that treated us as if we were buying a car. It was clear his main priority was for us to receive what we needed during this difficult time. He provided education, grace and time for us to make the decision to work with Serenity with no pressure at all. And I am so grateful we did! We cared for my mom at home for 5 weeks and could never have made it without the Serenity staff. Every nurse, health aide, social worker, on-call staff - were amazing. My mom was a retired nurse with high standards for nurses and she loved working with nurses, Maressa and Buena. Even if a mistake was made (which is unavoidable) the staff were quick to repair it and to make sure we received exactly what we needed. Even in the most difficult times, we always felt their support. Whether it was midnight or the middle of the day - medical staff were just minutes away from coming to the house to help. Dealing with the illness and death of a loved one is the most difficult and it is only bearable when surrounded by a loving, caring community. In the last 24 hours, Michelle and Dan at Serenity Hospice have brought enormous relief to my 77-yr old mom and myself - as my sweet 87-yr old Papa enters Stage 7 Adv Alzheimer's. After 8 years of caregiving, we were so very desperate for more help but didn't know if we would ever get it. Serenity was referred to us by my Papas Primary Doctor and I'm incredibly grateful for the compassion, love, sensitivity, and expediency Michelle/Dan have demonstrated. In a very short time, they returned my calls/spent hours on the phone and immediately came to my parents home to start the assessment process. I already feel like the 10,000 pound Elephant has been airlifted from my shoulders. Thank u so much for your full understanding of my desperate need for collaboration - so my Papa can have the highest level of care in his final chapter. Maybe even more important is my Mom is able to have a compassionate advocate for both of them. I cannot say enough great things about this company. I was lost when my Mom stopped walking after having Covid in Jan 2021. I called a few hospice companies and Serenity immediately called back. They assist my Mom 3 days a week. They assisted on transporting her from one facility to another. One of the owners, Janice A., is excellent. She made the transition go so smoothly. For the past eight months Serenity's staff has been taking exceptional care of our dear friend. At 94 we were delighted to have him each and every extra day we could as long as he was not in pain. The staff was very caring and managed his pain all the way to the end. They were available 24/7 and if needed they responded anytime of the day or night with someone either on the phone or out to the house. Serenity Hospice was extremely responsive from the first time I contacted them. Dan, who I met first, came to the home and answered all of the questions that were presented to him. Ray, the social worker, was always available for calls. We chose Serenity Hospice and were not disappointed. For a short time, my friend moved from the hospital and was able to stay at her home, but as the illness and care grew progressively demanding, she was moved to a wonderful care home. In both cases, Serenity Hospice was front and center in making sure that the moves were smooth. Both in the private home and in the care home, Serenity Hospice provided loving and caring warmth and kindness. The nurses that assisted was so responsive...thank you - Kathy, Patrick, Maresa, and Marie. These nurses made sure to keep in contact via phone in letting me know how my friend was progressing and gave me their full attention when I had questions. The bottom line is...I felt that they really cared. For that, I am eternally grateful. I would highly recommend Serenity Hospice. read more

Serenity Hospice was fantastic for us! My husband and I felt so alone when his mother took a turn for the worst. We didn't know how to deal with somebody that was really dying and they came to our rescue! They did an incredible loving caring job and they handled every detail. My husband was on hospice with Serenity Hospice for 9 months and was unfortunately discharged. They didn't give me reason why which was annoying. I was angry at them and scared at the time, but now that I have experienced a horrible hospice company since then (Family Hospice), I wanted to come back and review Serenity. While I may have had my issues with them off and on (I am picky), they were ultimately a good company with stellar products and excellent care. The chaplain, Roy, who unfortunately retired, was awesome!. Our Home Health Aid, Allan, was exceptional! He loved my dogs, was down-to-earth, and took amazing care of my husband! Hands down, the best HHA I've had. Everyone came through and they worked with my schedule as far as when to come to my home which was very helpful. While I never met the social worker, Amy Stone (only because I felt that it wasn't necessary), we spoke on the phone several times and she went out of her way to help in every way she could. So, I can with all honesty, recommend Serenity Hospice Care. read more

Wonderful supportive caring services. Our family lives in other state and I don't know what we would have done without the additional support and loving care by RN Elaine, the volunteers and staff from Serenity for Mom. I am kept informed of what I can do for Mom, Elaine keeps in communication with me and supports my communication with Mom. All areas are supported; health, social, safety, and emotional well-being. Such compassionate loving care and guidance that supplements the care mom is receiving in the residential care home where she lives. Especially during Covid with restrictions on travel and visits, it would have been so much harder to do our best for Mom. I will be forever grateful for all they have done and the time and love mom has been given. It has truly been so much more then I could have ever expected at this time when support, information and guidance is truly needed. read more

If there was a higher rating I would give it. My friend went into Hospice care directly from the hospital. They came to the hospital to fill out all the necessary paperwork, ordered the equipment, i.e. bed, wheelchair, oxygen, etc. from Horizon. Made arrangements for the items to be delivered immediately, had her transported from Eisenhower hospital to my home. All of this started at 3 p.m. and she was in my home at 7:15 p.m. The R.N. Kathy came to my home to make sure she was getting all the medication she needed from Rose Pharmacy. She wasn't receiving adequate pain medication so Kathy made sure the right medication was delivered immediately. It was - in two hours. Maria the LVN came every week to check vitals and assist in anything that was needed. Lilia came M,W,F to shower my friend. She was great and my friend looked forward to every visit. She was quick, polite and made my friend feel loved. They are available 24/7 for any questions or needs and I did reach out to them over the weekend - late night and early morning. Unfortunately my friend only was around for 32 days, but she was very happy with the care she was given. Kathy, seemed to know that Aug. 30ieth would be her last day and on instinct came to see her and be with us until her last breath. Kathy then took over and made all the notifications and arrangements necessary. What a relief for me that someone so knowledgeable could handle the notifications and arrangements for us. I highly recommend Serenity to anyone in need of hospice care. You will be very happy with their service. read more

It's been a year now since my mother passed away, so I'm getting over the loss of her at age 82. But I am still red hot about the theft of her wheelchair out of her room by hospice just after she died. She died on a Sunday and on Wednesday we went clear out her room and the chair was gone. Hospice had retrieved their bed and some other equipment, and there is no doubt in my mind that they mistakenly took the wheel chair, too, thinking it was theirs. OK, understandable mistake, but there was no effort put forth by either Windsor Court the assisted living facility or hospice to try to locate the chair. It was kind of like, "She's dead, why are you fussing about her chair?" Well, in the small town where I live that chair would be very valuable as a loaner to folks who can't afford to buy their own. I'm still sore about this. read more

Dad was in decline for several years mentally and with dementia, that last thing you want is more trauma to your loved one. Dad was hospitalized for two days before coming home on hospice, We needed a hospice organization and reviewed several online and called at least 3, decided to visit only Serenity based on the phone interview. They gave accurate information, came to the house to set up the entire process, were caring and knowledgeable. Our daughter who does wound care at a hospital was very impressed with the nurses. My mother was in California Rehab and Nursing and they referred us to Serenity Hospice. I agreed to let my Mom go to my hostile sister's apartment for hospice care because Serenity promised me that I could get as many updates as I wanted on my mom's condition since my sister wasn't likely to inform me of anything. She was moved to the apartment on Thursday and I heard nothing that day or Friday. Over the weekend I could have called Dan, the man with whom I'd made the arrangements, but I chose not to bother him at home on a weekend. So Monday morning I called and was told that the nurse would call me back with an update since it was early morning. The next call I got was the next morning (Tuesday) just before 9 a.m. when my sister called to tell me my mother had passed away. I called Serenity again and got apologies, etc. and was told that the woman I was speaking to (Gigi) would call me back herself with an update. Never heard a word. Finally, on Wednesday at noon, I called Dan, the man with whom I had originally spoken. He was very apologetic and told me he would look into it and if Gigi didn't call me back, he would do it himself. 24 hours later I had heard from no one. I had wanted to bring my mother to my own home 4 hours away but was told the trip would not be good for her, and that's why I chose hospice for her in Palm Springs and because Dan said he understood the situation with my sister and would make sure I could get any information I wanted/needed from the nurses on the job. I am more than disappointed that they did not keep this promise. On the other hand, from what I understand from my sister, the care my mother got was excellent and she was very happy to have their help during this time. So I can't fault the nursing staff, just the administrative staff. If you have ANY special needs for your loved one, make sure you get something in writing and/or speak to the nurses themselves and don't rely on administrative staff to get it right. read more
