After reading some of the reviews on Yelp for Hand & Stone locations in general, it was safe to say…read morethat I was nervous--really nervous. But, for the introductory price, I couldn't say no. I booked an 80-minute massage online (awesome!), and wondered what my experience would be like. I'm glad to say it was pretty great. I was scheduled with Nicole, who was wonderful: accommodating, knowledgable, and efficient. The "push" for a membership wasn't even a push... So much so, that I actually signed up. It's a month-to-month agreement, and yes, you do have to go to a location to cancel. The girls at the front desk were very helful and informational, addressing my (many) concerns.

I visited back in mid February 2025, and I am finally writing my review. I really needed to take…read moretime and process my visit. Will I return? Probably not. I knew going into this, it was a "Chain Spa." So my expectations were scaled back a little. When I entered, I gave my name then filled out a quick form. I was taken back for my massage first. The bathroom was clean. My massage therapist was kind. She did a great job explaining everything, I was comfortable the whole time. I felt rejuvenated and relaxed. No complaints. Afterwards she even took the time to explain to me how I could help myself in between massages. Next up was my facial. When I entered the room I was spoken to about CBD option that was an added cost. I really did not want to have that conversation when I am about to have a procedure. It came off a little tacky. I would have liked to have that conversation on my check in versus in the room. My facial was not too bad. It was not the best I have had. I give it a 75/100 if I had to rate it. I do appreciate the time she took doing extractions. When my facial was done, I got dressed and situated then headed out to the waiting room. I continued to pay. But, while paying they tried selling me the membership, which I knew was coming. I respectfully declined. It is also hard for me to make a decision after a full moment of relaxation. I feel like I am intoxicated after all that relaxation and should not make a decisions while operating heavy equipment or sign important things or drive a car. After I paid I went and sat in the waiting area while my friend finished her facial. The individual doing her facial came out after it was done and let out a big sigh. I looked up and realized it was my friend therapist. I personally do not know what the sigh was about but, I felt that was inappropriate. Perception is everything. Then there is a front desk clerk with short blonde hair complaining about how there is staff meetings on a certain day and she has off those days and wishes they were not on said day. Then she complained about how someone got someone to sign up for a membership, but someone else got the credit instead of her. Ugh, I hate places that work on commission. It really sets the tone for customers. I've always said watch what you say and do in a waiting room while customers are around. One thing that was nice, a heated shoulder pad while I waited was offered to me, which was nice. Overall I do not think I will be returning. I would rather pay almost $400 for these services elsewhere.

From her nurturing demeanor and professionalism I felt at ease... even from the first few moments i knew this was going to be a cathartic session because of how safe i felt. She works with beautiful music, and crystals and sage and big metal singing bowls and her hands. Its a wild paradox that someone can hold you lightly and also with strength and certainty and you feel comfortable to let go. Yes i cried. I hate crying and it was amazing. My whole body was lighter and i was having visual experiences that made sense- its a beautiful and rare thing to feel that your cells got nourishment. Truly cathartic and bonus was the enchanting lightness i carried with me from her session. This is part of my wellness routine

She begins each session with a conversation so that she can truly meet you where you are and provide a wholistic approach to what you need to heal. Whether that is an emotional or physical release, a deepened connection with source, an energetic balancing or cleansing, or so on. Every session is unique to where I am at in my physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual bodies. She always seems to know what is wrong before I open my mouth, but she always holds space for me within her loving glow. Emily has an incredible way of making you feel instantly comfortable, even the most advanced of wall builders, like myself. I have broken down into tears before getting on the table, had massive physical releases, and healed in ways I thought weren't possible. She has guided me through deep emotional trauma as well as physical trauma (I had abdominal surgery to remove 15 tumors in 2016). I will say it's not all glitter and romance, there are often hard lessons to be learned and dealt with, and they can be difficult (but always necessary) and she guides you through it with light and love. I could go on and on, but really my words will mean nothing. What Emily offers is intuitive and experiential. Everyone's session is powerful, uniquely their own, and always far beyond what they expected. She is a true facilitator for your healing journey and I am blessed to have her in my life. My advice: go in to your session with an open mind and ready to receive her gifts.

Two of the instructors I've had are nurses as am I. just another comfort level for me. They have a better understanding of arthritis and joint replacement. I have both but I'm feeling stronger, have less pain and am improving my balance. Senior citizen discount and free first class. Located close to home, same parking lot as my bank, nail salon plus restaurants; Italian, Asian and Taqueria and a martial arts school. Looking forward to trying a massage, they have lots of other services, so definitely check out their website. I'm about at the end of my 10 pack and will do it again. It's worked well for me.

I asked Jen if she could give me a sample of all of her different massages that she performs. She was very accommodating to my request. Jen used a combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue and Therapeutic massage techniques during our session together. I really enjoyed the long gliding strokes along my back of the Swedish massage. The Deep Tissue massage also felt great on my upper back and shoulders. I can't say enough good things about Jen. She is a very calming, compassionate person to talk to as well as an excellent massage therapist.
