I left Freedom Massage last night with one of those awkward forehead dents/lines that you get from lying face down in a massage bed for too long. That line stayed with me as I walked into a restaurant for dinner, but I didn't care. As funny as it might have been to others, I wasn't even thinking about it because I was in my own little world of post-massage euphoria.
I scored a great deal for hour-long massages from Freedom Massage via Living Social. I'd been thinking about getting a massage for myself just because, but I have a good friend who was aching from golf strains and who has really been needing a good massage. So when we saw this deal we jumped on it. I took it to the next level and bugged the owner to see if we could schedule massages ASAP, before the living social deals were technically even "ready" to use. The owner, Diane, was SO understanding and accommodating that she was able to squeeze us in that very night.
It was amazing. We both went there straight from work, filled out the paperwork, and then I fumbled around on my Android looking for the living social voucher numbers (which Diane was extremely patient about, although I imagine it was probably very annoying to her that I first handed her a living social voucher that was for Whole Foods and took another several minutes to find the massage ones!). Finally I found them, and we were shown into our respective rooms.
There was gentle music playing, soft lighting, and a faint trace of incense burning somewhere. The massage therapists we had were both extremely kind and warm, and I felt very comfortable. I really like that they took the time to make sure you're okay with the pressure level, scent/fragrance level, and what exactly you came in for- they are very careful to ensure that you have as comfortable of an experience as possible.
Well, my hour flew by. My therapist, Allison, was perfect. We talked to the point that she knew which areas to target, and then I drifted off into a blissful massage nap. I was only spoken to again when it was time for me to turn over, and the next thing I knew it was all over :( I got up feeling so relaxed, calm, de-stressed and I was met with a refreshing cup of ice water as I was exiting.
My friend had a similar experience. Since he was there for muscle strains and aches, however, I know he received a deeper massage than my happy, spa-like massage. His therapist (I *think* her name was Kristen?? Sorry if it's wrong), really worked on his problem spots and found other spots he didn't even realize were affecting him. She was very thorough, and he also left with an immense amount of relief from his pains.
Overall, we both had amazing experiences at Freedom Massage. We came in with different needs, and we both left extremely satisfied. We will definitely be back, and are so happy to have found Freedom Massage. read more
