Fine Offerings shares a building with Modern Classic, and while it looks relatively small from…read moreoutside, it actually extends much farther back than I'd anticipated. The store is full of ancient furniture as well as old oil paintings, busts, trinkets, muskets, dining tables and more. The lady that ran the shop was very nice, and she had her baby with her. After visiting as many antique shops as I've been two in the past few weeks, they were all beginning to look identical to me. Fine Offerings, however, has a lot more unique items than many of the places in the 8th South area. It's odd just how many old oil paintings of funny-looking children there are out there, and it seems like this place has a lot of them. Like most antique shops, the prices at Fine Offerings are a bit steep, but the selection and sheer variety of priceless old knickknacks are very impressive. From old rocking horses to ancient fishing lures and battle muskets, Fine Offerings really does have authentically old stuff. I typically can't bring myself to buy such things (as neat as I think they are), but I found myself looking at a beautiful old oil painting of a sheep dog for a long time. Unfortunately, I just didn't have $115 to spend. Anyhow, Fine Offerings is probably the neatest antique shop I've come across in the area (unless you count Pre to Post Modern...but that's not really an antique place).

Most of the tables, chairs, and screens in Fine Offering are very ornate and old-fashioned. But they have a few good finds for people who appreciate odd relics from the past: a set of framed wax envelope seals, a wooden grandfather clock, and baskets full of old photos and product labels ($3 each).
