First time visit and I will be back! I had a wonderful 60 minute prenatal massage by Raja. She was so sweet and I left feeling very relaxed. I'm very excited to have found Serendipity and Raja - will definitely be back! read more

Seriously, the best spa!!!! Love the whole experience from when you arrive to when you leave! It is a great place to get a massage and all the staff members are great! I don't live locally in the area but always make a point to go and get s massage when I visiting the area because it is that great of a place! read more

Great massage with Steven! My facial with Reva was good as well, but the facial massage could have been better! they also did a great job handling Covid precautions!!! read more

I was really grateful to find out about Serendipity because it proved to be so close to my home and it is so easy to park. Others have mentioned how clean and nice the environment is. But more importantly, I am really grateful for the work of my massage therapist who seems to have a radar or six senses to identify what is going on and focus on the areas that need attention most. I feel so much better in my posture for days after each massage. I decided to sign up for the subscription since I realized I am using the service on regular basis, so may as well some money as well. read more

I experienced Serendipity Wellness Studio for the first time today and it was blissful. Arrion Holt was my massage therapist. Arrion was very mindful of the areas that I requested he focus on and it was quickly apparent he is very skilled at his craft. He was able to relax my upper back/shoulder area; it felt wonderful! I did not feel like he was rushing and would check with me periodically to make sure his pressure was okay. I am looking forward to becoming a regular! read more

Best deep tissue massage ever! Raja is the massage therapist that people dream of. Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. My hamstrings will live again because of her! I will be back for sure. The spa is beautiful and calming. #loveit! read more

Fantastic deep tissue massage from Maclan. It was my first "cupping" treatment. It relieved all of the tightness in my shoulders, back and hips. It was a wonderful experience. read more

Always a great visit and never disappointed every time I visit. Not the cheapest but always worth the money. Therapists always addresses my requested target areas. Covid procedures in place. Maclan was superb. read more

This Wellness studio is amazing, and so is Tonya! I go to her for a therapeutic massage, and when I leave, my body feels great! But the after effects felt the next day and the next, can be felt in even a more beneficial way with less pain, and greater flexibility overall. I bought into the wellness plan, and I have to express how wonderful a thing I have done for myself! We spend so much money on health insurance and doctors, but when it comes to massage, our mindset tends to be that it is an expense that we can only afford once in a while. Rethink this! Massage is such a great health benefit! You can't put a price on that! Also, you can be sure, that pristine care is given during this COVID time, with great measures taken to ensure our safety. read more

I love this place. It's a super relaxing atmosphere for a massage at a reasonable price. They have all the fun aromatherapy stuff and it usually comes with the massage. I've had so many different masseuses here and all of them have been quality. I like that they have the "Custom Therapeutic Massage" because let's be honest not all parts of me need the deep tissue and not all parts of me will feel relaxed just from a Swedish. This gives you and the masseuse the freedom to make it what you need. In addition to the aromatherapy I love the heated massage table and they have a couple of different compresses that they may or may not use during it as well that I love. I've had a facial here too. I wouldn't take my word on it because I've only had one facial and my skin isn't super problematic, but for relaxation it was wonderful and, again, super reasonable for what it was. One last thing I have done at Serendipity that I enjoyed was a Yoga Nidra class, which I just call "sleepy yoga". It's more of a mind yoga that puts you into a deeply restful trance. I loved it and it (at least the one I went to) was a donation based class, but the teacher requested that none of us donate and instead pass it on in a kind act to someone else. This place is awesome for quality of therapy, but does lack the FULL spa experience if that's what you're looking for (which they are called a wellness center and not a spa). Everyone there has been super helpful and are always very kind. read more

Darren's massage was one of the best I've ever had. I have recurring back and neck pain so I came in looking for a bit of bodywork but also for relaxation after a long stint traveling and taking care of kids. He did a great job working out some problem areas near my neck yet overall the massage was very relaxing. He was very good at interpreting my verbal cues and descriptions of what I wanted out of the massage and the end result was very rejuvenating. I also loved the incorporation of aromatherapy in the massage. Darren walked me through how he would use the different oils (lavender and orange blossom under the head rest while I was face down, and then a mask with peppermint to help clear my sinuses once I was face up) and it was a nice touch without being overwhelming. read more

Best place to get a massage in Northern VA. Been many times with many different masseuses and all have impressed. Highly recommend!

Excellent spa for massages and facials. I have been a client for years and I can't say enough good things about them.

I have been going to Serendipity for many years--this place is the real deal. Over the years I have seen almost everyone there and I when I make an appt I don't even care who they put me with because I sincerely feel like every therapist is fantastic. Today I saw Barry. In a word, AMAZING. He is a true healer. read more

After my 3rd massage I am not regretting signing up for their year program. Connie is AMAZING. I am very sensitive to deep pressure especially on my feet. I've been to tons of other places and only 1 other massage therapist could ever touch my feet. No longer.....Connie to the rescue! She is so wonderful. She gives above and beyond customer service. I am so glad I am doing this for the next year. It's super affordable and not massage envy where you can get passed around. Very calming and relaxing atmosphere. They have tea and water to enjoy in the lobby before your massage which is lovely. read more

I got my massage from Steven and he was great! I highly recommend this place. This place also followed all covid precautions! Thank you for a great service read more

Two hour custom massage is $$$ but worth every penny. Connie is amazing - asked me questions ahead of the treatment, chatted with me just enough with long stretches of time with no talking so I could just relax. She seemed to genuinely care about where I needed a little extra pressure, and has a great, calming presence. read more

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and suffering from terrible back pain (specifically on my sciatic nerve). After another sleepless, pain-filled night I called Serendipity and they were able to get me in that day for a prenatal massage with Darren. Darren was super kind and professional and made my comfort the priority at every turn. The center was clean and inviting. I also really appreciated that I could opt for a scent-free environment and oils, as I'm really sensitive to smells right now. My massage was absolute heaven and what's more of a miracle, I was completely pain-free that night and was finally able to get some much-needed rest. I immediately booked another massage! read more

Just had my first experience at this spa and it was lovely! They have a clean, relaxing waiting area, and they get you back for your service quickly. My masseur was Jordan, and he was excellent! Have to admit I was a little leery because he's at least 10 feet tall and I don't generally like a ton of pressure during my massages, but he was awesome. Very communicative, asked me what it was I wanted, and he made sure throughout the service that I was comfortable. Everything about this place was excellent... Their prices are great, and I will absolutely be doing back for more! read more

It was great experience. My friend recommended me this place. I went for a facial, I see lot of great reviews for massages at this place so I had doubt on how it will turn out. Ravi did a great job. read more

20 months after having my first baby I finally had a massage. Tonya did an amazing job creating a relaxing experience but also working out all my knots! I had an amazing 90 minutes with Earl! I feel like Jello!

I have been to Serendipity several times over the past three years and highly recommend them. Typically I have had massages with Steven who is excellent and I had a wonderful prenatal massage last night with Darren. I was impressed with how thorough and safe they are with COVID protocols (wait in car, pay from car, temp check, masks, separate bin for your things) but they did not ruin spa atmosphere. Darren was kind and professional and the first stop he took me to was the bathroom (clearly knows pregnant women)! He gave me great feedback about where most of my tightness was and offered to walk me to my car as the massage ended at 8:30pm and they are tucked back away in a dark parking lot. This has never been offered to me at any place I've ever been and I felt very cared for. I declined as I parked right out front but he still waited outside the studio until I got safely into my car. I hope to be back soon! read more

An unexpected day off was a perfect opportunity to get a facial and check out this highly rated establishment. My husband and i have been looking for a place where he could get a shiatsu massage and i could gussy myself up. I called and setup an appointment. The person the phone asked me if this was my first time, i said yes, she then asked me to provide my credit card number. I found this very unusual. I am uncomfortable giving my credit card number out to unknown persons and told her i would be happy to give it when i came for the appointment. I was told that i could not schedule a appointment giving my credit card. Well that was the end of that. To date i have never been asked for a credit card number to schedule doctor, spa or any other appointment. If you are new and looking for a facial, massage etc don't waste your time unless you are will to share your credit card. read more

It was my first time here and I intend to return! I had a SpaFinder gift card and found them that way and decided to give them a try. Friendly staff greeted me when I walked in to their very calming environment. I saw Earl for a 60 minute massage and it was heaven! He had just the right amount of pressure to work out the kinks but not hurt. He's a natural with a good intuition - I didnt have to ask him to adjust any of his techniques. I said my shoulders and lower back were the worst and he worked them right out perfectly. Highly recommend Earl. read more

It's been forever since I treated myself to a facial, and based on the recommendations of a local FB group, I decided to come here. Ravi was amazing. It had to be the best facial I've ever had. There's no rushing here. It was so relaxing as Ravi worked her magic. The face, neck, and shoulders massage really enhanced the experience. I left feeling rested, with a face that sparkled. I will definitely return. read more

Unfortunately, I am down to one, reliably excellent therapist here, but luckily I've been able to change my schedule around to see Jenny for my monthly membership massage. I've lost 3 of my previous favorite therapists for a variety of reasons, but only Jenny has continued to exceed my expectations. That said, don't book her because I need her! :) read more

Bonnie and Luz are amazing! I got a couples massage here with my mom and we both thought it was one of the best massages we've ever had. I fell asleep twice only to be awoken by my own snore. It was that good. I loved the hot towels they placed on our backs and feet. And the heated pillow under our necks and towels over our eyes made it sooo relaxing. Beds are heated and felt roomier and wider than beds at other spas I've been to. I don't usually like deeper massages, because I feel so sore and stiff the next day rather than lose and comfortable. But somehow, Luz was able to get all of my knots out without me feeling even a hint of soreness the following day. Her scalp and temple massage was also so wonderful. Gah I wish I could get a massage from these ladies every day! They are not only skillful but also so pleasant and sweet. I'll definitely be back. read more

I went to treat myself for my birthday and I'm so glad I picked Serendipity! I've had tons of massages and this by far was one of the best Chrissy was amazing ! I also had a facial by Ravi and I can honestly say I will never go anywhere else ! Best experience I'm glad I found them . read more

I went to Serenity on 7/5/15 and had a 90 minute massage with Laura. I found Serenity through Spa Finder (and by cross referencing it with Yelp). The location in Burke, VA is very convenient (took me 15 minutes to get their on a Sunday night) to Alexandria and the surrounding areas. I will start with what I didn't like and finish with what I liked and why I would consider coming back. I don't like how the check in and check out process is set up at Serenity. The space does not have a front desk designated and when I arrived (had I not called to say I was a little lost) I am not sure anyone would have known I was in the lobby. They also have merchandise for sale but it wasn't clear who you go to purchase it. Each massage therapist is responsible for checking out their clients. It felt a little awkward (specifically, when it came to providing a tip). I am use to having someone else do the transaction (and then giving the therapist the tip). I also have to dig my therapist for not understanding how to check out with the 2 Spa Finder gift cards I had brought (and this was the reason for me trying Serenity in the 1st place). My check out process took over 30 minutes. I was worried when I left that I had been charged multiple times. Although, the checkout process was a bit of bundler; I would still consider going back to Laura. She was excellent and really found a way to apply enough pressure to make it a deep tissue massage without pain. I also loved that Laura (Serenity) offers as part of their massage aromatherapy (by breathing in fragrant oils). If you'd like they'll offer you a heating pad during your massage also. The massage room itself was very spacious and could see why they can comfortable offer couples massages. The room also was not over the top (which I have seen) with yoga like symbols and/or different colored walls. Laura was also great with keeping up with a pleasant conversation and understanding when I was quiet not to be worried. I'd go back to Serenity more often if it wasn't so expensive (that is a comment on massages overall). My overall experience was very good. It is also a nice feature that Serenity offers single massages and/or the ability to purchase a package of massages for either 6 months or a year. The packages although don't offer you a huge savings are a nice idea if you plan on getting massages frequently. I also thought. How they presented their packages in a folder were very clear in terms of the monthly pricing and the time periods. I didn't have the same clarity when I went to Massage Envy which also offers packages. read more

I really wanted to love Serendipity. I went 3 times (each with a different therapist, for a 90 minute massage), hoping "the next time" would be good enough for me to want to go back. Sadly, each time was weirder and/or more disappointing than the time before. And the 3rd time was just plain bad. Each time I went, I asked for a deep tissue massage. Each time, the therapist did whatever they felt like. Some Thai stuff, some stepping on me, etc. The massages each felt disjointed and not relaxing. And each therapist was quite chatty. read more

Wow! I love this place. I've been several times, but today's visit inspired this review. Darren was fabulous! I've been struggling with some lower back and tailbone issues. I shared my issues with Darren and he took charge! He knew exactly what to do and I could feel a big change following the 1-hour massage. I was so relieved and encouraged that my pain can be managed through massage! I'll be back very soon! read more

Was having troubles sleeping and lower back pains. Searched Yelp for massages around me. Found Serendipity and was able to book online for first thing the next morning. I booked the 60 minutes custom massage was Luz. BEST MASSAGE EVER! She was able to help my lower back pain with a variety of massage techniques. She is very knowledgeable in the massage field and knew exactly where to focus on. She uses traditional Swedish + deep tissue, Thai stretching, as well as walking on my back and hamstrings. I've gone to many upscale luxury spas and have paid double or even triple of what serendipity charges for less quality massages. I will be back to have Massage sessions with Luz. Thank you Luz! Because of you I was able to sleep like a baby! Also, my back feels 1000x better! read more

I have had four massages so far and I am incredibly happy with the services I've received. I made my first appointment with Bonnie based on some review mentions and have gone back to her for all my subsequent visits. My muscles are often sore from frequent workouts and it really helps with that. Bonnie is excellent at using just the right amount of pressure and asking about any particular problem areas. The atmosphere overall is pleasant and relaxing, especially in the massage room. I'm usually quite groggy when I leave and surprised I don't fall asleep sometimes during the massage. I've tried a few other places in the area and this is by far the best value. It's the only one I've been back to this many times. read more

**Review for appointments with Eve** Came here after finding out that new therapist was onsite (Eve) who would be here on Weds. for Ashiatsu. I prefer this form of massage as it tends to be the deepest form and helps with myofascial stretching and release. Eve asked me to give a description of my issues and I also explained that I lift weights six times a week. The lifting tends to put a lot of wear and tear on me. She assessed the areas that I described having issues with and let me know what she'd like to try. Each session we've done more than just Ashiatsu. We did stretching, Thai massage, and lymphatic drainage - all which worked in helping my lower back, shoulder and hip issues. Also have to add how strong she is which caught me off guard but totally helps in helping me stretch and moving me around. I'm 6'3" 360lbs and she handled me with ease. Being a big guy this helped me let go and let her work on me. I HIGHLY recommend Eve for anyone looking for deeeeep tissue therapy and especially if you're into any kind of weight lifting. read more

Easy to schedule an Appt. Amazing massage from Steven. So glad I have found a non-chain massage therapy center in the Kings Park West area! They went above and beyond to make sure everything was clean and sanitary due to COVID. Also one of the best massages I ever had. I am an athlete and find it hard to find massage therapists who really know what they're doing. Lots of stretching and manipulation along with deep tissue massage. I will be a regular client of Steven's now! read more
