Mr. Frank Parker's work was done in May 2015…read more However, I am providing a supplemental review to rate Mr. Parker 3.5 stars and not the 1 star. We did have hints of a septic problem and Mr. Parker diagnosed it 100% correctly. He probed the field and determined that the effluent was not getting to most of the field. Considering other indications such as extra lush grass in a certain area, he recommended that we "have absorption system investigated for pipe clogging or crushing of crossover pipes." It took me five years to get a firm to do that investigation. One firm convinced me to let them install a D box on the other side of the field, an improvement that would NEVER solve the problem. I agree that the D box and parallel connections were a worthwhile improvement, if the field didn't have the problem that Mr. Parker suspected, but it did. Mr. Parker was correct in spades. Multiple firms over the almost five years told me that the field would never pass a test when we sold the house. All but one did not want to do the investigation Mr. Parker suggested, and I was willing to pay full price for the work. I finally got one local firm to quote and do the work. However, after scheduling and contracting two months out, when the men came with the backhoe, the lead man said that they wanted to save me money and do something else - use the D box to direct the effluent away from the problem area - to cure the problem area. I am not sure what they wanted to do would have had any affect because of a back-path created by the parallel piping to the original series configuration. However, what he proposed would NEVER have cured anything. I refused to back down and said please do the investigatory work that we contracted for. They offloaded the backhoe and when they starting to dig, the hole immediately filed up with water. The lead man said that our field was bad and he wanted to stop to save us money, and fill up the hole back up. I said get a pump truck and he said it would cost extra money. I approved the expense. After continuously pumping the water they uncovered the crossover pipe, the one between the bed and the first lateral. There was a big hole in the pipe larger than a baseball. That was the cause of our problem. The lead man wanted to cut out the broken piece and cap both ends. I said that would change the configuration without filing the changes with the county. He said no permit was filed for and they wouldn't tell the township or county. I said heck no. I made him replace the crossover pipe and paid them for the work. The system is working perfectly for many months since that repair. I dealt with four firms over five years to get someone to do the investigatory work Mr. Parker suggested, and they all wanted to manipulate me to do something else, and many of the recommendations were VERY expensive. Mr. Frank Parker's diagnosis was 100% correct. Thanks to Mr. Parker's expertise, and my aggressive perseverance, we repaired our septic field for relatively little financial cost. What I wrote in the earlier review was totally true. However, if you have a problem and you want someone technically qualified to diagnose it, I recommend Mr. Frank Parker. Steve McEvoy

While fixing an issue at my neighbors across the street they drive their equipment over my curb and sidewalk. When I called and let them know they told me that they spoke with the workers who never even came over to my house. They said it was not them. I told them that I had ring doorbell footage of them breaking it. They have since given me the run around. I can't get anyone to assist me. I am told a manager will call me that was over a month ago. Do not use this company if you are looking for a company with values.

I received a call the next day from Bob the owner who was immediately interested in helping with my problem. They brought in one excellant piece of equipment after another. They were able to dislodge a clog in a cast iron pipe which avoided digging up my yard. The cost was reasonable and I would highly recommend this business.

To make a very long story short, I called Hickman Sanitation about an hour before I had to go to work after discovering the sewer vent issue and not knowing where to turn to fix it! Chris Simmler and his crew arrived at the promised time, quickly assessed and diagnosed the problem and fixed it! I was very very relieved!! I was aware of this company as it is a customer where I work and so I immediately called it first. But I had never called upon them before this. I am very glad I did call them! Chris was friendly, reassuring and professional. He also understood my tight budget and offered a suggestion as to how I could pay for Hickman's service over time. I really appreciated that as well! Had a very bad experience with Hickman and would never recommend this company…read more Hickman pumped my septic in Aug and then I had a septic issue (clog) in Oct. They came in October, claimed I needed it pumped again (2 months after just having it pumped and we only have a few household occupants). So, he proceeded to pump it again, snake the line, and claimed to have fixed the problem. They sent me a bill for $375 for about an hour of work. I called them multiple times post that appointment - stating it wasn't fully fixed and the pipes were still gurgling. They refused to come back out to take a look and claimed I needed an entire new drainage field ($10-30k) without doing anything to diagnose the issue. Once again, the septic completely stopped working again 2.5 weeks after Hickman was there. I called them, they refused to come out b/c they wanted me to purchase a drainage field from them and not actually diagnose and solve the problem for me. The lady was rude on the phone and the workers refused to assist. They were not interested in hearing about the history of the septic or previous issues I've had. I called On-Site Management, who had worked here prior - they immediately came out, fixed the issue, and said I absolutely DO NOT need a new drainage field. It is an issue with one pipe I can replace, b/c my pipes are case iron. They will actually diagnose with a camera and solve the problem, not guess like Hickman.

They gave zero notice that they were arriving to do work. There were no markings from 811 Call…read moreBefore You Dig, which greatly disturbed me because there are lines in my backyard. They dug into the ground with such carelessness. They broke existing PVC pipes and dug up wires, which were left laying on the lawn. When I questioned them about calling 811 the man in charge of the 3 man crew said he called, but they do not mark in the back yard, which is entirely false information. I called 811 myself and the company did call, however they started before their lawful start date by three days! When I tried talking to the man in charge, he told me to "get back in the house where you belong". After such disrespect I told him I called 811 and that I knew he was digging unlawfully. He quickly and carelessly partially covered one long ditch and left two massive holes, his crew threw plastic bottles, spray paint can and lid, and PVC scraps in the ditches to just cover it. At this point, I do not know if they will return on August 5th, the lawful dig date, as there has been zero communication. I am renting the property and the company also has not informed the landlord that they were coming. My landlord had to call them to figure out the plan. There is zero excuse for lack of communication because this project has been on Kulp's waiting list for over a year.
