I'd driven past it countless times over the last few years but either didn't have enough time to stop or couldn't convince anyone else to stop with me. During my Lancaster Adventure Day, though, all of that changed. I purchased a Single Scoop ticket online ahead of time for $16.75 and reserved the very first time slot of the day at 10am. I figured a late-summer Thursday morning would be the sweet spot, and it turned out to be a great decision. It was busy enough that the place felt lively but not so crowded that I had to wait for every exhibit. Parking was plentiful, and I somehow managed to snag a spot right in front of the GIANT cow out front. Honestly, my day was already off to a fantastic start! The only hiccup of the visit came during check-in. Even though I'd already purchased my ticket online, I still had to wait in the same line as everyone buying gift shop items, purchasing admission and asking questions. Since there were only a two employees working both the registers and admissions, the line moved a little slower than I expected. If I could change one thing, it would be creating a separate express check-in line for folks who already have tickets. Once I finally made it inside, though, everything became easy peasy! The exhibits are completely self-guided, so you can wander at your own pace learning how Turkey Hill makes its ice cream and iced tea while playing with interactive displays along the way. One of my favorite parts was creating my own virtual ice cream flavor, complete with custom packaging. I also wanted to film my own Turkey Hill commercial, but those stations stayed busy the entire time I was there, so that'll have to wait until another visit. Naturally, I made a beeline for the tea sampling station. As someone who appreciates sugar-free options, I was thrilled to find both Zero Sugar Sweet Tea and Zero Sugar Fruit Punch available to sample. Both were fantastic! Then it was time for the part we'd all been waiting for...unlimited ice cream samples. One thing I really appreciated is that they weren't tiny little "blink and it's gone" samples. You picked two flavors, and they served actual scoops in a bowl. For an attraction centered around ice cream, that felt exactly right. My only tiny complaint? Wooden popsicle sticks instead of spoons. They definitely got the job done, but they made eating melting ice cream a little more awkward than it needed to be. Still...free and unlimited ice cream? I'm not about to complain too loudly! I spent about an hour wandering through the exhibits, playing with the interactive displays and enjoying the air conditioning on a hot August morning before making one final stop in the gift shop. Prices there were about what you'd expect for a tourist attraction, but there were plenty of fun souvenirs if you're looking to bring a little Turkey Hill home with you. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend visiting the Turkey Hill Experience at least once. I don't know that it's somewhere I'd return over and over again, but it was a fun, interactive way to spend an hour learning something new, eating entirely acceptable quantities of free ice cream and escaping the August heat. That sounds like a pretty successful adventure day to me!

The interactive exhibits were engaging, and the kids loved learning how ice cream is made and creating their own virtual flavors. The highlight was definitely sampling the different ice cream flavors and making our own ice cream creations.

The bartender at the time was particularly very friendly and I could tell he gave off the same vibe to everyone. As I left this bar with a friend, one of the (assumedly) local patrons was telling us we should've purposely nudged a guy seated so that we could more easily leave the bar instead of slowly crossing over. That particular patron looked back at the first guy very annoyed. The first guy was probably already at least semi-drunk and just kept trying to go on with his "joke". Another thing that surprises me is that this bar is closed all day Sunday and that they open at 8 AM according to the Yelp page and stay open until 2 AM. Those are mad hours This coming Sunday, there was a big game with Eagles versus the 49ers. I've never heard of a bar open so early in the morning and not open on Sundays. Not open on Sunday because a lot of regular church-goers in the area, or the staff need a break and maybe they would want to go to church? Reminds me of Chik-Fil-A without the super late hours and instead of family friendly style food and drink and chicken icon, booze instead. There were no smokers when me and my friend were there. I was thankful for that. It looks like PA started to ban smoking in all bars in 2021. Personally, don't miss it! I already have a hard enough time breathing and sleeping without being around that stuff! No food at this establishment. Quality drinks on tap and reasonable prices. Nice staff. From a neighborhood bar, can you ask for anything more?

My favorite part about Jakes Bar is that Dwayne and Derek remembered my choice of drink and shot. Their selection of games you could play for free was excellent, and in good shape - none that we played had missing or damaged parts. And they don't charge for this activity. My grandson liked the posters on the walls. We took home information about their regular Magic games as my son has gotten back into playing. If you're looking for a specific game, it's best to ask for help, so the one my grandson wanted to take home and play some more was waiting for us when we were ready to check out. We will be back!

Its very cumbersome to look for a specific game in here due to the volume of it all. I do highly reccomend coming here though.

I am including the description from your page on Uber Eats so you see. It was delivered without linguine there wasn't even the side salad that used to come with it or even a slice of bread. I called twice and whoever the young woman is answering the phone is rude. And no I was not nice to her. I will admit that because I do not respond to rude her response was "what do you want me to do about it" and that's paraphrasing, but that was the message . We don't deliver she says. I know you don't deliver. The problem wasn't the delivery. The problem was the order. And no, I'm not driving more than half an hour to come pick up a replacement order when I wanted to treat myself to delivery from Fiorello's. And her whole attitude of what do I expect her to do about? It is simply not acceptable. That's what I can't get past. She could've actually just apologized. Does she want me to explain a restaurant and what front of house does when there's a problem? We've been customers for years. And every once in a while we order via Uber Eats. And I don't understand how your own kitchen doesn't know that this comes with linguine or any kind of pasta that's plain that you put the calamari over? But above all else, I don't do rude on the phone. And again she would not have gotten an edge in my voice if she had just been polite to me instead of me getting the whole attitude if she doesn't really want to be there on a Sunday night and talk to anybody on the phone or help people. I am attaching photos, so you see. When employees have attitudes like that it makes it less likely that people actually want to come into your restaurant.

The hot bar featured clam chowder and pasta fagioli, a pasta dish in rich vodka sauce, tender chicken piccata, and a standout seafood medley of baby shrimp, calamari steamed in a garlic white wine sauce with clams and mussels. The cold bar was just as impressive: fresh mozzarella over ripe tomatoes, broccoli rabe, grilled eggplant, Kalamata olives, pickled baby mushrooms, sliced portobello with balsamic glaze, and classic Italian deli favorites like prosciutto, salami, and cubed Parmesan. Their focaccia pizza is always our favorite. And the wood fired pepperoni pizza was cheesy and delicious. Dessert included mini cannolis topped with powdered sugar that I bet you can't eat just one, a light sugary donut, plus sugared fresh strawberries & cantaloupe. Everything was filling, beautifully prepared, and full of authentic Sicilian flavor. Big thanks to Andy for treating my son and me after a long Morning , truly the best!
