The Movesmith is fantastic, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for their services in the Philadelphia/Chester County area! (Note: I'm sure they do longer moves as well, but I only used them for a short one). Garret was extremely responsive and communicative from day 1, emailing me back within minutes, finalizing things with a clear and easy to understand online contract. No legalese and hidden fees - it is what it is and you know that number walking in, assuming you stick to the parameters of the move (more to come on this part later). Even though we had a scheduling snafu a few days prior to the move, Garret was super quick to accommodate alternate (even earlier) time slots. On moving day, Garret and his awesome helper David were there ahead of schedule with a clean truck and all the equipment needed, and got cracking right away. They took care of all the hard work, including dealing with the aftermath of what appeared to be a rodent issue in the storage unit. Couldn't thank them enough for dealing with all that and doing their best to get my stuff as clean as they could. Load-up and drop-off was quick and efficient as could be, and they spared me from all the heavy lifting at both times. Ultimately, the estimate would have been spot on had it not been for the rodent issue, which of course wasn't in their hands, and I'm still more than happy with what I got for the overall $ paid. I used The Movesmith a few months ago for my move from West Chester to central New Jersey, and this company was fantastic every step of the way. This was my first time hiring movers and I felt that I was really put at ease with their professionalism. I really liked the Facetime/video quote, so that The Movesmith could get a good idea of what needed to be moved and I also didn't have to go out of my way to schedule it. I thought their quote was fair and what I had expected, and received it within an hour. I had gotten quotes from other local moving companies, and a different moving company had quoted me almost twice the cost and told me I would need 4 movers for a 1 bedroom apartment, because "it's cold in December." I have used The Movesmith movers twice in the last 4 years. My husband and I will be moving 1 more time and honestly third time I'm sure will be the charm! As soon as I inquired about getting a moving quote with both of our moves their response was almost immediate, professional, and the their quote was actually higher then the actual completed moving bill I paid on moving day. Two of the three men that moved us were on my first crew 4 years earlier and we were so happy to see them again. These guys are great! They worked so hard to move our things and got everything (minus our giant couch that we ended up donating because it wouldn't fit in the door of our new place...our bad) into our new apartment. Garret and his team were incredibly friendly guys who were very professional and had a great attitude about moving our things. They were scheduled to show up at our apartment between 1-2 but the job before ran late so they called well in advance to let us know they were running late. VERY appreciated! Can't recommend these guys enough. Will definitely use them again next time we move but hopefully that won't be for quite some time. I was dreading moving due to the bad experiences that, well, everyone has with movers. Garret, the owner, personally assisted me with my move from West Chester to Philadelphia by providing an accurate estimate (4 hours) and showing up himself on moving day to assist his team with packing. The gentlemen working the move were cordial, polite and professional, and made the move in exactly 4 hours from start to finish. I don't think I've ever heard a positive experience about movers, let alone an experience where the price didn't fluctuate at the end. Legit moving service. I chose them because they were the only company to come out and survey my house to give me an accurate fixed price quote and their price was very competitive. The move went perfectly & I couldn't be happier with their service. They wrapped furniture in blankets, didn't complain about the small stuff that I didn't have time to box and made me feel like less of a man because of how easily they handled that damn armoire that my brother and I struggled so much with when we moved into the house. Our 3BR, 1800 sq ft townhouse was loaded, moved 1 hour away, unloaded and the furniture was reassembled in less than approximately 9 hours. Pretty impressive IMO. read more

The Movesmith handled our move from Chester Springs to Collegeville. Everything was so easy. Garrett was very responsive in getting me the quote and when I had a questions. Their availability was great and I actually confirmed the move online. I was told they would arrive between 8-9 am and they pulled up at 7:57 am. The 3 young men got right to work and were quick but so careful with everything, no dings or scratches on anything! My husband and I were very impressed. We used the Movesmith about one week ago to help clear out my Mother's apartment. The company (Garrett) was very responsive in scheduling a move date within only a few days of my initial inquiry. I filled out the online inventory and request, and was able to get a quote the same day. The flat rate fee was very reasonable and no extra fees were added to the move. Six men showed up. Despite the fact that the elevator was not operating, they went right to work moving all the contents down four flights of steps. Never complained and di the job efficiently and professionally. They all demonstrated a very positive attitude. They were sensitive to our needs and always made sure that they were meeting our goals. At the destination they moved all the items in the same manner. It was a delight to work with them under some stressful situations. We just had The Movesmiths move our college grad to her first apartment. The move was from Wyomissing, Pa. to Jenkintown, Pa. and it could not have gone smoother. Big thanks to Joe and Tom for the professional service during my move. My move was somewhat complicated as it involved two pickups and one drop off location.
