Also I don't know why so many doctors of German extraction feel compelled to lie about their ethnicity, but he is the second doctor of Germanic(/Dutch?) extraction who has told me that his name is Scottish, which is completely laughable. He is obviously therefore very comfortable with lying, and is very vulgar too, underneath the affected air of erudition.

"VERY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF" First off I want to address the staff. If could rate them less than a 1…read moreI would. I had a follow up appointment that Dr Wink had asked me to book. This appointment ended up getting canceled by this office 4 times over the course of 5 weeks. On the fourth cancellation I was frustrated that an appointment that Dr Wink asked for was canceled so many times. I asked to see any Dr that was in on the day of my appointment as was told they are fully booked. I explained that this appointment was changed 4 times and that I felt that I needed to be accommodated. The receptionist then told me to go to a walk in clinic to see a Dr... I was appalled that she would even suggest this option and when I informed this individual that this was not an option she hung up on me? I have been seeing Dr. Wink for 8 years and find he is very helpful and knowledgeable but I need to see a Dr when it convenient for me so I am now searching for a new Dr. Who can accommodate their patients needs.

I've never been able to find a hairstylist that inspires loyalty in me when it comes to getting my…read morehair done and done well. Until now. At Ken-Zee, Edna has become my hair heroine. She has created an atmosphere of comfort and sophistication that makes me come back for more of that great experience. And I've gone back several times now. The first time I walked into Ken-Zee, I was greeted by a cheerful receptionist, asked for my name and then requested to have a seat. I had barely sat down when Edna introduced herself to me. I was shown to a dressing room and given a robe to put over my clothing. My coat was hung up for me. I was asked if I cared for water or coffee then shown to a chair. While I sipped my water, Edna asked me what I wanted to do with my hair. Honestly, I didn't really know. I'd had a pixie cut for six years and had just started growing it out. We discussed cuts that would compliment my facial structure while giving me the best style for getting started on that long hair journey I was dreaming about. Then we talked about colour. I was born with dark auburn hair, but having children had turned it dull and uninspiring. I'd died my hair numerous colours, but I decided it was time to get back to my 'roots', so to speak. We went over a binder full of different colours before I finally settled on a dark auburn colour that brought out my skin tones: at least the sample did. Edna's reassurances that the colour would suit me completely went a long way in comforting my uncertain nerves. When she was rinsing my hair (with a very soothing massaging motion that nearly put me to sleep), I started doubting my choice. But then I saw the results of her labour in the mirror and experienced a rather impish delight; I fit the sassy redhead to a tee. Not only did the colour suit me, it also enhanced my skin tones and eye colour better than I had imagined. Edna goes above and beyond with her customer service by making notes about her clients after hair sessions are completed, so she can continue conversations where she left off the last time she saw you, remember what she did with your hair, and build up a trusting, long-lasting relationship. I was originally recommended to Edna by a friend and I'll be eternally grateful that she did. I now recommend Edna to any of my friends who have the desire to become a fabulous diva while getting the royal treatment by my hair heroine.

I'm bad at describing what I want (or even knowing what I want sometimes), but luckily no matter what Kelly comes up with for cut and colour, it always looks great. She is my mom's regular hairdresser as well, and has also done my grandma, my husband and my daughter. She did my hair for my wedding too (although she was at a different salon at the time). The salon itself is nice, nothing spectacular but the people all seem nice and it's clean and comfortable, so nothing to complain about. Of course I wish it was closer to where I live, but that's just me being selfish :) Parking lot is a little small and is shared with the other businesses in that strip, but there is street parking next to the building as well. Pricing seems average I suppose? I guess it might seem expensive if you were used to going to a Supercuts-type place, but I'm sure it is less than most of the "high-end" salons, and personally I think it is worth it for the results I get.

Mother Earth Essentials - Cedar Balsam candle $18. Smells so good!

Mother Earth Essentials is a store that sells bath and skincare products, as well as candles and…read moreteas. Their products are their own brand, and are made in Canada. They are an indigenous-owned business. I received their Cedar Balsam candle as a gift from my sister-in-law and it smells divine! It's a natural woody scent that makes me feel close to nature. It's made of soy wax, is non-GMO and the wick is made of unbleached cotton. The candle was part of a personally curated gift box that contained my sister-in-law's "Favourite Things." Well, guess what? Mother Earth Essentials' Cedar Balsam candle is now one of MY favourite things too, lol.

I'm constantly looking for new options to reduce the amount of chemicals in my personal care…read moreproducts (soaps, shampoo, creams/lotions, etc.) So this store was a fantastic find! You can drive by & easily miss it. Next time, pull in the parking lot (free parking) and take a look. It's a 100% Aboriginal owned & operated small business using locally sourced ingredients and essence from sacred plants. They have a really unique and important mission statement which sets them apart from other similar businesses. As for their products, I loved pretty much everything in their store. You can view their entire collection online. I particularly love their soaps. They have a wide range that appeals to many people. I love the Wild Mint & Sage. They also sell a line of healing teas, but I looked mostly at the skin products. And all their prices are completely competitive (if not a bit cheaper) than other companies selling similar products. And as far as I could see, they really are 100% natural. Companies like LUSH still use chemicals like Sodium-Laureth-Sulfate which are known to disrupt hormones & possibly cause cancer. Everything I looked at here at Mother Earth Essentials looked completely natural. ...exactly what I was looking for!
