Now unable to walk properly for the fifth time and still paying for most of my healthcare after losing my job in BC when I was having difficulty walking.

Despite being short staffed and it being a holiday, the pharmacy staff went above and beyond to fill my inhaler prescription today, so I didn't have to wait. I didn't realize how bad my breathing had become until I attempted the normally 5 minute walk to the store! One dose and I'm already breathing better. So, thank you. You all deserve a medal and a giant pay raise for the work you do, under increasingly difficult circumstances these days in healthcare.

Let me tell you, I'm kicking myself in the ass for not getting this sooner. I was looking to treat myself, so I got the Honey Tobacco 10oz candle and the roll on fragrance. I love both so much. They're famous for their Honey Tobacco scent which is a mix of a musky male cologne w/ subtle vanilla and I'm in love. I've always loved these two scents, but blended together? I'm in heaven. Since getting these products a few days ago, I've used the roll on fragrance every day and have had plenty of compliments! I also keep the candle burning on my desk while I'm working throughout the day and the scent is potent, but not overpowering, which is perfect. I'm not sure if I could order these every few weeks given the high price tag for such small products, but when I feel the need to treat myself, I'll definitely splurge on these items. The owner has been in the pen selling business for 30 to 40 years and he will tell you that. I heard it at least 2 times. Assume that he will know much much more about pens than you will ever know, no matter how many years you have been collecting pens. It takes some pride swallowing on your part. But if you can toughen your hide and treat this guy like he is God's answer to the perfect pen sales guy then you will have a good experience. He taught me several things that I did not know before. He had a big selection of fountain pens. He spent plenty of time with me. I got a price on an Aurora 88 that was $50 less than the online price (it did not have the box though). but he also threw in a free bottle of ink. I wanted a fine nib and he said it was fine. When I got home it was much thicker than all my other fines so I brought it back. I was sort of expecting a fight as the guy is short and confident with some of his comments. He said that all the Aurora nibs are hand made and there is some variation. He said that he wanted to make sure I was happy with the pen so he found another Aurora that was fine or extra fine (they are not marked) and he swapped nibs. I already had inked and used the first nib so I was surprised he did that. So..... tuck your pride away for 15 minutes and learn a lot and get a great deal. It may also give you a funny story to tell to your friends.

I stated I wanted to try ANY pen and nib combination he had in the store just to see how his Lamy pens released ink, and that sent him on his tangent. I told him I was a beginner and used to felt calligraphy pens. He was adamant that those were not calligraphy pens. After a few attempts of explaining what I was looking for and explaining why I would need to try one of his pens before I bought one, I decided to walk away stating "I'm sorry I'm leaving, I don't like this", to which he said as I was walking out "If you want expert advice you need to listen." All in all a tragically bad experience which could have been a wonderful experience if he was easier to get along with. Very condescending and rude, yet knowledgeable on his products. Sorry, dude.

And then, once I'm there, spend the entire time, battling nerves, trying to pretend I'm fine, am like everyone else, not sweating through my clothes. Trying to act like shots of any kind don't freak me out. Add to that, that my mouth doesn't always seem to respond to the freezing the way it should. So, more often than not, I am not 100% frozen which ends up being quite painful and embarrassing. I recently returned to Victoria and had walked by Dr Pite's office quite frequently while walking my dog. Once I passed when the staff was coming back from lunch. They were laughing and seems happy, like they enjoyed their work and each other. I went home and checked them out on that MD rating site. Really good reviews. A couple days later, I was walking past with my husband and I said, Let's go here. We went in and made an appointment for a cleaning and check up. We filled out questionnaires and although I was a little nervous, it was only a cleaning. I am very good with hygiene and was hoping there would be no need for drilling or shots etc. Two weeks later, around a week before our cleaning, I bit into a wintergreen lifesaver and broke off my tooth! Panic. We called the office, but they are closed on Friday. We left a message on his cell. Keep in mind we were soon to be new patients, had never met him personally. Well, he called back and came in to the office to see me that afternoon, and filed down the sharp bits so I would be comfortable. He was very kind. The next week he was able to prepare my tooth for a crown. And I was very, very impressed. Like crazy impressed. He knew that I'd had bad experiences, he explained everything he was going to do, he jiggled my cheek for the shot and so it barely hurt and put the medicine in slowly so again it wouldn't be as uncomfortable. He checked with cold to make sure it was frozen, because I could still feel he gave me another jiggly shot, this one I almost didn't feel. He didn't start until my tooth was totally, totally numb. He offered me music which was a great idea and I was able to focus on that instead of all the drilling and noise. And it didn't hurt at all. Another first. It was the best dental experience of my life. I am 55 and for the first time, I don't feel afraid to go to my dentist and I'm real glad because he is young and that means I'll probably be dead by the time he retires and so I won't ever have to be scared again. If there was a ten star thing I could click on I would do that. Was the most stress free dentist visit I have ever had.

Dr Pite and the staff were caring and I can't say anything bad about the overall service, but in the end, the success of the procedure is what matters. So I just want to make future patients aware that for this specific type of surgery that is a gum graft, I would recommend to see a periodontist who has more experience with this type of procedure.

I waited, then asked those again. No reply. I asked a third time. No reply. I checked just now. My comments have been DELETED and I've been blocked from commenting further! Any company that actively chooses to silence a person and who then hides that from other customers doesn't deserve supporting. At the very least, they could have switched to private messaging. They didn't do that either. They claim to "put their customers first"? Whether current or potential (and they don't know which I might be or if I was led to them by family members who are (were now) customers), this is clearly untrue. Sadly, it seems the majority of companies have no problem with behaviour like this. They want us to be mindless consumers. We shouldn't be muzzled for making inquiries! This is what they ignored: They're happy with their switch to glass jars BUT can't refill anything in a glass jar. They highly promote their refill program. It's a program they started in 2007. I asked why they couldn't refill glass jars and pointed out that a program started so long ago should be able to accommodate that by now. No response other than to delete that and block me.
