Climb up stairs, climb up to bench, and put feet in dish pan which the nail technician carries over to a sink 10 feet away. I just moved here and needed a new mani polish. I was late for my appointment - when I called to advise she said no problem "just drive & arrive safe" and I thought that was so nice. When I arrived, i was immediately acknowledged, why i was there, COVID protocols (mask, hand sanitizer, and outside bevys) addresses. i was then advised that because I was late and she had other appointments the tech would have to skip a step (massage and moisturizer, I think). This was nice because of it was a deal breaker it wasn't in the middle of the appointment. My tech, Skya, was really nice and personable. She was also beautiful but I felt weird to constantly compliment her so I just told her I liked her lashes She did a great job, too! The place was beautiful and clean. Ahhh...I am a city girl through and through. Victoria is the land of wearing pj pants in public and white people with dreads. I needed a brazilian wax and literally could not find a place walking around downtown(maybe au naturel is big here?). Anyways, I got a recommendation from a girl at American Apparel about Frilly Lilly. YAY! AMAZING PLACE! The inside is soooo girly I felt right at home. They have their own bath line and it smells divine. They use hard wax and it hurts less and I got less red bumps as well(tmi I know). It takes longer than soft wax, but I can get over that. I see Jackie for waxing (underarms and bikini) and she is by far the best I've ever experienced. I had a traumatic waxing experience years ago (think skin ripped off, blood, scabbing for weeks...nasty), but I've started looking a bit sasquaatchy so I've decided to give it another go. Jackie makes you feel totally comfortable even when your bum 'oley is exposed, which is not an easy feat. In a pinch a popped into Frilly Lilly (having knowing about the Vancouver location!) Thankfully they had room for a last min appt! I saw Amanda and let me tell you, that girl knows what she's doing! Took her time to explain their waxing technique and of course used NEW STICKS every time! Which is a make or break for me. Painless, clean, and speedy. Couldn't ask for better. I don't understand you ladies who choose to go somewhere cheaper and risk getting infections, it's beyond disgusting. YUCK. Frilly Lilly is the cutest from the minuet you walk in. I always receive fantastic service and quality and for an awesome value! I was just in Victoria recently for a work conference and really needed to get my nails done. After doing a quick search, I find that Frilly Lilly had a Victoria location. Bonus! Their great reputation crosses over to the island. I had an amazing last-minute manicure, perfect for my evening event. Jackie did my nails, and she was super attentive and personable. My first visit to Frilly Lilly and I felt welcome from the moment I stepped in. Amanda was the one who did my pedicure and she was gracious, friendly and attentive the entire time, it got me over my timidness over getting a pedicure (had a bad experience in Van). The scrub and the massage were super relaxing, everything that was used was single use or sterilized, and I got to keep the nail polish colour (for their own brand! I chose a cute pink). I highly recommend this place! I have been going there through my university studies and they are always prompt, super-clean and organized, and the aestheticians take really good care of you. They have student discounts (another bonus) and they make sure they get things done the way you want it to. I have been to other places in other cities where the service and care does not measure up quite the same. I have been seeing Amanda there for the last while before I moved away and when I flew in for a short visit, she went the extra mile and offered to come in just for me to do something because she knew I was in a pinch. I am born and raised in Vancouver and work in the tourism industry; yet had my first visit to Victoria last week. It was an awesome experience. My friend and I decided to walk to and from the Craigdarroch Castle Museum. We had almost walked 45 minutes there and again back without entering a single store, but then Frilly Lilly caught our eye with its cute and interesting design. Even though it seemed to be mainly a spa and we definitely did not have time for an appointment we thought we'd have a quick look around. We ended up looking through for quite some time and chatting away with the very friendly owners. We even picked out a delectable lip balm or two. I am looking forward to seeing one in Vancouver soon so I can try it out! I can see one doing very well on Robson Street or in Park Royal mall, or be even the Lonsdale area. read more

I would highly recommend going to the Frilly Lilly to receive any type of waxing. I had my first Brazilian Wax today and I am very happy with the entire experience. The rooms are very clean and the store in general has a very inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly and happy to see me. I was made to feel fabulous by Chelsea. Her waxing technique is amazing, which allowed me to feel very little discomfort through my entire Brazilian Wax. Chelsea is professional, friendly and a lot of fun. She answered all of my questions and helped me relax within minutes. As a newbie to the Brazilian Wax I was a little uneasy, but Chelsea really made the world of difference as she is very professional and easy to talk to. I went there to get my nails done yesterday. It was my first time getting my nails done here and after reading the reviews I thought it would be an enjoyable experience. It was the complete opposite. I had requested a gel removal and reapplication service. The gel on my nails was a bit harder to remove than it normally is. So, it took the girl doing my nails a bit longer to get the paint off. She said they used an acetone that's not as strong as the others - so perhaps this is why. It ended up taking her most of our apt to get the polish off.. She then asked if I could come back the next day as she wasn't going to have time to paint them due to her next appointment. I had an event planned that evening - as to why I was getting my nails done. Had I known this was going to happen I would have just went to the event with my old polish. I said I couldn't and so she said she'd see if another staff member could paint them. After she scraped my nails and cut them - she went to find someone. Meanwhile there was still old polish on my nails, and some of them are now shaped differently than others and not nicely filed. She then came back to tell me that the receptionist was trained to do this and that she would be finishing my nails. She also said that the receptionist would need to answer the phone and go to the front so may need to stop at times to do this while doing my nails. At this point I had been here for an hour and had to get home to get ready for my event. I let the receptionist start my nails and finish the base coat. But then someone came to the door so she had to leave. Feeling frustrated and stressed about time i decided to call it a day here and leave. They offered me a small discount but still made me pay for the service. And I was left with nails that looked awful. I have no intentions of ever going back. read more

BEST WAX I HAVE EVER RECIEVED! Getting a Brazilian is never something anybody looks forward to, but Frilly Lilly Victoria makes it more than bearable. The ladies that work there are professional, they are so knowledgable, and always make an honest and genuine effort to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The day after my first Brazilian (in 4+ months) I could hardly tell I had received one the previous evening! It's so awesome and I'm always sharing with friends and family what a positive experience I have every time.
