The Sephora of my dreams! This store has the biggest Topicals selection I've seen in CT. I typically order their products online (check them out for skincare) but I was able to snag so many of my favorites in store. If you're in the beauty realm of the social-verse, then you know Eadem lip glosses have been sold out for weeks- NOT HERE! I was able to snag a bissap glaze and boba bounce and even debated buying them out. The staff was friendly. I appreciated being able to get my birthday gift a little early. I'll start off by saying Sephora usually has very helpful employees and very friendly willing to help or answer any questions. Mohegan Sun sephora is quite different. I went in last night and asked the girl at the register if they had any hairbrushes. She walked me around the corner to a shelf that held 4 brushes and walked away. I walked over to her and asked if she had any round hairbrushes and she said "no, we haven't carried round hair rushes in awhile" I was surprised because the salon told me they had them so I just figured they were out of stock. I proceeded to ask her to look up a previous purchase to find the right color I ordered in the past which she did so but rudely. I went to look for this color and they were out of stock . I asked her if they had more and she just said no without checking on the computer or in the drawers . As I was walking out, another employee said to me "have a good night". Since she was a lot friendlier than the first employee and approachable, I proceeded to ask her if she knew of any other place in the casino I could buy a round hairbrush. She said hang on with a smile and walked towards the back of the store where she came back with a round hairbrush. I was so grateful. I asked if she could hold it for me til close and my husband would pick it up with his momentum points from the casino . She said of course and took his name down. My husband went to pick it up a little bit later, and asked the not so friendly cashier for a brush being held for his name. She said no I don't. He knew I gave the other girl his name so asked once more and she finally looked underneath and pulled out the brush. He didn't have his mohegan card so gave her his license and the mohegan card number which she she said wouldn't work. She did this three times and said I need ur card. We always use the card number so knew she was just being lazy or mad because of the brush situation. He said can I see the tablet and entered it and it went thru the first time. I looked at my receipt after to make sure this order was added to my beauty rewards because I skied him if she took the phone number and he said no. So now I have to email Sephora with a copy of the receipt. These days with inflation, every bit counts. It's a shame that some people can tarnish the reputation of a store where others can bring joy and happiness to a situation and do their jobs. If it weren't for the girl that I spoke to when I was leaving, I wouldn't have gone back in there and would have bought it elsewhere . This cashier needs to either find a different job that doesn't involve working with customers or start treating her job/customers with basic respect . I have had great shopping trips at Sephora at mohegan and not so great . This time was not so great. read more

First of all I love Sephora. This location inside Mohegan Sun is absolutely stunning. Not all chain stores are identical and this one is a cut above the rest. From the outside on the casino floor it just looks pretty and inviting. Stepping inside you're in pure heaven. All the stations are set up perfectly and the lighting is great. What I likes most about this location is that everything they had out as a tester was in stock. My biggest makeup pet peeve is when you try a tester and want to buy the boxed item and they don't have it. Or, when your going in for your usual product and they have the tester but its out of stock behind the sample. Here, that wasn't the case. I liked that the staff wasn't clingy or pushy. When I'm shopping for makeup I like to be left alone, its my therapy time LOL. Also, this store had the Tarte rainforest of the sea cleansing gel I have been searching high and low for. Let me just start by saying that this Sephora was a huge let down for me, and has changed how I feel about the company in general. In my opinion, this store should have been 1000x better than what it was. The store was messy and dirty, very small making it hard to navigate (especially with a stroller), and the employees seemed to have attitudes towards customers as well as "clicks" amongst themselves. Upon walking in I could see a few employees giving me bad looks as I took pictures of the entrance. As I asked an employee a question, the manager came over to help her and looked like she had a bad attitude and did not acknowledge me. That made me not even want to go in. It was obvious from where you enter that the store is very "compact", and for the quantity of people it was just not practical. For someone looking to spend time testing makeup and look around in peace, this is not the place. It was way too hectic and gave me anxiety. All I could think about was leaving. As I strolled around the store I noticed that it was very disorganized and dirty. Every palette and tester had stuff all over it, finger prints and product. Almost every brand had testers and stock missing. The most shocking thing to me was that one of the Too Faced bronze testers had clearly been re-pressed. Who knows what happened to it, but not something I would ever expect to see in any makeup store. My experience was not all negative, there were two female employees working the floor who stopped to talk to me and play with my baby. They were very sweet and genuine, thankfully they are there. The others who ended up asking if I needed help asked reluctantly and with a fake smile. I saw a couple employees talking about the other ones, and tried to play it off when I came around the corner. If I do end up going to another Sephora, it will simply be to review their store. I did not buy anything at this store nor would I consider it. I prefer to go to Ulta where everything is in great shape and there's more space, it's just an all around better shopping environment. read more

Came to get foundation. Madison on the Mohegan Sun store helped me find the product. We entered store at 755pm. Madison repeatedly said "we're closing in 5 minutes". I knew what I wanted. Wasn't planning on staying all night. Certainly wasn't "shopping" because Madison repeatedly said that the store was closing in five minutes. I asked her if they had a hard stop at 8 PM even though customers were in the store and her response was yes! As a business owner, my customers always come first and WE do our best to accommodate them. Very disappointing. Don't bother with this location. It was so busy you couldn't move down the aisles to look at things. No one offered me assistance, which is understandable considering the chaos. Luckily they had the one product I was looking for, but otherwise shelves were cleaned out. Every item that I was interested in impulse buying was sold out. The store was dirty. Went in while I was at the casino to purchase some makeup as I was picking up items I needed I overheard the cashier yelling at a customer stating she didn't have time to answer her questions because she was the only one on and the line was extremely long, four people where behind that particular customer, because they are so shorthanded. She was so rude that I put my items down and and ordered off line when I got home. I realize we are all shorthanded in the last few years but when dealing with the public there is no reason to talk to a customer that way. I will not go back to that store again. read more

I'm assuming this Sephora came a long way since the last review that was left for this location. I don't really gamble much, so I usually walk around Mohegan Sun aimlessly while waiting for the people I'm with to "lose" their money. I decided to stop into this Sephora location looking for some new foundation that would benefit my skin. Because of my bad experiences with the Sephora at the Westfarms mall of specialists judging customers by how they look, I had low expectations for this location. I must've had about five Sephora specialists asked me if I need any assistance in a matter of ten minutes. They were all really friendly when they talked with me. One in particular, Kayla, did a color match for my skin tone and gave me a sample of Clinique foundation. She was really great in answering all my questions about using the foundation with other products, since I only wear makeup during work hours or for other occasions. Thank you Kayla for all your help! Sephora is known to be a bit pricier for their cosmetics, but they have a range of prices to fit anyone's budget. This store is fully stocked of everything that you need from face to nails. This particular location though, is smaller than other locations, so navigating the store can be tricky when there is a lot of people. This one experience restored my faith in Sephora. I just wished I lived closer to this location. Oh well. read more

I am a Sephora VIB Rouge member and I must write a review for the custom makeover I received from Tyla for a wedding I went to over the weekend. Rouge members can schedule free 45 minute custom makeovers and beauty insiders can schedule them if you buy $50 worth of products. I arrived a bit early and was promptly seated. Tyla was super friendly and receptive to my preferences, but ended up creating an amazing look for my event. She walked me through the steps as she was doing the makeup so I even learned a thing or two. Even though I wasn't the one getting married, I really felt like a princess. She told me that the store also has frequent (free) makeup classes including winged liner and smokey eye. The store itself has the standard gigantic selection you expect from a sephora and since it's inside a 24/7 casino, it's open way late. Highly recommend. read more

Great selection as always. I love Sephora and have been a VIB member for a few years. I don't go to this Sephora often but when I do THEY DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE. After my most recent trip I'll never use this Sephora again. I am young, and I did have a large purse with me, and I was definitely followed for the first few minutes. Then I was asked every 1ish minute if I "needed help." By the 5th time I was asked I turned around and said "NO I don't". I didn't have anything particular in mind - I just wanted to look at products and test things out to find some new items to get - the benefit of shopping in store instead of online. Every time I went to my favorite brands, like Dior and Becca, which are in the back of the store... an employee would just linger right next to me and AGAIN ask me if I needed help. I ended up checking out at about $70 without even trying out other things because I was getting SO frustrated with being bothered every minute and trailed around the store. I asked my friends and they say they've had similar experience - but when I asked my mom and older ladies at work, they said this has never happened in there! I'm a super loyal customer, so being treated like a shoplifter and continuously being asked about "needing help" after I say no is really irritating. I never loose my patience and I was actually getting upset while shopping! I'll NEVER go here again. read more

This location is very hit-or-miss. Sometimes they have great employees that are super-helpful and attentive. Other times they have employees that couldn't care less. The managers and cashiers are usually great. Disappointed that on my last visit I was wandering around the store looking for a few products and no one offered to help. Worse, I finally asked someone a question, and she answered it curtly, turned around, and proceeded to do nothing. Literally, just standing there not talking to me. I'm leaving my review at 3 stars because of prior good service and the hope that my last visit was a fluke. As far as products, this is a large location. Pricey as hell. $26 for a lipstick seems crazy to me. I guess I'm not that vain and or rich. I suppose all the "free" sample giveaways need to paid for somehow. Staff is super nice though. I am a VIB Rouge. The highest level and spend a lot at Sephora. I have been shopping with them for over 25 years when the only stores were in NYC and San Francisco. I have never had such a sad experience. I went in to treat myself for my birthday. At check out the girl was annoyed that I wanted to use my thousands of points on the samples, she acted like I was annoying her. And this was after an off duty employee cut in front of me. They were all very excited about New year's Eve. I was too, but the experience was disappointing. They were also a promo and I was supposed to get 20% off certain items, once I realized it, I decided to just eat the cost to avoid having to deal with the staff. My friend and I had received a Personal Beauty Consultation with Shannon Thurber at this location after we had an extremely unpleasant experience with Dawn at the Sephora in Greenwich. This encounter couldn't have been more different. Immediately upon entering the store, we were greeted by friendly associates and led to the area where we would have our consultations. Shannon Thurber was extremely personable, welcoming, knowledgeable and skillful. She did a great job explaining different eyeshadow and contouring techniques to us and we were both very happy with the results of our make up applications. Shannon also provided helpful advice on products and answers to questions we had about makeup techniques as well as hair care concerns. I always get great customer service here, and the staff is really nice. My husband and I went for a visit recently and I got a great look from Sabine, who helped me try on a new concealer. This is one of my favorite Sephora locations, and it doesn't hurt that it's located next to a Lush! Expensive yes, but they don't make the prices, so as long as you try things on and get samples you can come away with a great look and truly get what you pay for. read more

I had a very nice experience at this full size and service Sephora located in the casino shopping mall. The make up artist, Mihi, was easy and likable. She listened to what my concerns were, asked if I wanted to stick to my favorite brand or wanted something else. I use Laura Mercier but her regular under concealer doesn't cut it on the days I have excessive darkness due to lack of sleep and stress. Mihi took the time to help me pick out the correct shade of concealer and taught me a new technique with foundation power. She gave me time too look at myself and asked how I felt about my new look and if I was happy. Over all a very good experience with not a drop of pretension that I could feel and I'm a guy that wears 50 dollar concealer, lol.... read more

Is tough to find anyone to help locate items. I caught employees talking to each other, having to interrupt them. They do not give products to try when they said they will at checkout. The store has little space to manuever around, though is good that is quiet. Customers are judged at their outward appearence. The people who adorn themselves with fancy stuff or possibly be fake decorated stuff get special treatment and in the end no items purchased. Y'all should read the article of this car dealership customer dressing in casual clothes, looked at cars, car dealership employee worked there for years, ignored the customer, new worker helped the customer and many cars were bought much to the surprise of the car dealership. Never judge and follow accordingly to what you say you will do for the customer and the business. I will just give my business to the city sephora raising their profit margin. read more

Came into this shop on a somewhat busy evening to look for make up with a gift card I had. I was looking around at some of the cheaper things with a group of my friends when one of the employees came over and made a very sarcastic remark to us about how we should put the items back the way we found it.. so from there my friends and I fixed everything that was barely messed up and walked away to pay when then we turned around to see the employee eyeballing us to make sure we weren't doing anything and then talking about us to another employee ,and rolling her eyes. Now don't get me wrong when a bunch of teenagers walk into a store your most likely going to make sure they aren't doing anything bad but we picked up a couple of things and decided we didn't want them and didn't put them back neat enough that's not something to get annoyed about.
