On my way there I did notice that there were a lot of staff on hand so if you need recommendations, it seems like they're well staffed and equipped to answer your questions. I was trying really hard not to spend any more money here but alas, all the cute and tiny samplers in the checkout line wore me down. I wound up picking up a set of press on nails from Glamnetic. I have tried the stick on ones that you can file away to fit your nail shape but these ones are kind of like acrylic ones that hold shape. The box says it comes with 30 nails so fingers crossed, I'll be able to find ones that fit me. Excited to try these out! They had a few birthday gift choices that were displayed in a case at checkout. The cashier let me know they were out of stock of one of them. There was a perfume set, a hair set from Ouai, and a skin care set from Glow Recipe. I chose the latter which came with a pore toner and what I think is a serum - I can't really tell lol. They were also out of small bags that day so I had to carry out my purchase but I did have my receipt emailed to me so no biggie.

However, I encountered a slight inconvenience as they did not display all of the prices, which meant that I had to keep asking for clarification. They are very friendly. I hope that it did not cause any annoyance to the staff. Anyway, I am looking forward to trying out the products. Also, they offer services such as body sugaring and skin care treatment. If I lived closer, I would definitely be delighted to try them out.

Really and truly one of the worst experiences I have ever had at ANY establishment…read more I can assign the one star rating to cleanliness. That's where it ends at Raw Beauty Bar. The manicurist's behavior was appalling and the overall manicure sub-par (see photos below for the hack job on my cuticles and the overall streaky and messy colour). Will have to visit either of my two tried-and-true nail salons in the east end to fix this one. I usually write more detailed reviews. This was my third attempt at it. I'm beyond angry about this experience and nothing I wrote seemed appropriate, so there you have it.

After I posted my review (you can see my previous review below) the owner of the salon emailed me directly. Not only did she apologize, but she explained things (why they've been short staffed, why it's been hard to get in touch, etc), without trying to excuse them and then she laid out her plan of solutions. It really was the definition of how to win back a customer. I went back today and couldn't have had a better experience. Big props to the young woman running this bustling business- a one-woman show- with integrity and respect. I booked my appointment online, which was very quick and easy. The staff were all friendly and incredibly attentive. All my previous issues seem to be a distant memory. I will definitely be going back. My previous review: Cute interior, good location, but poor customer service and a lack of communication between the employees. I've been a few times, hoping once I got into their grove, things would improve. I can't even count the number of unreturned voicemails I've left. Literally a week will go by and my voicemail (during business hours because the phone goes unanswered regularly) will never be returned. I haven't found any of the staff particularly friendly. There's a candy bar at the front and a coffee machine but I've never seen anyone be offered a drink. The nail services themselves are good. I think it would be fun for a bachelorette party or a group of girls since you could take over and make it what you want.

I ALWAYS drop by Sally's Beauty Supply to get my hair dye…read more Every time I visit this location it's always empty for some reason...which is weird. The employee who was working there this afternoon was very helpful. He helped my sister pick out rollers and he gave me tips on how to improve my hair dying technique. The products they sell here are affordable and if you purchase their membership card ($5), you can save 10-15% on your purchases. If you're looking to find the typical brand name beauty or hair product, you won't be able to find them here. I'm not sure why but they sell brands that I have never heard of before.

Thanks to Sara KP and Yelp, I was recently made aware that Sally's is here in Ontario!!! Woooot!!!…read more(When I lived in BC I would have to go across the border to get my Sally goods.) I went in the other day to pick up some hair and nail stuff. I was surprised at how small the store was, having only been exposed to the chain in the states. The guy working there- can't remember his name - was fabulous and helped me pick out some stuff that did the trick even though they didn't carry what I'd originally come in for. All in all I am super excited that Sally's is here and even though they don't have everything that they do down south, it works!
