While the Walgreens webside is "challenging" due to programming issues and the company has "supply issues", my brain abilities find it a game to help me with my needs. But, it is well worth playing this game between the weekly sales, store/mfg coupons, statewide % disc for certain $ amts purchased, and rewards $$ earned, I do quite well. The supply issue was part of the game today because several stores were short on at least one item; the program does the update in the recalculaation by store, not me, fortunately. Well, to close out this week's marathon, the Walgreen's store on Gunn and Anderson had all of my items and reported it "ready for pick-up" in under 10 minutes. I drove right out so I would miss today's anticipated storms and was greated by one of the most personable, professional staff I have met yet. They greeted me with smiles, welcoming comments, pulled the full card out for me, thanked me....all with those smiles!! I waved and told them they got the award for A1 service. Apparently, I should have known better. I wore the necklace a total of 3 times, and the chain broke awake from the clasp. Luckily, I didn't lose anything (the cross etc) so I've been holding onto it to take it back. At the same time, I also purchased a necklace for my son...and surprisingly, his clasp apparently was causing him issues and unfortunately he ended up losing his. I went to JCPenney today with my original receipt and originall box. They wouldn't do anything for me. No exchange, no return and no offer to fix because I didn't purchase their protection plan. I was also told it's the same with their clothing, if it's not returned in condition they can sell, they won't return it (imagine if you bought something and the button or zipper broke, nope can't return it) I know...you get what you pay for...luckily I do LOVE the cross so I will go to a more reputable place now for a necklace...I will likely never shop at JCPenney again though. Had it been a fault of my own, I'd take ownership and suck it up, but it wasn't...and neither was my sons.. I went this past Friday afternoon to take advantage of the convenient Sephora now located inside the store to return some items I had purchased from a free-standing Sephora. I love that JC Penny is trying this approach to increase business and appeal to a wider audience. After returning my unwanted goods, I wandered to the watch section. I was looking for a watch for my niece, and saw one behind a locked rotating tray that I thought she might like. An employee came over to help me, and then said "Just a minute, let me go get the key". She walked over to the counter next to us, where a sales associate was also helping a customer. My sales associate proceeded to join in on THEIR conversation for about 5 minutes, until the other customer left. Both sales associates then left the watch/jewelry counters and went directly into the back of the jewelry department, behind a closed door. After another few minutes with nobody re-appearing, I left. Seriously, JC Penney? With customer service like that, it's going to take more than a Sephora to bring me back.

In product now to have your makeup done) before a special event that night. I arrived to my appointment and waited for someone to show up. There was no one in the MAC store (it is inside Dillards). Then a lady came over from another makeup counter and told me the MAC girl had called out that day and there was NO ONE working at MAC that day at all but she would try to help me. I said okay b/c at this point I had no time to do anything else. I told her I was mainly interested in getting lashes done and she said that she could not do lashes but someone from another counter would be able to come and do them, no problem. So she did my foundation/powder and called the person over to do the lashes and they said they could not do them and there was NO ONE in the store (Dillards) that was 'certified' to do them. This was on a Saturday!Needless to say I was very upset and in tears, out of time and left with unfinished makeup. When I got home, I was covered in some kind of glittery makeup. I am far from a teenager so had to wipe all that crap off. The lady who tried to help me was a nice lady but obviously not a makeup artist. If only MAC OR someone in the store had taken a moment that morning to text or call me (they had my phone number in the schedule book), I could have made other arrangements and not wasted my entire afternoon on this disaster that was absolutely unacceptable. A simple phone call would have been appreciated and would have saved a lot of time, stress and anxiety. I ended up missing my function that night due to this lack of simple common courtesy. Very disappointed.

But when there is a special event, it gives me an excuse to visit the counter and have my makeup professionally applied. Typically I leave the counter in complete awe of the transformation. This time, not so much. I had to instruct the artist to go a little bit heavy on my eyes. The work he initially did, wasn't too different from my own skills. But that was an outlier, because I always leave the counter happy. If you are planning on spending $50 on product, do yourself a favor and make an appointment to have your makeup professionally applied. It's free with your $50 purchase.
