This is a wonderful dentist office and staff! I will continue with my visits. Thank you very much…read morefor you're kindness.

I had called this practice as it was listed on my insurance as a covered provider. My insurance…read morealso had listed the usual preventive services I receive (exam, X-rays, and cleaning) all as covered services after a $50 deductible. When I called the receptionist informed me their practice did not schedule the cleaning on the same day as the exam, rather, they scheduled an exam and X-rays initially, then a second appointment for routine cleaning. As all of those services were listed as covered, I scheduled them. The first visit I received X-rays of all of my teeth, which was performed by I believe a new person, as it wasn't the most hygienic experience. I did end up having a sore throat the next day which I wondered if it had something to do with that equipment gouging my mouth-it was short lived so I did not worry. After the X-rays I met with the dentist Vanman who was thorough and friendly. He let me know the only thing he saw was where I burned the roof of my mouth eating pizza the day prior, and that one of my old military fillings was going to need a cap. I never had any pain or problems with my teeth, so decided to wait to schedule an appointment for the cap until after my upcoming trip. As I was leaving, the hygeinist was at the desk and said to me that at my next upcoming visit she would be doing a deep cleaning because I had some inflammation that the dentist had added to his notes. I didn't think too much about it and planned to show up for the cleaning appointment. Before my next visit I received notice from my insurance company that they did not pay for the 'comprehensive exam' or the 'comprehensive X-rays' the practice coded and billed for, though both exams and X-rays are covered services on my preventive and routine care at 100% after my $50 deductible? I contacted my insurance who advised me to contact the practice about their billing. I decided to also check to see what a 'deep cleaning' involved, as I had never been told I needed that in the past. Apparently it involved injections and potentially painful gums as they cleaned vs. the routine above the gum cleaning. The dentist had not mentioned this was something I needed, and I had never been told I needed that before, but the hygienist said at my first visit I would. I decided to call them and let them know I was only interested in the routine cleaning that my insurance covered, which they said ok on the phone. I showed up for my routine cleaning appointment I had scheduled and reminded the receptionist I was only interested in the routine cleaning I had scheduled-she said I 'would need to discuss that with the hygienist'-I was starting to feel like I was in a used car lot getting swindled. After waiting 20 min the hygeinist took me back and said she needed to measure my gums before the cleaning-I said ok but I just want the routine above the gum cleaning today. She said she would not do a routine cleaning if she said a deep cleaning was needed. I did not want another surprise bill or injection pain before my trip-and I have had no pain or issues with my mouth or gums? So it didn't make sense why she would refuse my insurance covered routine cleaning. She then took me to the receptionist who said my insurance did not cover my previous visit, and that if the hygienist was only willing to do a deep cleaning my insurance would not pay that either-& I would owe another $199. I said so I will have to pay your office another $199 ($482 total) and get the deep cleaning if she says? She said yes, though this deep cleaning had never been recommended before. I told them I would see my previous out of state dentist instead (who charges half of what they wanted to bill/upcharge/code for & no unnecessary injections!) & to take me off their patient roster. I have NO complaint with my teeth whatsoever, & even receive compliments on them! Buyer beware.
