I am not a fan of such business practices and do not recommend this dentist. A patient should always have the choice to either consent or decline service in these situations.

She was very stressed about how the whole experience would be as most of her friends had those removed and their experiences were not great. She came in super anxious to the office the morning of the appointment. The staff that initated setting her up and preparing her for the surgery were amazing. They explained everything to her and calmed her down. They were super caring and knowledgeable. Surgery lasted less than an hour and everything went super smoothly. We were worried about bleeding, pain and bruises that typically comes up after surgery. None of this happened. Sincerely we were so surprised that her experience was completely opposite of most of her friends. Dr. Alicea checked on her after surgery. We couldnt believe she was so good after the teeth removal. Dr. Alicea and all the staff recommended 1000%. Thanks for the caring approach!

Everyone greets you with a smile and takes the time to make you feel comfortable. The hygienist was extremely gentle and thorough. She walked me through everything she was doing, gave helpful feedback on my at-home care, and even demonstrated proper flossing technique using a model, which I really appreciated. It didn't feel rushed or impersonal at all. What I liked most is that there was absolutely no pressure. They clearly explained everything, showed me pictures, and were very respectful of my pace. When discussing future work, they said we could go over it at my next visit so I wouldn't feel overwhelmed--that meant a lot. Overall, the team is professional, kind, and genuinely caring. I'd gladly drive the extra distance to keep coming here. Highly recommend.

Beware-Beware-Beware. I went to this office because it is in the Delta Network and specifically…read moreconfirmed upon arrival. I set a consultation appointment for a tooth removal and implant. I was in some pain (5 out of 10) They said they could perform the work right away and sent in an attractive young lady who told me my portion would be $1415.10. I was thinking "I thought I had excellent insurance thru Delta, but maybe I was wrong" She kept pushing "pay the amount and you will be all set, your pain will be gone and the work will be complete" I felt like I was at a used car dealership, I'm in sales and recognized the sales techniques. Against my better judgement I had the work performed. The assistant Michael was very polite and caring, the dentist was nice, it was a tough extraction but she did it successfully. The next day, after the fog wore off I checked with Delta Dental Insurance and discovered MY INSURANCE WOULD COVER 80-90% OF THIS SERVICE.!!!! Also, the Delta Rep told me the maximum reasonable and customary allowance was around $770.00. THEY CHARGED ME DOUBLE.!!!! (They did give me a small discount $141.00) which I appreciated. How can a business do this to a customer???? How can they sleep at night treating people this way????? My primary dentist I go to in Riverview is SO awesome and ethical. She charges the required amount and does not over-sell you on anything. Maybe I got spoiled. Please beware. I not necessarily recommending you avoid this office, just be knowledgeable on your rights and what your insurance covers. Don't become a victim. 0-STARS- We have been patients at Friendly Smiles Dental Office for quite some time, which makes…read morethis experience even more disappointing. My 80-year-old father recently visited the office seeking a straightforward and affordable treatment plan. He currently has an upper denture and a lower partial with two remaining attachment teeth that need extraction. The goal was to create a new upper denture and a new lower implant-supported denture, with two implants intended to support and stabilize the new lower denture. We fully understood that he would require bone grafting beforehand due to significant bone loss. My father does not have dental insurance and trusted the office to provide an honest and appropriate treatment plan. Instead, he was presented with a proposal totaling nearly $26,000. As his daughter, and someone with extensive dental knowledge, I was honestly baffled after reviewing the treatment plan and panoramic X-rays. One of the most concerning issues was the use of dental code D7210, which is intended for the surgical removal of an erupted tooth requiring bone removal, tooth sectioning, or flap elevation. The office proposed using this code for the extraction of my father's two lower teeth and charged $419 per extraction under this surgical code. However, the panoramic X-ray and treatment plan clearly indicate that my father already has severe bone loss and requires bone grafting to preserve what little bone remains for future implant support. In this situation, using a surgical extraction code involving bone removal seems completely inappropriate when a simple extraction code could have been used instead. It felt less like patient-centered care and more like an attempt to maximize billing at the expense of an elderly patient who trusted their guidance. Sadly, this experience reinforced the growing concern many people have about large dental chains prioritizing production and overhead costs over honest, ethical treatment planning. I can only say that I am extremely disappointed in the handling of this case and in Dr. Smiley Jr. specifically. My father deserved transparency, compassion, a realistic treatment plan, and to be presented with alternative treatment options that could have better fit his age, condition, and financial situation not what felt like an excessive and unnecessary financial burden.
