Also the front office staff is amazing when dealing with the VA payment and authorization system. That place causes more patient injury then help. But Oakfield Dental deals with them and only involves me when I need to become Karen on the VA. Which is the only way to make the VA pay up or authorize something. An appointment was scheduled for the afternoon which I did not expect. Staff went out of their way to schedule a same day appointment. My wait time was less than five minutes. Dr. Atkinson is the friendliest, most talented, and compassionate dentist in the world! He knew immediately that the problem involved my crown which he quickly repaired. Within the same appointment, he found time to apply bonding material to three teeth that were affected by gum erosion. The process was meticulously described and completed perfectly. My smile is restored! Both procedures were pain free. Brandon Mall Dental support staff is terrific. I was greeted by smiling Gabriela at the front desk. She is incredibly friendly and organized. What a great personality! I immediately felt at home. Gabriela quickly researched the cost for the bonding treatment (very reasonable) and asked if the cost was acceptable. Dental Assistant Carlos is fantastic, a true professional He assisted expertly during both procedures. Carlos is well versed and made me feel at ease as he and Dr. Atkinson worked well as a team, anticipating each other's next move. Upon leaving, I was extremely happy with both procedures, no more pain and my smile restored (at minimal expense). Total time in the office was less than forty-five minutes. They then refereed me to a place that refused to use the exams from the first office and wanted to charge me $1000 to pull 1 tooth, just 1, thats insane. So after arriving home and calling a few other places, whom all would gladly except the exams from the first office, i decided to go with Aspen, hey they offered a full free exam for new patients and were capable of getting me in within a couple hours of after making the call. After arriving, I signed in, filled out the normal insane amounts of paperwork for the 3rd time that day. After I sat down, i was called in like 30 seconds later, I JUST SAT DOWN. My teeth aren't all to great, due to a lack of brushing as a kid, so one look at my mouth and i saw dollar signs above the dentists head lol. He informed me about the tooth i needed extracted and and that my fillings all needed to be replaced, i knew that, but I am currently unemployed and don't have the money to do such a procedure, but when i get a job and money, i will go back. So they set me an appointment for the next day to get the tooth extracted. Next day, i get there, sign in and got called back in less than 5 minutes, the dentist made sure i was numbed pretty well and went to ripping out the decaying tooth, they did offered to write a prescription for pain, but eh, who needs it when I think everyone has Tylenol or aspiring of some kind at home, so i skipped that, now watch i will regret not getting the pain meds from him after the numbness wears off lol. If I have to cancel, I am then expected to wait months for a new appointment without any consideration on their part that the cancellation was their fault. It is very disrespectful of them to play with patients time and make us wait months to reschedule. This is the case for various patients as I have seen it happen to other people in the waiting room with me. People usually take time off work for these appointment, I do, and it's extremely inconsiderate of them to take us in over an hour later OR in the worst case, more than an hour after to the point that we have to cancel due to their non compliance of time. This has happened to me multiple times which is why I decided to complain.

Beware if you're referred here I highly recommend calling your community care coordinator and switching. I have reported them to mine. they also took the initial consultation appointment knowing they couldn't complete the higher level care I required in the referral. so they completed an entire exam and x-rays unnecessarily while knowing at the outset of the appointment they could not complete the procedure I've reported that to the VA as well.
