I went to the beauty studio for a ummmm "makeover" for pics... However I was made under. It was lackluster, less than enthralling and I looked unappealing. For my wasted hour I was there I could have done the job myself. I really was looking for a wow effect and maybe set my standards too high on the job they could have produced. Worse branch of Sephora that I have ever visited. There was no greeting when I entered the store and in fact, it seemed as if the employees were annoyed I was even there. It was hard to find assistance from a store associate and when I did, they were lazy and gave attitudes. The experience didn't end there because the cashier had to bring it to a home run for the lazy base by not even entering a coupon code when I gave her a phone and requested a barcode. If it weren't for the fact that I didn't want to enter Manhattan and waste a subway ride, I would've left the store and order online. read more

I really like this location. Unlike other Sephora locations, the employees don't stalk you and the guards don't follow you around as if you're a thief. My 2 issues: -The set up. It's hard to navigate. They need to make it easier to walk through the store. -The perfume section is in some weird order that's not quite alphabetical, making it hard to find things on your own. read more

These bitches in here (excuse my language) are something else! So as I'm walking around getting ready to purchase something I ask for a sample of Sunday Riley with other samples in my hand. The worker who I had to flag down for it after handing it to me tells me they have a maximum 3 samples. I was confused and nodded my head bc I thought she was referring to some kind of shortage on the Sunday Riley oil. But then I thought about what she said and realized just about every Sephora in the city has no problem giving out whatever you ask for. I never heard of this policy and I really believe this store with their shitty service and so called "policy" they trying to enforce are only doing this bc it's a different demographic. Oh em gee! So I decided to go in today for a face. I was thinking something light and cute. I was paired with a MUA named "Jake". Total sweetheart! Very knowledgeable! He even put me on to some new products! He made me feel comfortable and open to trying new things. Needless to say my face is beat ok! And it's not harsh and heavy. This is the most convenient location in Brooklyn, trains are easily accessible. However, customer service is below-par. You find yourself walking around the whole location multiple time before finding someone to help you. If you do find someone they're too busy filling products to help you and will give you a quick answer. I usually know what I am going in there for so this doesn't bother me everytime I go there but maybe management should organize their staff better. For example, there's always staff sitting around the makeover counters avoiding eye contact with you, when you clearly look like you need help and are aimlessly looking for some assistance. whats the deal with that? read more

Hate this Sephora. Never did I ever experience such bad customer service. I entered the store at around 10 on a Tuesday morning. There were maybe only 5-7 customers in the store, but was not even looked at by the sales associates. I was looking for a nude lipstick but wasn't sure on what kind to get. I tried to look for help but everyone seemed "too busy" and no one ever looked my way, went up to a lady who was helping another customer on the makeup vanity. But as I stood there to wait for her to finish with the customer, she walked right passed me and completely ignored me. It was very obvious that I was waiting to speak to her. I didn't stress it and decided to continue looking around for a lipstick on my own. Never found one, so I just left. Was very disappointed. Will never go there again. read more

Definitely the worst sephora I've ever been to. While it is large and has a good selection the negatives far out way the positives. No matter what day go you end up waiting over 20 minutes in line to pay... ummm maybe it's time to get a few more registers guys?? Or at least have people with those portable "registers" that let people paying with credit cards pay. It's so infuriating i shouldn't have to beg you to let me buy your products.Also the workers here are NOT friendly and have absolutely no interest in helping you pick a shade, recommend products or anything you would expect an employee in a cosmetics store to do. Today I had to stalk an employee down just to ask which shade of concealer I should get... and she seemed completely annoyed the entire time and was sarcastic and demeaning. My friend and I were racially profiled at this Sephora. I was disappointed because I was very excited to see a Sephora in my home town. The plan was for me and my girl to get our make up done at Sephora before we go to her lovely Christmas Party. That was the plan to get a color match, a smoky eye, buy some make up and a fragrance and start the night right. Well when we got into the store the make up artists,who I would be remiss not to mention was also a women of color, refused to do our make up because she was closing. However, when a young European women came in, she had time to give her a make over. So before going to the gym I walked passed this store and then decided I had to to go in and couldn't wait until after my workout. I avoided coming to this store because it's definitely one of places you can get lost in. It's a woman's playground lol. The store is smaller than the stores I'm used to but they had everything I was looking for. Prices are comparable to other Sephora stores. Most employees at this location are horrible! One guy rolled his eyes and had an attitude with me the entire time he was checking me out but was so nice and friendly to the lady in front of me. Another time I went in to go return the Clinique Id I had gotten cause the pump was broken and was overall not worth the money and the worker kept trying to get me to get another one instead of returning after I told her no the first time. NO MEANS NO! I don't care if you have to have a certain amount of sales if a customer told you no the first time don't try and convince them otherwise it is annoying and what will turn people away from being returning customers. I highly recommend the Atlantic mall location since the employees take the first no and are much nicer. read more

After I obtained fragrance samples from a salesperson, my husband asked her to direct him to a particular fragrance. She told us to wait and turned her attention to another customer, with whom she had a fairly lengthy interaction. When she turned back to us, admittedly I was slightly annoyed. I asked why would she turn away from us, customers who were interested in making a purchase, to help someone else. She immediately became irate and confrontational. She yelled that the customer was a client and that she helped her before. I said that we were right there and deserved her undivided attention. She replied that there were other customers in the store, that I was acting entitled, and that I needed to wait my turn. When I told her I didn't like her attitude she replied "I don't like your f***ing attitude, either." Unbelievable. Had no idea it was cool to talk to customers like that, but I guess that's how Sephora rolls. read more

As other reviews have mentioned, the staff and LP at this store profile certain customers. It won't matter if you're a Rouge member or if you're purchasing $XXX in cosmetics. From the week this location opened through today, I've had five purchases not included in my Beauty Insider account, have never been given a sample with purchases, have been followed around by staff/security countless times while browsing skincare and received attitude for simple questions . No amount of courtesy, smiles, or manners will sway some staff members from treating certain customers like potential thieves or ingrates. This location needs a top to bottom diversity training. read more

Nothing like walking into a Sephora in New York and you soon realize the Sephora back home lacks so many things in comparison. There were brands at this store I have not even heard of before such as Hourglass. The fragrance department located way in the back is massive with a very helpful associate, he introduced me to the new innovation of fragrance selection via a touch screen. I just wish they have more associates in the make-up and skin care area, but I was able to find what I was looking for. Will come back for sure. read more

I've been to a few Sephora's in the past, but felt this location, especially, the sales team was very pretentious and only wanted to help customers who looked a certain way (i.e. well dressed with a look of "money to spend"). Unfortunately, I was wearing exercise gear and was largely ignored. I even recalled seeing a sales person joking with a customer (they must've been friends because their conversation was irrelevant to any product the customer was holding) and blocking the line, and I kept asking "Are you in line?" but was ignored by both women. Then, when I got up to the register, the cashier told me I was not allowed to utilize two gift cards on one purchase, so I had to separate my purchases into two transactions. For my second transaction, she failed to log it onto my Beauty Insider point, and I needed this purchase to upgrade to VIB status. She also didn't offer me any redemption on my points, and had a very flat affect toward my presence. Overall: I'm glad there's a location in Brooklyn, but I'd much rather shop online to avoid the pompous attitude here. read more

God forbid you interrupt the employee conversations to ask where a section is, or if you're running around like a maniac don't expect to be asked if you need help here. They barely restock the shelves and yell at you for going to check the drawers yourself. I stick to union square or soho. A really nice Sephora worker by the name of Cassie assisted me. She answered all of my questions in detail, gave me samples to take home before making a big purchase, she explained the difference in various products and was nice and had a lot of patience. I appreciate great customer service and I appreciate when I don't know much about something and the person assisting me doesn't make me feel less than for it! I never have issues at other Sephora. If someone can't help, then they page another employee to help. This Sephora, on the other hand, employs some of the rudest and most unprofessional employees I have encountered. Now, is there one or two individuals who follow standards? Perhaps, but overall I and my coworkers never received good service at this location. I think that corporate needs to go undercover and see what nasty service people get here. I came with a coworker and asked a question about a foundation, and we were rudly told that she can't help us because she is busy. She actually sort of flipped out on us. All she had to do is say "I'm busy, please wait I'll call someone over" or "I'm busy, please wait" or "I'm busy, please find another employee". I'm not sure if her response was worse than no reponse, because you can never find any assistance at this location at all. As I was standing in line, an employee was talking about a costumer. I mean what kind of employees do that? I noticed there is some favoritism in this location as well. Very very unprofessional service if any at all. Very good selection of hard to find beauty brands in Brooklyn (Armani, MJ, Laura Mercier, YSL, Bobbi Brown, NARS etc...) no more schlepping to the one in meatpacking! Also Starbucks across the street makes for a good girlie girl weekend outing! Only caveat... It's such a pretty store and some of makeup artists look a little rough... Your store has a woman by the name of Shayla that is a rep for Nars and she has a horrible spirit and is extremely SELECTIVE to the customers that she'll tend to.I've experienced service neglect from her on two occasions and this time a sweet manager on duty at 3:30pm with dk reddish auburn hair asked her to assist me and she purposely.. Overextended her cust. Srvc to her current client and left me waiting for over 20 minutes.Her client even acknowledged that I had been waiting for a long time. I then proceeded to look for the manager that advised her to assist me and I told the manager that I STILL had not been assisted as she requested and the manager herself sought assistance for me.Shayla's partner ( a tall male) with glasses also a #Nars rep asked me if I was being helped. I replied: " Thank You for asking!" "At least someone.. asked?!" Then.. Shayla decides to say "Oh.. I was just putting some things away" Corporate pls note: I had fitness gear on but I'm classy. So to be treated horribly by the same person twice is very telling about the individual. She has poor customer service and should treat ALL.. walks of life that come into your bklyn location or wherever she is representing Sephora and Nars, with a 1,000% helpful customer experience. Her attitude is bad for the makeup industry. Please resend your team member back thru a salesmanship course to revisit exceptional sales etiquette. I had such a wonderful experience with Ace at Sephora. She gave me an express makeover but more importantly, improved my outlook. Ace was professional and warm, experienced and funny too. I felt completely confident in her ability- she whisked the brush over my eyelids with authority, recommended an incredible mascara, and helped me find great products throughout the store. It was like have a friend and personal shopper at the same time. I cannot wait to go back and work with her. At the cash register, Maddie was fantastic. She was so kind (i had puffy eyes from crying earlier) and politely asked if I was all right and then laughed with me a bit after finding some fun samples. A lovely girl! Merci Sephora. read more
