I purchased 2 gift cards for $100.00 each as Christmas gifts, when my niece tried to use it she was told it had already been used. The store told her to call the # on the back of the card, who told us to go to the store, the store told us to call 1 800 Sephora,(classic run around) who told us, tough luck, its the same as cash, file a police report and try to get you $ back from your credit card company.... Horrible Customer service, they knew that criminals were, scratching off pin #s, taking pics of the card and waiting for them to be activated, they knew this and didn't check the card to see if the pin was already scratched, they have since moved the gift cards behind the register, but, told us too bad, the rules are on the back of the card. Really horrible customer service. Carrie the Lead was as helpful as she could be, but told me its corporate policy and there is NOTHING they can do.... Corporate Greed over Customer Service.... I seriously have never been treated with so much rudeness in the years I have shopped at sephora. I literally spend thousands a year here. It's my favorite store. I love most of the staff, but today two employees including the manager named Marissa and Michelle refused to return a set that I purchased barely a week ago! They said I used over 50 percent of one of the products. Like ummm hello? How? I literally just got it. I purchased the set considering it had a product I wanted to try I knew I loved the other stuff. So I tried the product for a couple days. Let me begin by saying the product wasn't filled to the top. It was a mask and like a mask you need a considerable amount for your face. 3 times I used it! Decided it wasn't for me and with that 70 dollars I would just get the full sized oil and face wash. It was a fresh set. They were rude about the return and refused it. I have never been refused a return EVER! It's not like the money wasn't going back to Sephora. I literally spent 300 dollars with that purchase and was about to spend more after my return, but considering their rudeness I left. I will be calling sephora corporate because my jar was not filled to the top and 3 times of use cannot be considered half used. I want my money back! read more

This has to be the worst Sephora I've ever been to and I've been to quite a few. At least I was greeted at the one up in Dublin, which i reviewed years ago. I shopped at the one in the valley plaza on 8/05/16. I had to brace myself because it was a Friday & this Sephora has been known to give crappy customer service. This isn't my first visit here. When I walked in, I literally walked in between 2 sales associates to grab a basket because I knew I had quite a few things to pick up. No hi, no greeting...just silence. As I was searching for the foundation shades I needed, I could hear the sales associate greeting others that walked in. I walked by that same sales associate again and still nothing. I was in the store for a good 30 minutes. The whole time I not once got a greeting nor was I asked if I needed help with anything by any of the sales people. I spent a good chunk of money too because I needed products for a client the next day. I usually order online because I like to avoid the crowd & the crappy service. Plus you get better samples. As I had one foot out of the store, that sales associate with the blonde and blue hair finally said have a nice day. Too late.. Ha! Oh joy, I have to go back into this horrid store and return the foundation because it was the wrong shade. The nicest sephora I've been to was in Waikiki. Come to think of it, I never had an issue with customer service while living there. read more

I almost left the store crying, no lie. I'm a huge Sephora buyer, huge. Just this week out of boredom I spent $600 on makeup via online. Today I decided to use a gift card I had gotten myself for $250. I scheduled an appointment for a makeover so I could decide what palettes I wanted for eyes. I get to my appointment early and it starts alright. They offer a consultation with a Dior artist before I start my makeover and I agree. He begins to do my makeup and tells me about all these facial products. He stops just 15 mins into my scheduled 45 min consultation to press that I purchase one of the products or my scheduled makeover can't go on. I say I'm not interested, I want to stick with my usual brands and he just says we'll look around and walks off. The whole reason I was there was to get to know about shimmer eye products I could purchase. It took explaining this to 4 people until they said they could "try" to get me a eye mini. If it wasn't for Ashly, I would have returned the products I had decided to purchase (I was so mad I only spent $90). Because of her I decided to go ahead and purchase another Sephora gift card ($100) for a friends birthday. Mac never treated me like this, even NYX (grimace) has better customer service. So I emailed sephora customer service because I was upset about a bad experience I had. They told me someone would contact me in 5-7 business days. I wrote the email on March 14 and now it's March 25 and I still have no response from anyone. So off to social media I go. I came into this location and asked about a serum because since moving from OC my skin has changed and normally I shop at Nordstrom but there isn't a Nordstrom in town. So I came to Sephora thinking they could help me. Boy was I wrong. The girl showed me some decent options but nothing I was overly impressed by. She looked at me and said smugly "good luck" now what the heck does that even mean. Was it like I was in a sea of things that I knew nothing about. No it was like since you don't like my suggestions go stuff it. So i took all my products that I was going to buy and put them down and left. Then I emailed Sephora and they didn't care either. Now back I go to my drawing board but I will tell you this I would much rather drive an hour and 30 min to the closest Nordy's than ever deal with Sephora again. read more

The service sucks not to mention the employees working tonight not once greeted me or even attempt to help me I was literally waiting at the register for ten minutes when a customer walked over to one of the sales associates and asked if they worked there because I had been waiting for quite a while, mind me that I don't steal but I felt very comfortable stealing there and that's BAD and he Hector looked at me gave me the dirtiest look and had the nerve to say I wasn't there that long he was so Rude that I left the makeup on the counter and told him to put his f/($ make up back and that I would take my business to the Sephora inside the mall someone really needs to teach him how to deal and talk to customers because Hector was very unprofessional if he would have just simply told me sorry for the wait I'll be right with you I would have been fine but he was very Rude! I took my business to the sephora inside the valley plaza and the atmosphere there was so different they greeted me right away, good customer service they got me what I needed and took me out of my bad mood that Hector from Sephora inside JCPenny put me in, I will definitely be going back!! read more

BIGGEST FAIL! WENT TO SEPHORA DEC14, last day for coupon, went to cashier Cristina at Bakersfield Ming Av store & showed $20 off coupon twice while she was busy looking up my name and told her twice. She took my gc for $25 and tried to charge me the $28.75 bal, so to my shock, she insists not seeing the coupon when that was 1st thing i informed her for my reason to be there. Acidly the only way to re-claim my coupon is to pay 1st with my cc cuz she said she couldn't take cash? and will be refunded back the $20 so I agreed. DID NOT. After 10-15 mins of trying, passes me onto her lead who promised it'll take just a few mins, only to be told the system wasn't allowing her as well. After 15 mins on the counter gets approval from the manager and STILL wasnt being refunded. BIG SCHEME OR WHAT?! Almost 15mins now same result and she finally offered me a non-expiring coupon for $20...I was too tired of their occupying my day so I disdainfully agreed to force myself back into SEPHORA! read more
