I had come back to this store to exchange an unused product for the correct color. With it being a weekend of course there were gobs of people. The store was a small one compared to other stores. Something about the way the store is setup was not conducive to a great shopping experience. People running into people, weaving in and out and going all the way around just to get a product that was sitting just "right there". The checkout process was no smoother. There was a "rope" in the middle of an isle leading to cashier with a sign that reads "line starts here" or something descriptive. Ok which side do you line up at?!? Just follow the flow if there is one. So you have people lined up in one half of the small isle and other customers shopping as passing through, if at all possible, on the other not so clear side. When it's your turn you are standing in the middle of the isles while other customers are bumping trying to get past. Sigh. Once you get ready to leave you ah e to do the same bumping, excuse me, sorry, weaving in and out, going down another nondirect path just to get out of the store! That was a work-out!!! Never again. I'll go to another Sephora location, just not one in a JCP store as those do not carry all product the big stores carry. The staff was gracious, helpful and plentiful. This Sephora location has by far become the WORST location. If it wasn't the closest I wouldn't even go in there. Each time the service is worse. They spend more time speaking to each other. No support, no hello. I find myself walking around in circles just to find by far the most unenthusiastic staff members as if we're interrupting them doing their nails. After being ignored for 30 minutes, knowing exactly what I needed I finally just went to the register to see if I could get some help with MUF. I knew what I needed, I checked online and knew it was there, but it wasn't on the shelf. The rudest young man "like yeah what do you want?" (Mind you I worked at MAC for 25 years forgive me if I have higher expectations); nonetheless "nope we don't have it" no offer of "we can order it for you, or let me check in the back"! One of my closest friends (I remember when the makeup arena we're all friends) managed there for a decade. The older staff always knew you. These young kids.... I didn't even bother asking for a manager given I figured it'd be another unhappy 20 something. They literally seem like they hate their job and now they don't wear anything or makeup that distinguishes them so they'd rather blend in than work. Horrible. I was already there and had already checked. He just wasn't going to make the effort. Now I'll have to order it, which would've been free if they had offered. What is happening? Ugh read more

Oh Sephora! I can't help myself. When I worked at a theater briefly, I became obsessed with how the actors did their makeup and asked them for tips and tricks. A lot of them directed me to Sephora- I digress-- Sephora is cool. They offer a rewards program, you can usually ask for a few samples and they even offer some free mini classes/ appointments if you're in their rewards program and sign up. This is store is way inconsistent. I went in one way just looking for a brow pencil. I'm forever looking for brow pencils due to over plucking and in the midst of my wanderings, a sweet associate in the skin care section offered me a free facial. She was kind, offered helpful advice and seemed genuinely interested in customers. I was blown away at how top notch the service was. My next visit was less than stellar. I went looking for a new perfume, it was a weekend, and they were crowded, but i felt the service i received was poor. I asked if they carried a certain perfume, the associate laughed and directed me to a perfume place upstairs because they didn't have it. I asked if they had something similar and she said "I don't know" and walked off. I was standing there a little surprised. Did she really just direct me to a competitor and not even try to offer a suggestion? I ended up picking something up that day anyway, and when I was headed to the checkout I overheard two associates complaining about a customer. I get it , anyone who has ever worked CS knows, some people are difficult. I just didn't think it was cool to say it so loudly that I could hear. I could write about several similar experiences, but Ill just leave it at this.. This is a tale of two Sephoras which seems to be common. Some associates are top notch, stellar, kind people, Some are not necessarily non-stellar, but don't seem to enjoy their jobs. This store in general needs to re train their employees in customer service. Came here for a sample and tried to grab these two ladies attention infront of me, but walked past me on purpose so they would continue on with their chit- chatting. Grabbed somebody else and called for assistance but help never came after five mins. I see all these employees standing around pretending to be busy and finally grabbed someone to get a freaking sample. Was also about to spend $158 on a Caudalíe cream but decided to opt out and purchased it online through the product's site due to this experience. (Which was my last straw with this store.) Sephora is pushing its clientele to start shopping online for the reason that service is close to non-existing. Plus, most women (like me) just come grab their things they know and go. This will make physical stores eventually close in the future if employees are not assertive towards helping customers find what they are looking for. read more

If I could give this a negative star, I would!!! They don't even deserve a one star. Today, I when to the parks mall to do some shopping around. I when to Sephora because It's inside of the mall and I just wanted to go straight home after the mall. I when in with some questions about some products (that ulta also has). Of course, because I saw that some employees where busy, I waited and looked around for the meantime..... oh, and mine you, I when in with No makeup, jeans, a shirt, and my hair in ponytail. I didn't look cute, but I don't think I looked like a mess either ...... anyways, I was looking at the Anastasia Beverly Hills products, when I saw two employees talking about their day or what not. I was about to approach them when they looked at me up and down, disgusted and quickly walked away. Of course, that made me mad, but I let it go. As I was looking around, I try to talk to some of them, but they all try their best to avoid me by walking away or simply ignoring me when I would tell them I need it help (the ones helping customers, I don't expect them to drop everything to help me, so I wasn't mad at them. I totally understand). There was this one guy however, that was helping a customer out. What he did, definitely made me so furious. I was looking at some products (don't remember the name) and testing them out. This employees literally walked in front of me, pushing me so he could get through, almost knocking me down. He looked at me for a second and continued to keep walking. He didn't even try to say sorry or nothing. He looked at me so disgusted as if it was my fault. The customers turn to look at me apologetic and mouth to me "sorry". I felt so disrespected that I just walked out. Now, There was more that happen, but I don't want to go into deep detail about it. I walked out, left the mall and when to ulta. At ulta, I was greeted kindly and asked if I need it help. They helped me out and they where super kind to me. Now, there is a reason I prefer ulta over Sephora. I don't care where you work at/what store, don't treat your customers like crap just because you want to, they aren't dress good, or they may "not" have money. You always treat people with respect and if they need anything, you help them. After all, thats your job. Working in retail, let me tell you, that is so disrespectful to do to your customers. I usually don't complain about stores because I just go in buy what I when for and leave. I hardly ever ask questions and when I do, I'm not rude or try to be an entitle brat. I know, I know, another makeup place- I really don't wear a lot of make-up, which is why I have to come to these places so much. I used this location for my company Christmas party makeup- because I can't do it myself. I tend to use MAC more often, but they don't even carry sparkly eye shadow, and I wanted to look like a disco ball, so I opted for Sephora. I had a really great experience at the one in Fort Worth and when I called to book this appointment (do so in advance or you won't get in) I told them I needed someone bold and confident. You get your makeup done for "free" when you purchase $50 in product. Of course you always end up walking out with more than that, so it's worth it for them. I checked in at the register and was escorted over to the mirrored makeup area and greeted by a bubbly gal named Becka. She was perfect- chatting with me, explaining why she was using which product and explaining the process. They have this little machine that matches your skin to product colors so that was pretty rad. I showed her a picture of my dress and told her I wanted to go all out and there was no amount of glitter that would be too much. She actually thanked me after because she never gets to do "fun" makeup. It took longer that I expected, and than they told me it would- evidentially she is the most knowledgeable person in the store and she kept getting pulled away to help other people. I ended walking out with $76 in product and looking like a disco fairy. But I still have glitter on my face two days later, so I'd say she did a great job. read more

I had a free VIB makeover so I decided to book on the day I was flying out to see friends. I was little scared since there has been some horror story's about Sephora make overs but I decided i would take the chance since every makeup artist is different. I arrived early and my artist Denise took care of me! I explained what I wanted what flaws I have and how dry my skin gets. She listed to what I wanted and did everything I asked and more! She was funny and sweet and explained why and what she was using. After the 45 mins I was ready to go! It looked perfect and I will defiantly be looking forward to seeing her! read more

I had a great experience at this Sephora. I went in to try the new Fenty foundation that everyone has been raving about. I was greeted immediately and seated to get matched. As a black woman, I'm always skeptical about buying a foundation right away because a lot people in the beauty industry cannot properly match our skin and undertones. So I came just to try a sample and decide from there if I'll purchase the product. Selena helped me out and got the shade right on the first try! She was super sweet and told me so much about the product, how it works, and what other products help it to reach it's full potential. She was not forceful at all in attempting to make me purchase anything that day, which I feel at other makeup stores that happens a lot. After trying the sample at home on my own (cause it's never the same at home), I'm convinced that Rihanna did her thing with this makeup and Selena knows her stuff! This was around 6pm and yes I mean every employee that was there that day. I was in one area of the store looking for something and every employee was talking amongst each other and laughing but yet seen me there and not once had the audacity to help me. Came to return a perfume that I picked up at a bigger Sephora and hated. I didn't have my receipt (apparently they can't look it up with the beauty insider card) and the lady who processed my return was the absolute rudest. The most horrible customer service I've ever recieved.. I bought an eyebrow pencil about 2 weeks ago, normally used lancome and decided to try Anastasia.. I tried it once and knew I didn't like it. At all. I came to sephora to exchange it for the lancome one, plus buy a few more additional items but my reciept was wet (my daughter spilled her water in my purse right before then).. I tried to explain to them and show them "unfortunately they can't do anything about it". I asked them to look up my purchase with the card I used, I had proof of purchase. They got a manager to come up just to say no, not even trying to offer any solutions. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I dropped everything. The 5 products I wanted to buy, I left them and went to ulta. Ulta doesn't have a problem like this. Good bye sephora, never again. Lost me as a customer forever. Very disappointing!!!! Made an appointment online to get a full face makeup @12pm walked in went straight to the register a guy was at the register answered the phone put it down and just walked away and didn't acknowledge me whatsoever. I said okay maybe he's just busy so another employee walked over and asked if I needed help I informed her about my appointment so she asked me to wait in the front and she will get the makeup artist. The girl who did my makeup was AMAZING! She was so helpful and informative and I love how my makeup turned out! BUT once I was done and ready to check out some female at the register with blonde hair gave me attitude! So I explained to her my status and i was going to buy eyelashes and a contour stick ($35). (I get free makeovers for rouge and I pulled up the app to show her my card) she kept insisting that she had to scan it.mind you she had already pulled up my account with my phone number and even confirmed it with my name! So she had everything pulled up the whole time she kept asking me to open my email maybe i got a "scan ticket" to my email . Then another employee said no she's not signed up to receive emails! Ughhhh yes i was standing there trying to log into my email for NOTHING!I got my makeup done because I had a party to go to. My makeup appointment was at 12 and she didn't finish my makeup until 1:40ish . So i was running a little late and I just wanted to pay for my lashes and contour stick and leave! But the girl at the register was literally stalling! It was also embarrassing because she was talking on the little walkie thing and another employee was checking out people at the register next to me. She was saying "so she still has to spend $50 right" it sounded as if she wanted me to have to pay that . I don't understand because the makeovers are a PERK of reaching the status! Last time I was here I walked in knowing what I was going to get. I wanted to try a new foundation in the Makeup Forever line. When I asked someone to color match me I was told it would be 30 min. or more....but when I looked around I saw almost every employee just hanging out and talking (it was quiet slow that day). I told the lady are you sure because everyone is just standing around talking and she very rudely told me yes it would be 30 min so I just said okay and shopped as I waited. In less then 5 min a lady walked by and asked me if I need help. At that moment I was very upset that I was told 30 min even after asking the girl twice but yet she lied cause someone offered to help immediately right after. So I got color matched but then asked for a manager. I explained to the manager I was upset with how rude the girl was she didn't even offer to go ask anyone of the girls on the floor of it would be quicker. I told the manager I wasn't complaining to try to be that person who starts stuff but complaining so that the store could improve. I've noticed with other reviews I'm not the only one who had this problem. And btw a color match should only take a couple min. so for anyone to have to wait that long is ridiculous. I've had many issues with this store and their staff and if anything they all need to improve their attitude. I hate to say this but this is why I shop at Ulta even though I love some of the brands that Sephora carries I don't appreciate how I'm treated every time I walk in.
