The pork bbq sticks are fatty, flavorful, and delicious. The Java rice or rice made with turmeric has a subtle flavor and was good with a little soy sauce, calamansi, and peppers. I would recommend getting some Mang Inasal on your lazy hotel days in Manila.

And the marinade recipe is so simple, because we were able to replicate it with the simple ingredients of Coconut vinegar, anatto oil (for red color) and lemongrass and Calamansi (lemon/lime hybrid). There are now numerous locations throughout the Philippines (15,000 employees later) and we came to this one because it was close to the Pasay crib and we enjoyed smelling the smoke for medicinal purposes while waiting for our chicken.
