Learned from the owner that Gimbap is the Korean name for triangular shaped rice balls that I call omusubi. Seoul Gimbap is located in Kim's Oriental Market. The Gimbap is packaged in the special wrapper to keep the nori (seaweed sheet) crisp. The friendly owner will teach you how to wrap the Gimbap in the nori if you are unfamiliar with the process. On the day I went to Kim's I had called to see if they were selling kimbap (long shaped rice rolls). I was told yes, but was disappointed that only Gimbap is being sold. Decided to try the Gimbap and they were tasty. Nice to see new Asian food options available in Albuquerque. The owner was training his staff on how to prepare. Friendly and pleasant staff working the counter! You can also find the Seoul Gimbap stand was also at Railyards on Sundays. Call ahead to reserve as while we were perusing the options, someone called and bought out whatever was left. Solid Gimbap. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. Hopefully more filling options will be available in the future! Oops, so excited to grab a couple of Gimbap before they were sold out that I forgot to snap pics of the Gimbap!

I got the chicken, pork and a beef and they are all amazing. Tasty. Exactly what I could expect! Lots of rice! Good flavor! The girls will find you inside the market to give you your order while you shop. That was really nice. The food and experience overall I would come back for sure!

Onigiri we're really delicious! They add up at $6+ a pop, but I like supporting local entrepreneurs. Pick up some Korean grocery items at Kim's Market while you're there. Frozen mandu (dumplings) are a great quick meal.

    Instructions are on back.

Easy in and out but if you want something that is not available they will prepare and call if u have the time. Me with a 30 min lunch picked up the Shrimp Temura Onigiri and Bulgogi Beef Steak Onigiri both of which were great. Make sure u follow the directions otherwise they will happily show you how to eat. I would have liked some type of hotsauce but didn't ask. Will definitely go back to try to get the Spicy Korean BBQ Pork Onigiri. But the odds are not in my favor...

First of all THE NICEST PEOPLE I've met in Albuquerque! Second this local small business makes such high quality foods!! The rice is absolutely perfect and the filings are generous and tasty! I get the Tofu Blaze every time and it just gets better and better!! They sell out fast and the market they reside in is an absolute gem! Everything is impeccably clean and well stocked!! No old dusty foods there...great prices and there is a $10 minimum to use a card to pay. Overall my family and I are ecstatic to find this perfect lunch spot! We have been coming back every week since we found them...even took a batch to TN on the flight! Amazing!

Beef Bulgogi Beef Steak Onigiri not the spicy one but still delicious

Great food. I love the spicy bulgogi and regular bbq. The shopping area has stuff talin doesn't even have. The people are so nice.

This place is amazing! Highly recommend. They are so good fresh but also are very tasty cold or slightly warmed. I'm happy to know about the market now as well, they have lots of goodies!

At first it appeared as just an oriental market. We then discovered there was a small restaurant in the back serving hot foods. My stomach was empty but I wanted something light. They had some fried dumplings that sounded interesting. It was right up my alley for a quick snack. When I inquired if it had any pork or chicken I was informed it was vegetables. I was like ok I can work with that. When it came out I was a bit caught off guard. I guess I was expecting more round plump dumplings but instead they appeared more like pot stickers. I took my first bite. It was very bland. I dipped it in the sauce it came it. The sauce overpowered the veggies and it was ok but still very bland. I wasn't too impressed. They offered a lot of items on the menu mostly consisting of pork so I didn't venture too deep. Personally I'm a not a big fan of pork but if that's what you're into than this may be the place for you. Honestly you'd probably have a better experience than I did. Overall it was an ok experience. The restaurant was very small. The staff was friendly. For me it was nothing to write home about. I can at least say I gave it a try but it was not for me. I probably won't be returning.

That's why Sakura Sushi & Grill stood out right away. They clearly label gluten-free options on the menu. They also offer gluten-free soy sauce, which is a huge win. Even better, they have lunch specials with gluten-free options, which is rare. It's located in Riverside Plaza in Albuquerque, just past the river on the west side. I ordered the Sushi Lunch A with premium fish and chose the double salmon roll. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the portions were great for the price. The miso soup that comes with lunch isn't gluten-free, but they brought me a side salad with an amazing gluten-free dressing instead. I felt confident eating here, which is not something I say often. I didn't have any reaction afterward and would absolutely eat here again. One of the coolest surprises: they make their own wasabi in-house. It's not on the menu, but if you ask, they'll bring it out, and it is absolutely worth it. We considered getting a sushi boat, but the lunch specials were a better value for lunch. If we went for dinner, we would absolutely order a boat. I also had hot sake, which paired perfectly with the meal. At the end, they even brought us a sweet cinnamon tea for my friend's birthday, even though we didn't order dessert. Service was warm and attentive the entire time. My friend has a shellfish allergy, and the server made sure her plate only included fin fish, which we really appreciated. We went around 1:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, and it was quiet with only a few other tables. The atmosphere felt calm and relaxed, with a casual, comfortable vibe that made it easy to sit and actually enjoy a conversation without feeling rushed. They close at 3 and reopen for dinner, so it's a great low-key lunch spot if you time it right. My friend also mentioned she brings her young kids here often, and the woman manager or owner is especially kind and welcoming to them. I enjoyed this place so much that I called my husband on the way home to tell him all about it. We're already planning to go back with our kids, which will make this my second visit in one week. If you're gluten-free, this place is a gem. And even if you're not, the quality, service, and overall experience make it absolutely worth a visit.

And sometimes when there's limited choice here I'll make do with what is available. Fortunately this place is great. You can order a single broth or a split pot. They offer tons of condiments and ice cream for desert. I've also ordered this as delivery which I thought was impossible. But they make it work. You order your broth (single flavor uless you get two orders of broth). You also order your ingredients and whatevder sides you want. I usually get beef, pork and meatballs. The broth was spicy but a little oily tasting. I was sweating the whole time which was awesome! The veggies, meats and mushrooms all had great flavor. This place was obviously using fresh ingredients. I'm sharing a copy of my bill so you can see that they itemize for things like the sauce/ ice cream bar as well as the cc fee.
