I recently came here for lunch with coworkers and I'm so glad we did. Everything was so good and great portions for the size. I had the Korean beef special which had a nice variety of things to eat. It came with the option of veggie spring rolls or pot stickers. Next time prob get the pot stickers. The beef was so tasty and I has half portion of rice and noodles. They also came by and gave us some veggie pancakes which were so good and crunchy. The staff were so friendly too. I look forward to going back some other time!
We came in right before closing on a week night. They were pretty busy. We ordered too much food for our family of four. They did a good job helping our dumb ass' order. I got spicy tofu with a fried egg. It wasn't the best Korean food I've ever had but it was a lot better than the places by my house. Everyone enjoyed their meals. And the bowls and plates are a lot of food.
My wife and I dined on April 23 there with our son while visiting Albuquerque as we were craving Korean food. It is a small place where you order at the counter and they bring you the food to your table. My son and wife had their BBQ Chicken Special $12.99 and I had their Spicy Tofu Special $13.99. Usually in most restaurants, tofu is cheaper or the same price as the chicken platters. The specials come with steamed rice or Japchae (noodles), pot stickers or vegetable egg rolls. We all had half rice and half Japchae noodles on the platter. We also ordered their Korean pancakes, half an order of each. The vegetable pancakes was delicious but the Kimichi pancakes were too greasy that my son didn't eat them.
I have loved Asian pear for years now because it's consistent, clean and quick. Always friendly service and quick in and out. I usually order to-go because it's a very tight space to sit and enjoy it but regardless the food is always delicious and fresh. The combo box is my favorite because it's a great portion and you get a little bit of everything. Also love that they give you cucumbers and kimchi with every other. I live in Rio Rancho and it's always worth the drive.
We LOVE Korean food and was not expecting to find anything in Albuquerque so we came with low expectations but ended up having a nice meal. Small restaurant and was surprised to see how busy they are! Ordered to share with our group of 4 the spicy ramen soup, kimchi pancake, spicy tuna and spicy pork kimbap, and a beef bulgogi bowl. All the food was good. The owner (Korean woman) was really nice. She came out and greeted us, gave us some free veggie pancake to try, and offered us more free kimchi. Nice to find a good option for Korean food where I would not expect to find one!
Asian pair is a really great option to stop in for a quick lunch. They have a variety of things to try including a few different Korean dishes. This is my second time stopping by and I will say this time the service was better in comparison to the last time a couple years ago. They were quick, but I did come at a weird time and not during the lunch rush. I did notice a few people had called ahead and that probably helped. I got one of the meal deals that came with meat and carbs as well as veggies and it's really just a good amount of food. You could easily make two meals out of it. The space itself is on the smaller side. There isn't a ton of seating, but there is seating. I would maybe recommend calling out during the busier lunch hours. Parking can kind of suck, the lot itself is just weird, but it's very manageable.
Random find. The prices on Yelp menu pictures was what drew me to this place. But make sure you're looking at the updated prices! Nonetheless, their menu is still decently priced for the portion. Bright and clean place upon entry. We were greeted right away. I shared their Korean Beef Special with Rice & Japchae with my little one. Beef was delicious and flavorful. The Japchae wasn't that impressive. I would get all rice next time. We also got 2 shrimp eggrolls ($1.98 each) which surprised me because they were VERY tiny for the price. We were also given a sample of their Korean pancake which was freshly made and crunchy. Thank you! Overall the food was good. Would consider returning and trying out their other dishes.
A fav of many for there filling Korean options where most dishes are gifted and topped off with a sample of Korean pancake slices , kimchee cabbage and cucumbers
Uh lol, Korean food in Albuquerque. I appreciate that everything is cheap and the service workers are incredibly nice, but unfortunately this was not Korean food. - Kimchi Pancake - After I ate their complimentary kimchi which was basically fresh napa cabbage soaked in this spicy sauce, I knew that this pancake would not be very authentic. Because the kimchi wasn't great, the pancake didn't have a lot of kimchi flavor. Also there wasn't enough kimchi or lettuce in the pancake, it was mostly just dough. I do think that the pancake was fried to perfection though and I did appreciate the sauce. - Combo Special (BBQ Chicken & Beef) - Was not particularly impressed with the bowl. I thought both meats lacked flavor and were a bit tough to chew on. The japchae disintegrated in your mouth a little too easily and didn't have a lot of sesame oil flavor. The rice was good though! Overall, would not come back to eat here because of the lack of flavor.
We came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was kind of packed, but it's because they have very limited seating because the font end is small. Everyone was nice and the service good. Let's talk food... I had the Korean beef special with pot stickers and half rice and half JapChea. The beef was tasty, the pot stickers were tiny and tasted average, and the JapChea was a little dry for my taste. But with all that being said, it was still good. I threw some sauce on the JapChea and it solved the issue. My girlfriend got the spicy tofu bowl and she was all about it and she was a fan of the JapChea. The kimchi pancake was good when dipped in the spicy sauce that accompanied it. Otherwise it was really thick batter, which was a little cakey for my preference. Make sure you get extra sauce because the one serving of sauce is not enough for the portion size. Someone else who was dining in had to get a to-go box for their leftovers. The beef gimbob was fine, it wasn't bad, and it wasn't the best. But I ordered the beef special, so maybe it was too much beef for that day. The only downside was the cabbage kimchi that they served on the side which had no flavor. It tasted like raw cabbage. My girlfriend thought the same thing. This is a 4 out of 5 and would come back to try other things on the menu. I would order takeout the next time around. This would hit the spot if you wanted a quick Korean fix in the area.

Solid place. Pretty room with a good amount of seating for the space - but it's popular, so anticipate it might be crowded during peak hours. All staffers were friendly and working hard to make everything great. Owner on-site, pitching right in and circulating to make sure everything was delicious and going well. Delicious lagniappe samples (veggie pancake) every visit so far. Pricing was good for the quality and quantity of food delivered. And the food was just pretty great - not terribly piquant (if you're worried) or overly sweet, but with loads of nuance in ever morsel. MMM! As you've read, parking is a bit of a challenge, as is (as mentioned) seating - get there early or late if you don't want to deal with that. read more
Visiting my son who lives in Albq. I live in Michigan. Asian Pear had Excellent food. The seating area is a fun inviting atmosphere with tasteful music to eat and. Enjoy. The food is authentic Korean and presented in bento box. Definitely a must go restaurant. As far as taste they hit the head. Been to Korea many times over many years. Very aware of "real" Korean food taste and quality vs American Korean LOL. This food was real variety. I will go back for sure during this trip to NM from MI. read more

I really enjoyed this place. I ordered the Korean Beef Special as well as the Iced Thai Tea and the bulgogi meat was super tasty! The food came quickly and was convenient for takeout. The Thai Tea was a bit sweet, but other than that I don't have many complaints. The staff was very polite and they made sure we had all of our orders. The small shop felt very welcoming and calm. Definitely a must-try if you're in the area. read more

Happen to be here in ABQ for business, again...this place is walking distance to my hotel. Now, I over do pizza, burgers and chicken so I wanted something different. I like what I got. 2 meat meat combo, beef & spicy pork. Comes with white rice, glass noodles(aka japchae) and some pickled cucumbers. Also in my bag was some Kim chi, chili sauce and a soy like sauce for dipping. I kinda over did it with half a veggie pancake that comes with it's own chili sauce..everything was great! Check my pics, give 'em a try, I'll be back. read more

I came here on Friday, July 22, 2022, with my sister and mother. The Asian Pear is located in a strip mall close to the Stone Face Tavern. There are five or six tables to eat inside, but most of their business is "to go". We ate inside, in celebration of my belated birthday. Mrs. Kim, who is the Korean hostess/owner/cashier, was extremely nice to us. She suggested food to try and even let us split the check. I ordered the combo bowl ($9.98), with bbq chicken, spicy pork, glass noodles, steamed rice, green onions, lettuce, and sesame seeds. We ordered a side of shrimp eggrolls ($1.98 each). My bowl had very fresh ingredients and I truly preferred the chicken to the pork. Shrimp eggrolls contained giant shrimp and a very crispy outer shell. While eating our food, Mrs. Kim brought out more for us to sample. She insisted we try her chicken potstickers, vegetable eggrolls and Korean vegetable pancake. All of these had light and delicious flavors and my favorite, besides my bowl, was the Korean pancake. That combination of vegetables with the dipping sauce really hit the spot. Thank you so much, Mrs. Kim, for letting us sample your delicious dishes! Needless to say, we left this unassuming restaurant really full. I had to take some of the food home to my wife, and she loved it. If you like fresh, delicious Korean food, delivered with a smile, in large quantities visit the Asian Pear. The prices are very reasonable. My suggestion would be to sit down and enjoy the food, rather than take it to go. It will be hotter and much fresher. read more

Delicious food with great quantities at a reasonable price. With scant options for Korean food around the city this place is definitely appreciated. Their pancakes are delicious, fresh fried, crispy with a nice chili oil side dip. Service was fast and unobtrusive. It's also a really nice view of the mountains from the restaurant. Perfect place to go for lunch or dinner! Will be returning here for sure. read more
Good food. Cute atmosphere. Friendly staff. Their establishment was still fairly busy at 7:30pm which is always a good sign. The Combo bowl with BBQ chicken and beef with glass noodles was delicious. We also ordered the Korean Beef bowl with Glass noodles and it was equally delicious. The Spicy Tofu Bowl should be renamed the FIRE Tofu Bowl! In comparison to the other 2 bowls we ordered I wanted to enjoy it but after 3 bites I was done. It was extremely spicy and killed all of my taste buds. There was no option to adjust the heat level so I'm guessing the tofu is marinated in a firey bowl of mixed spice from hell. Next time I will stay away from anything marked as "Spicy". read more

This is a tasty little storefront that does a rocking' business of churning out quick, delicious, mainly Korean food that is very true to what can be found Seoul, but made for an American market. A large menu is printed on the wall next to the counter cashier and has a small but tasty selection for Korean food. They have a take out service, and small counter, and a few tables that stay filled. As soon as you are done, they swiftly swoop in, clean it, and it's ready again. The tables are full and we'll turned over because the food is that good! Our Korean vegetable pancake was full of flavor, crispy and even the next day, microwaved were just as tasty! My table mates polished off their combo plates and said it was some of the best Korean food they have tasted in ABQ! My rice bowl with chicken was full of flavor, tender chicken, tasty sauce, and fluffy rice. My only complaint, there's not enough space for more folks to have a seat, have some tasty grub and people watch. Wishing them continued success and hope you will be able to expand! Do yourself a favor, get some Korean flavor! read more

What else would I be getting from here other than the Kimchi Pancake! I liked that there were plenty of parking spots in front of the shop...so it was kind of no hassle/worries when it comes to finding a decent parking spot for your car. This lil shop has just a few tables and a counter to order table, so during COVID time, it may be hard for you to bank on sitting inside to eat there once you get your food. The lady who took my order was nice and polite. I put my order in...wait maybe 5 min for them to fry up my order and I was eating in bliss in no time. I also appreciated that even I ordered the pancake as a full meal itself, they still also give me extra pieces of those pancakes (like what any other customers would get, too). Upon leaving, the owner seemed to care about her customers (while eating, I saw she recognized and chatted with some of her more regular customers, too). She asked me how the food was to make sure I was satisfied with her food (and I did!!). Overall, I thought it was a decent casual joint..and I would return again when I have craving for Korean food (esp the pancakes)...it probably maybe not very super authentic Korean and not the cheapest, but hey...the shop is clean..and it's ABQ, you can't expect much from Asian food (other than Vietnamese food) here! read more

Food is always consistently delicious! The flavors are amazing and the food isn't greasy!! It's a healthier Korean fusion style restaurant. My favorite is the bulgogi beef bowl. I would recommend trying the kimchi and the cucumber salad as well. The vegetable pancakes are a great appetizer. read more
Small cafeteria style place where you walk up and order. Stopped by on a Tuesday evening to pickup a bulgogi bowl. They have a small dining room with a fridge filled with Asian teas and drinks for purchase. The bowl had a general amount of beef, but the beef had some chunks of gristle that was too hard to chew. I wish the bowl had more veggies in it to make it a more balanced meal but that's just me. They do offer little cups of kimchi which is nice. Super fast and basic place to stop by for a quick meal. It hit the Korean spot so I'll be back. read more
Asian Pear was a quick, casual eatery with a smaller menu. We had a shrimp egg roll, a chicken pot sticker apiece, the sweet and sour chicken bowl, and the Korean beef bowl. Kimchi, teriyaki sauce, and cucumber salad ramekins on the side. They have fountain drinks and cans of drinks, as well as an assortment of other drinks. I had mentioned to my husband I wanted to try the Korean vegetable pancake next time since he wasn't interested. The server surprised us with samples along with our meals. The shrimp egg roll was very small and what I would consider a spring roll. The pot stickers were fine; nothing to write home about. The bowls were good, but I added the teriyaki sauce, leftover pot stickers sauce, and cucumber salad to my bowl to make it more "saucy" and diversify the flavors a bit. The sauce on the sweet and sour chicken wasn't as sweet as I'm used to, etc I actually enjoyed. The pancake was exceptional! That will be the reason I return. Absolutely my favorite thing on the menu, as well as my husband's. It didn't even need any sauce, which is unusual for me. Overall, a quick, casual eatery with a bit better than average food with a sole exceptional item. Get the pancake! read more
